description
For the crew of the USG Ishimura, this is how the horror begins: On a deep space mining mission to a remote planet, an ancient religious relic thought to be proof of the existence of God is unearthed and brought aboard. It is worshipped by some, scorned by others. But when the unholy artifact unleashes a long- dormant alien race, its glimpse of Heaven transforms the ship into a living Hell. The chaos is immediate. The carnage is uncontrollable. And an onslaught unlike anything ever witnessed by mankind has now been set free to rip this world apart. Prepare yourself for the disturbing opening chapters of the new EA game that takes adult animation to graphic new levels of bloodshed and terror. This is DEAD SPACE: DOWNFALL.

Only for Dead Space Diehards.
Downfall shows the events that occur somewhere during Dead Space Extraction (I think) and conclude upon the arrival of the Kellion - the ship with the first games protagonist, Issac Clarke.
The film tells the story of the Ishimura's Chief Security Officer Alissa Vincent and her attempts to safeguard the lives of the crew. The story is reasonable though much weaker than those of the 2 currently existing Dead Space games.
The animation is relatively poor, though this did not diminish my enjoyment of the movie. It was nice to see familiar scenes from the games and see some events play out that I'd previously only read about.
However, it would have been nice if there was more of these scenes. SPOILER ALERT - for example we see the incident where the Captain is killed, a very important part of the story as it was the Captain's blind faith which helped escalate the Necromorph problem.
I wanted to see a scene showing how the bridge was overrun and certainly expected to see some scenes with Issac's wife Nicole, but I was left wanting. These events and people are given great importance in Dead Space and showing more about their fate would have been great. SPOILER OVER.
If you are a diehard Dead Space fan then I can recommend this, even if it is just for your collection. If that is not you, then I wouldn't suggest spending your time watching this feature.
