Taiko Drum
I do not fully agree with what nmy233's comment on the taiko drums being heavily unresponsive to strikes. I've just bought one and I think it's actually pretty good except that there are times when you thought you did hit it correctly, the game says you didn't. Overall, I think it's quite good and it's definitely worth it if you're a taiko fan as I am.
I've also found out that there's an imitation of the wii's taiko drum controllers and yes, it's about half the price of the original. However, PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THAT ONE! It's very much worse off compared to the original one because it's very unresponsive to strikes especially when you're hitting the sides. You can know whether it's the imitation by looking at the size. It's about 6cm bigger in diameters and the stands are white in colour. There's also no place for you to slot in the drum stick like the original one.
I hope this helps.

Taiko Drum
The drum is heavily unresponsive to strikes. Most of the time hitting the drum either results in a delayed or no-response. The problem is even more befuddling when striking a place once has no result, but striking the same place again at the same strength produces a result. Overall, not worth the purchase (which is really bad, considering the entire game revolves around this peripheral). Stick with controllers.
