This is the very first edition of the Victor (Japanese name for JVC) Saturn. Victor supplied the CD-ROM drive for the Saturn, but also had a license agreement with Sega. This meant that they, just like Hitachi, could release their own version of the Saturn. Yamaha had a similar deal, but never released a version of their own.
This version has a second LED on the front display showing access of the CD. This is the first version Victor Saturn (V-Saturn for short). The RG-JX1 as it was named, features a two-tone grey colour with a black panel around the on/off and reset buttons. These were oval, just like the first grey Sega produced Saturn's.
The unit features "V-Saturn on the top of the machine, a name that later repeats itself in the boot up screen. The version sold here is the version with a long box.
