The YPbPr to RGBHV VGA BOX is a wideband 2:1 analog video switch with an integrated YPbPr to RGBHV converter. The device accepts one set of YPbPr inputs and one set of RGB/HSYNC/VSYNC (PC display card output signal) inputs. Based on the input selected, the output will be either a decoded TV or buffered PC video signal.
The device can convert YPbPr signal to the monitor with low consumption, and also adjust the output signal automatically according to the input signal to fit HDTV or CRT Monitor or TFT.
YPbPr to RGBHV VGA BOX is capable of handling SDTV, HDTV, XGA, SXGA, and UXGA video formats, which makes it an ideal solution for enhancing value in applications ranging from LCD monitors, to set-top boxes, to projectors.
It supports PC video display resolutions up to UXGA (1600 x 1200 @ 75 Hz), 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.
Power Well used on 360, no problem so far.
Too bad that a European power adaptator isn't included though.

Good product but some blank screen A good product to play Wii on my Videoprojector Samsung P400 !!!
Be carfefull to configure the 480p mode on the wii before plug in !!
Just some blank screen (once per hour) but not a very big problem (easy & fast pause with wiimote). Maybe it comes from the alimentation or the change mode (480p to 480 or 580i) !
No regret.

Good purchase. I have buyed to play PS3 in a Samsung LW17N13WX but this monitor don't support HD standar hi-resolutios, but it works perfetly with Wii and PS2 in 480p, the quality its much better that i thought.
I recomend you all read before the monitor specs before purchase this gatchet so you don't get angry when you connect to your VGA monitor.

Nice Works very well, with a 360,ps3,ps2,xbox, only one problem with my wii, VC game doesn't work on a crt or lcd.

Works well with Wii The product works very well with a Wii and a Chimei 221D 22" WS. Picture quality and colour is good, very bright and colourful it actually looks better than on my standard TV. You can not play VC games or GC games via this box unless they support 480p output, 480i displays "out of range". The only issue is a quick black flash occasionally when playing games, usually the transition between the game and cut scenes etc, but its not enough to worry about, it doesn't ruin the game. If you want to play Wii on a LCD, this is the way to go!

I'm really disappointed about playing on my elder screen and you should know it doesn't work on every screen!

Wii ok; PS3 KO With Samsung LW17N13 only works with Wii, all screen modes that works PS3 don't be suported for my Samsung. Don't buy it if you have the same problem and want to play PS3.

Great Product Used mine with both my Wii and my PS3, reproduces colours very well, looks great in 720p, only problem is it looks a very small bit darker than it should do but this is no problem as you can just turn your monitor brightness up.

Pal-50 issues no more Brilliant with the pal 360 as it allows you to play backwards compatible games from the xbox which do not support running in 60Hz (these cannot be played with the xbox VGA cable!). Simply hook this up to your VGA monitor and the 360 component cable. Excuse me while I go and play some more Psychonauts!

Works Like a charm Let's just say I was a bit skeptical with this as I have never used anything like this before, but as soon as I got it I was very excited to get it hooked up.I set it up with my xbox360 and a 21'' monitor and it looks phenominal at 1080i.Now to just get the component cables for the Wii and I will be all set. Highly recommended for those who want to make the most out of your investment, money well spent.

Works with wii a treat... Only let down for me was that my monitor does not let me adjust the vertical. other than that makes the Wii look amazing. The occasional black screen does flick up. Not enough to worry about it though.
curious.jp(2) on 21, Jan. 2007 21:02 (HKT)
Good for use with the Wii I bought this as I'm using a PAL Wii in Japan at the moment, and it's cheap and works well ( although I did notice the 'blanking' another user reported - it's much less than 2s, and only when the wii seems to be changing display modes? E.g. when viewing a flash video in the browser ).
The only reason it's not five stars is that it can't support 480i, so it can be difficult to setup and you can't play virtual console games with it, or the US version of Rayman for example.
To set it up, plug your component cables into the Wii, and then hook just the green pin to the video input on any old TV you have lying around. You'll get a black and white image, and the EDTV 480p option will be enabled in the Wii settings menu. Select it, the screen should spazz out, and now you can safely plug your cables into this VGA box.

