OK for almost everything
Now in 2008 EMS gives a better driver for Topgun, which makes the Topgun much-much better on PC. Topgun is the only gun if you want to play with MAME games on any display. Ideal for nostalgy, works with nes emus, psx emu, arcade emus, pc games.

I was able to calibrate this gun to near-perfect specifications, to match the laser pointer with the mouse in movement.

top gun for lcd tv
Having tried a couple of guns and having no luck on my lcd tv,I have at last found a gun compatible in all ways.easy to set up and having dont that quiet accurate.has everything on it that is required for shooting games.well pleased at last.

Major benefits outshine minor flaws
Pros: Works on any TV, very accurate, cross platform compatibility, easy to use once you know the quirks, kick is fun

Cons: Issues with certain games, small learning curve on setup, sensitive to certain forms of interference

This thing is GREAT. At first it was a little frustrating setting it up, but once I figured out how to make this thing shine it REALLY did so. When you set up:

- Make SURE the bars and you are facing each other in a straight line for best results.
- UV (ie, Sun) light can mess up the sensor bars. Sounds like a big deal, but if you can set up in a basement or only play at night it's not an issue.
- Make sure you figure out at which distance the gun's sensor can see all parts of the sensor bars. When the laser (In non-calibration mode) lights up strong, you're in the right spot. (I use a small, ~19-20 inch TV, and stand about 2-2.5 yards from it)

Once you get the hang of doing it, calibrating the thing is painless and accurate. I tried using the gun on Time Crisis 3 and had issues with getting it going, as well as full auto fire (Use the full auto switch to use the SMG and it's fine).

Enough negatives here, on to positives. Once you find the sweet spot in relation to your TV, this thing is pretty much spot on. Button placement is flawless, especially the C button in the grip. It's funny, because not only is it convenient, but it really helps with accuracy to grip the gun firmly to depress the C button because it steadies your aim when you pop out in TC. The kick on the gun is nice too, as the slide actually cycles instead of the gun just shaking about. The mechanism didn't hiccup too much even when really jamming on the trigger. If it ever caught, just pull the slide back once and it will work again. The kick can be powered by your console/computer itself, or with a separate plug.

To sum things up, let me just say that I have been playing TC:2 like a madman since this arrived in the mail and I am confident that the gun does not hold back my accuracy at all, even though I had a shaky start with it when I was learning how to get it working properly. Nice kick, awesome button placement, very very good accuracy all outshine minor flaws with the system. Don't miss out on this thing, and stock up on light gun games while the getting's good.

Worths more than the price it stands!
I've payed it to see with my own eyes, after I've bought 2 diferent guns taht haven't work at all with my 29" CRT 100Mhz Prog. Scan TV.
I can't believed that now I can play Gun games on my PS2!
The gun is great: the Recoil system; laser point that can be turned off as you wish; made in a great quality material; Long cable; Also have the female conector under the handle if you wish to plug the reload pedal.
Some times it's hard to callibrate. At my TV, I have to be almost 2 meters from the screen and all lights of the room on.
It still has a bit of inacuracy but seems to be a bunch of pixels to the left (probably it's the stand position that is not correct yet).
WORTH's ALL THE MONEY IT COST! AND IT IS CHEAP!

BEST LIGHT GUN TO THIS DAY !
This is the BEST light gun I've seen so far for any system.

Firstly, it isn't too heavy and is very comfortable to hold. Secondly, it has perfectly placed buttons such as the start button which I have alwys wanted it to be there, and the reload button is on the handle so all you have to do is squeeze the handle to reload or you can use the auto reload switch (very smart idea). There is also a rapid fire switch and this thing also has a laser sighting which can be switched on/off using your thumb of the shooting hand. The gun also has a recoil action that feels very similar to an arcade gun with recoil, except this is not as heavy as an arcade gun and has a rapid fire option. It looks, feels and works great. The only down side is I can't play Letal Enforcers with this kickass gun.

Works well with a little bit of fingerwork
I'm using the LCD TopGun with an X-box and videobeamer (screen width is more than 2 metres). Note: I could note use the gun with the original stands, if you want to use it big size, you have to go for the additional Blaze Stands. Cable extension is also recommended, since with a screen this size, you need to be away at least 5 metres. With this setup, it's very accurate!!! Only negative point: User manual is not very helpful. I wish, there were more Games supporting Light Guns :-(

Play-Asia et LCD Topgun RULES !
Ces pistolets sont trèèèès bien ! Je suis sur PC, j'en ai acheté 2 pour jouer simultanément à 2 joueurs !
Je suis en pleine "période" de configuration et de calibrage (car celle-ci est un peu fastidieuse) mais dès que c'est bon, le plaisir est garanti !

Und es funktioniert tats踄hlich...
Es wurde nicht zuviel versprochen. Die Lightgun funktioniert an meinem PC (mit TFT-Monitor) perfekt. Mit dem Treiber Gun2Mouse lässt sich sogar Windows wie mit einer normalen Maus steuern. Am Beamer muss ich es noch testen, benötige allerdings erst noch viel USB-Verlängerung! :-)

Der eingebaute Laserpointer ist eine sehr große Hilfe beim Zielen. Vor allem lässt er sich perfekt auf die Waffen-Visierung einstellen. Die Waffe selber liegt gut in der Hand. Die Buttons sind klasse positioniert und gut erreichbar.

Für den Artikel selbst gibt es volle Punktzahl.
Abzug gibt es aber deswegen, weil eine detaillierte Anleitung fehlt. Lediglich eine Kurzanleitung auf der Packungsrückseite ist vorhanden (in englisch).

One of the coolest lightgun ever!
I wasnt sure if the claims of that lightgun were true when I ordered it, but wow, it really works well oh my rear projection hdtv!

The only think you need to know is that you have to be in a very dark room, some light source might cause calibration problems. Also you need to be at a certain distance from the screen, depending on the width of your giant screen

It worked perfectly for me, I could easily shoot in any corners without any problems. The recoil action is nice, I like how the reload button is actually integrated into the gun grip, make it easy to reload just by squeezing it, and it's place somewhere when you wont accidently activate it at random moments.

Worked great on PS2 and XBOX, but to play on a PC you need to fiddle with config utils, so be prepared. PS2/Xbox works straight out of the box
