Ryu is another talented music contributor which makes the beatmania games such a legend. Starmine is his first album, the twin disks has the long versions of fan favourite pieces from the games and collaborations with other artists under the beatnation records. Get into the beat, sway to the rhythm even without the game screen in front of you.
It's mediocre. It's not terrible, it's just not that great. Both the album and remix sides have a few good aspects, but some grave weaknesses too. Although Ryu*'s music lately has been fairly repetitive in recent Bemani games, I was personally convinced this was going to be great.
The bad: On the album side, some of the older songs are barely extended or just looped. On the remix side, most of the remixes are unoriginal and just altered instrumentals.
The good: 34 songs in total. Some notable songs: bass 2 bass, Mind Mapping, Narcissus at Oasis, Waxing and Wanding (Teranoid Mix), and Setsugekka (Double Dragon Mix).
For ~$50 this is kind of pushing the envelope. However, if Ryu* is one of your favorite Bemani artists, you'll probably like this.