Works for Wii It works pretty well for Wii ! The only probleme is it only works when 480p is supported.

Works nice for Wii I bought this adapter to be able to use the Wii on my PC monitor. It works really good. Only in 480p, but most games support this mode. Virtual Console games do not run in 480p and cannot be displayed using this VGA box. Other than that, it works great but sometimes, the image disappears for 2 seconds but this doesn't happen a lot and it's not disturbing. Overall, the item works as described and you get good quality for a low price. Recommended.
Pouchin(1) on 13, Jan. 2007 19:55 (HKT)
Works great with Wii As specified, it works only when Wii is set to 480p, and with games 480p compatibles (which is the case of most games).
Colors are good, image is sharp.

PS3 Works! This works perfectly for PS3, picture comes out alittle darker, however you can use display brightness to fix it up.
killzonenet(1) on 09, Jan. 2007 10:38 (HKT)
It works... (Wii) It works for the Nintendo Wii, but the video constantly cuts off and on. Its possible to play games, but its impossible to do anything when it comes to whenever the video cuts off. Also, there are games that do not support progressive scan. So the converter does not work when it reverts over to 480i.
Save yourself money and get a converter for composite video.

Getting it working: For what it is, this is a great price for a great product. It's a pain to get working, but you get it working you will be in awe!
This will not work with a 480i signal (normal tv). When using it with a gamecube or a ps2 (and maybe the xbox), all of the startup menus are in 480i. This means that it will only work with these systems when your system is displaying the picture in 480p or progressive scan (480p and progressive scan are the same thing). This means that you have to figure out how to start up your game without being able to see a thing! You can hear, but not see. As soon as your system switches into 480p (you have to get the game started and sometimes hold down buttons or go through a menu without being able to see) it works amazing! Also, your ps2 and gamecube games have to support progressive scan (480p) for them to work with this device (at least most gamecube games say on the case--not sure about ps2 games but shadow of the colossus works and looks great!). I've been told that all xbox games support progressive scan, but I don't know.
Now it should just work with a newer system like a wii or an xbox 360 (you might have to change your settings or it may work automatically, but with the settings right even the system menus work in at least 480p). I also believe it supports 1080i and 720p.
Getting it set up the first time with the dip switches and the screw is also a pain. My experience is that if the LCD has a great picture then this will give you a great picture.
Basically you can buy this, or you can buy a $350 converter which works automatically, or you can buy a new tv. When you pay $50, you get cheap. As for me, I'm really thankful that the cheap is on the setup end. Once it's up and running, it's perfect!

Not for ps2 Being the genious that I am and purchasing this for my ps2 (not reading that it's mainly for xbox and 360) I am disappointed to see this is not working for me. When I hook it up to my monitor I get a "Input not supported" I don't have a xbox or 360 to test it on my Acer al1916w monitor. I would imagine this is fine though if you have both of those systems. If anyone has gotten this to work for the ps2 please post a review here.

OK where working This is a small VGA box that comes with a power supply and audio cables. Included is also a converter for european style 220V input. That's a nice touch. The box has two standard VGA connectors and can pass through video by unpressing the switch button. For some reason my LCD monitor (Philips 26PF9946) greeted me and my newly acquired VGA box with the text "Video Mode Not Supported". However it works fine on my Philips 107T5 CRT monitor.
Now this box is a nice deal if you have a monitor that supports it and a game that wasn't developed by monkeys. As an example, in Gran Turismo 4 you will have to switch between RGB SCART and Component every time a race ends, as the menus are not rendered in 480p or 1080i and your screen goes blank. As a bonus it doesn't save your setting and you have to do it all over next time you open up the game.
God Of War atleast have the menus sorted and it looks nice in progressive scan. The blur you get with "Soften" is now completely gone.
