Good Game
Having recently played 'Tales of Hearts' for the same platform, the DS, i expected to similarly enjoy Tales of the Tempest so i decided to jump in. Glad i did. Visually speaking, it's no graphical tour de force, and i believe this is one aspect that has many out there putting the game down.

The gameplay itself however, is similar 'Tales of' series fun, down to the games story progression and pacing, even down to the quest variety, it is wholly similar. One thing that should be noted however, is how bound this game is to standard JRPG cliches, though regardless, the story itself ultimately proves quite interesting, and the characters themselves, and overall gameplay put forth enough motivation to progress through the title.

Given this, i highly recommend the title to those seeking an above-average JRPG. Great game.

I like the Videogames story it is very interesting if you like the tales series this game is very good and should be quite entertaining.

Awsome Game.
This game is totally worth the money.It may not be as great as the other Tales of Games but an awsome Ds game.This game isnt very difficult,i beat it at lv.46 but it also has a secret dungeon which i beat at lv.74. 5 stars.

Not Bad
As an overall package the storyline/fighting system and graphics are of this game are not too bad.

The story is a class jRPG style "main character's village is attacked by evil force" type but it is told well. The fighting system is well put together and fun to play although it seems like I spent a lot more time reading dialog than fighting. The background graphics are fairly detailed but the characters are drawn in a very strange "super deformed" style that really is not too good looking and they lack detail.

I would not recommend this game (or any other RPG) if you can't read Japanese at least fairly well. My Japanese is not terrific but I managed ok. If you are worried, the dialogue contains a fair amount of Kanji but most of it is fairly common.

For the $15 I paid, I am more than happy.

I should qualify this with the fact that I am not a big fan of the Tales series, the only other Tales game I have played is Tales of Symphonia.

Tales of Tempest is actually a very good RPG.
True the character Graphics suck and its not the best of the Tales series, but thats about it.

Everything else about the game was awsome. The backgrounds and towns were well designed, and the music was stunning [i currently obsessed over the opening song sung by Misono].

The game-play is as good as any tales game. The battle systems not the best, but it still makes the battles feel entertaining rather than a waste of time.

The story is remarkable, and anyone who imports this game should have a translation guide in handy. One thing that usually makes a RPG satisfying to me is a decent story.

I give this game 4/5, because even though it not perfect, its still worth the 15$ i payed to buy it.

Not as horrible as the reviews say
Sure, it's an easy (I even bumped it to hard as soon as I started and had no trouble finishing it in under level 40), been-there-done-that title, but the truth is that it's definitely a fun time waster. The battle system is fun, however, could use better presentation. Over all, a 4 star game.

three star game
Tales fans may cry tears of blood if they are expecting way too much from this, lots of flaws, game is short and it doesn't translate well to 3d, however it is a tales game, it is somewhat worth your time if you know Japanese, just please, for the love of god, jesus, and whatever holy diety you believe in, do not expect an epic game when buying this, you will be disapointed

however if you are a tales collector then obviously this is worth snatching up

going into its flaws, and what i find wrong may detract people from buying lol

but honestly, hand on heart, check this game out, i dont think its awful

Great service, but I'm reviewing the game
Befor I do a game review, I'd like to say the service was excellent, I got it but a few days after I ordered it.

But I'm reviewing the below-average game. The game starts out fun, though ends dullly. The graphics are sub-par, as is the music, which I'll be shocked if Namco's able to release a soundtrack for. But the main complaint is the slow fighting. You CAN use the stylis, though then you can't use special attacks. The game's also only 10 hours long.

In all, buy it sience it's no longe (Gosh I wish I waited), but don't expect much.

great game but...
It great but the game is short I mean short for a tales game it took 15 hours and it doesn't have the grade system so the replay isn't long. the music is nice and I loved it. The game play was good but the boss become a pain because the block all of the time so you don't get high hit combes( I get 44 hit because I lucked out). The Graphics is good for the ds. In the end for the price it is way more then right so I say get it and go to gamebrink for the guide it was very good.

Play-Asia has fantastic service.
Good music, good graphics, good story (so far) = good game. It is not the best game available on the DS, but it is a great addition to the DS library. The fighting system is not as good as other entries in the series like Tales of Symphonia, but it is still fun. It could have been better, but anyone looking for a new game for their DS will not be dissapointed with this one.

Play-Asia has fantastic service. My order went from Recieved to Processing to Shipped within 12 hours. They are very fast. It only took 9 days to get to my house (counting non-buissness days) and I live in Florida, that's half-way across the planet! That is more to do with the mail service than Play-Asia, but it still was rather quick. They packed it nice and secure and included a $5 off coupon on my next purchase plus a Last Hope sticker. I will definitely make my next import purchase here after the fantastic service I had this time.

As for the storyline, if you do not understand Japanese than I suggest you go to GameBrink.com and get the translation guide (you have to sign up first, which is free and easy, but this game is not enjoyable if you can't understand the story). It is not a walkthrough, so you still get the enjoyment of beating the dungeons and stuff yourself. The guide simply translates every line of Japanese in the main storyline and tells you where to go to advance the story. Also, the main menu is in english, but the in-game menus are Japanese, which the guide covers.

Best handheld Tales game!
The graphics look amazing on the NDS screen and the gameplay is very fun. the music is also enjoyable, don't miss out on this game.
