amazing product
this adaptator works very well with my french snes controller without spending a whole week of configuration: you plug, you play.It is a pleasure to play some games with snes controller on the wii like VC games or emulators.
For just one game it doesn't work (VC super metroid) but otherwise it is the paradise!

feels light and cheap but it works
MINE came with the new cable that goes from 9 pin to the standard NES port, and this technically means you can use 3 different types as i believe some famiclones controllers use that special d-9 untested though. The special 9 Pin extension also adds a few feet and its thick so it adds some nice length to it.

Are the reviews mixed with another product?
Anyway, it works as intended. You can use it for any game that supports the Classic Controller and includes analog trigger emulation. However, on the official Sony controller, a press is registered only if you press the buttons firmly. A soft press isn't.

Updated version is NES compatible
The newer version that is being shipped out now includes a NES to Famiclone pad adapter cable, meaning you now can use an original pad if you wish. Works with WiiU.

Good for SNES, not for NES
Like other reviews have said, the NES port on this does not fit real NES controllers, or real Famicom controllers for that matter. It uses the 9-pin port common on Famicom clones, and most of those clone controllers are not worth using.
The SNES port, on the other hand, works great. Turbo/autofire is easy to use. I haven't had any problems with lag. Tested with the SNES asciiPad, which worked fine.
I guess it's slightly harder to unplug from the Wiimote than official accessories are, but it's not a big deal.

Wrong product description
I've been had. Plain and simple. This product doesn't do what it said it would.
Yes I can plug a SNES controller, but NO, I CAN'T plus a NES controller. The plug is TOTALLY different. Instead of the proprietary NES controller Nintendo used on their system, the device features a standard DB9 plug that of course doesn't fit. I've been told the famicom controllers use this kind of plug, but the product description says NES, not FAMICOM. So now I end up with a device I can't use with my controllers. Rubbish. misleading
i must say playasia has absolutely great fast service wich can even caculate when they will possibly deliver your order to your dour.
despites the nes controlller is put on the pakage.
you can NOT use a nes controller to it.
i trough wtf but then i realize you can use instead a external famicom controller.
but my main question is why i ever wanne do that cuzz.
1 the nes us/eu controllers are in hicher quatity and more populair,since the famicom controllers are hand wired to the famicom.
2 so were would you ever find those external famicom controllers, they,re hard to find.

It's Great
It worked great it Made playing some games 8x easier it also felt really nice playing some new games with it I even played the Wii Fire Emblem with it

Love the super nintendo side of it...but there is a serious flaw.
OK i don't know if its just with the one i received but the so called Nintendo controller port? yeah no its a Sega genesis controller port but the problem is a Sega genesis pad doesn't work in it. so i don't know what the hell it is. but its useless and and now I'm stuck not using my Nintendo controllers. the snes side is awesome except for one thing. the up and down are to sensitive for some reason. my snes controllers are fine on the real hardware but when used with this on the wii the down and up are to touch sensitive way over the normal limit. it takes a bit to adjust and get used to it.

Works great! But still...

however the port for the nes controller is not for usa nes controllers...could be for japanese famicom or for third party controllers... correct me if im wrong...

Great Product
The controller adapter is a great product. It works perfectly with the wii. Either during gameplay or wii dashboard. I use it with my wireless PS2 controller plugged in and it has no issues.

Shoulder button controls are flawed
Before you even consider buying this product after reading all the 5* reviews on this product, note that most of them are reviews FOR ANOTHER PRODUCT.
This device works well except for the shoulder buttons. Not only are the L & R buttons mapped onto L1 and R2, you have to press REALLY HARD on the shoulder buttons for it to work. Definitely not recommended.

Works like a charm! SNES controllers work great. The only problem is the NES connector is not the actual NES (or Famicom) jack, but the 9pin Sega-sytle jack. It's actually the same pinout as some of the clone NES systems. I was able to get my actual NES controller working on it by splicing in a 3DO cable in place of the NES one.

This is a tricky one to review. Overall, the build quality is good and I imagine it will last many years. Unfortunately, all the shoulder buttons are mixed up and unless the game allows you to, there is no way of changing the buttons around. In my case, PES 2009 doesn't allow you to change the buttons, currently making this redundant and there's no way I'm retraining myself to play every game!
Bottom line: Does what it says on the tin, but unless more software supports button configuration, this is going to be a headache for most gamers.
