WOW!!!!! I can't wait 4 play-yan 2 be out in the UK I want it even more now because I only thought it could only play songs I didn't realise you could play movies on it too!!!!! GROOVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(PSP costs more and 4 what? DS games are better and with Play-Yan it can do everything a PSP can do for less!!!!)

Was da Nintendo und Panasonic an Qualität geschaffen hat ist einfach genial. Unbedingt das Update von Nintendo(fup-Datei) mit auf die SD Karte legen, somit sind MP 4 in Stereo und CD Qualität abspielbar. Wer gerne mal Videos auf dem DS schauen möchte kommt am Play Yan nicht vorbei.....

The music qualitiy is perfect, and the video qualitiy is well.
Play-Yan is the best way to use the old GBA (SP) as a MP4 Player. Watching videos on DS is recommed!
I don't want to have an ordinary MP3 (4) Player till I got Play-Yan!!!
So everyone who wants a very good MP3 (4) Player, and also got a GBA (SP) or Nintendo DS, just get it!!!!

i just received mine today (took 6 business days with the cheapest shipping) and i love it. i tested out the video mp4 and playback was amazing. the quality isn't bad cause you're already viewing it on a small screen anyway.

the mp3 playback is sweet. hook it up to some speakers and it sounds crystal clear. the cartridge comes with a headphone jack, which by the way is better than the jack that comes built with the DS.

this things kicks butt. get your's now! =P (p0wn the PSP)

With a little patience and help from google...
Just bought this without media stage.

Once you patch it up to play MP4 programs, (and a little help with google to find converting programs) it'll be easy to make your MP4 videos.

Videos are still only at 240x160, but it's still decent enough.

With time, you can create some BRILLIANT videos on your DS,GBASP or GBA. This truely is a wonderful device that if you can find at the right price, with a good SD card, is just amazing.

I got my Play-Yan up and running pretty quickly and it works like a charm. Ive have Movies, Songs, and mini games all up and running on my play-yan with ease. This product is infact compatible with your north american DS.

Play-Yan Rocks
The Play-Yan is a must buy! Really easy to use and is not as big as the GBA movie player. Videos and mp3s all work fine, had no problem what so ever! Just dragged and dropped files onto my SD card and the Play-Yan played them all! Mediastage is very easy to use and this is coming from someone who can not read Japanese. A must buy for any DS owner!

I can't recommend play-yan enough if you like think it's for you. The audio quality is superb when using the mini-jack output on the play-yan itself. So high that even when i tried it through a fairly large amp, rather than headphones, it was still of very high quality. The video playblack is also very good. Even the "medium" setting through mediastage is impressive. Mediastage itself is slightly dautning at first, but within minutes I was working out what does what and how to load up my video files. Converting the videos doesn't take too long, and it can even do DivX (the only format I know it can't read if quicktime). Any mp3 can be played, and [as with videos] it's just a case of dragging and dropping what you want to an SD card (which can be got fairly cheaply nowadays, I got a 512mb one for £20).

you'll read a lot about how bad it is on internet or how hard it's to use.. i just sliped in the SAME SD THAT I USED ON MY CELLPHONE and it read even the ones that my phone didn't.
And about mediastage, can't be easier to use, just set it up to japan when you want to use it, and that's it. The only thing i don't like, its you need a 512 mb SD cuz otherwise you'll have to choose what to carry
