description
Terrorists have seized control of Alaska's Shadow Moses Island nuclear disposal facility. Led by members of FOXHOUND, the Next Generation Special Forces are demanding that the government turn over the remains of Big Boss. If their demands are not met within 24 hours, they're threatening to detonate a nuclear device. Unwilling to negotiate with terrorists, the government turns to its best man: the legendary Special Forces veteran Solid Snake. It's up to Snake alone to infiltrate the base, free VIP hostages, and end the nuclear threat--but not everything on Shadow Moses Island is as it seems.
Come March, Nintendo gamers will experience Metal Gear Solid in all its GCN glory. Under the guidance of Konami's Hideo Kojima and Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo's exclusive second-party developer, Silicon Knights, has worked with Konami to create Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes; a revamped remake of the beloved original Metal Gear Solid. Prior to working on Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Silicon Knights developed last year's award-winning GCN game, Eternal Darkness. The result of this dream team match up is a game that improves upon every aspect of the Playstation game while retaining the spirit of the beloved original. In fewer words, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes borders on Metal Gear perfection.
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes combines the thrilling story of the original Metal Gear Solid game with the jaw-dropping graphics and unparalleled gameplay found in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. The changes to the original Metal Gear Solid range from the subtle to the substantial--and all of them make the game well worth playing, even for those that mastered the original. The graphics are the most easily recognizable change--the brilliantly-designed characters and environments leap off the screen with some of the best visuals yet seen on the GCN. The Twin Snakes also features highly-immersive audio--perfect for the game's intense stealth sequences.
In addition to huge visual and audio improvements, the developers have incorporated all of the best gameplay advances found in Metal Gear Solid 2, including first-person view shooting, hiding in lockers and a wide-variety of special attacks and moves. Nearly all of the original cut scenes have been redone, giving hardcore Metal Gear Solid fans a wealth of new cinematics.
The stunning next-generation graphics, epic storyline and unmatched stealth/action gameplay designed specifically for mature gamers make Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes one of the year's most hotly anticipated GCN titles.

Amazing game
The cinematics are absolutely breathtaking. Feels like you're watching a movie. A must by for hardcore fans and newcomers.

Impressive
However, if you're familiar with the original PS game, you might be disappointed since it's pretty much a verbatim remake.
Most of the "new" stuff is non-interactive, and the gameplay additions from MGS2 (such as hiding in lockers, hanging off ledges etc) don't really change the game much at all- No matter how much this has been dressed-up, it's still MGS1 at heart and plays almost exactly the same. Plus, I feel the inclusion of first-person aiming/shooting makes it a bit easier than the original was.
It's still an excellent game- especially if you've never played the original before, but Capcom did a better job of remixing an old game for the GC with their BIOHAZARD remake. That stayed true to the original, but also had enough new stuff to surprise veterans. Twin Snakes doesn't really have enough of this to make it an essential purchase if you've already played the PS version.

Ahh... nostalgia!
This remake, this reincarnation of the massively popular Playstation title is indeed a very welcomed proposition to the GameCube’s missing line up of AAA quality software from third parties.
So with that in mind, it offers the same level of gameplay quality that a number of Nintendo gamers might have passed up on when first released on the Playstation back in 1998.
Well this is their chance to experience the gameplay that spawned a new genre of fans. That’s not a mention that fans of the Metal Gear series will not love the added special effects and cinematography on offer here. Splendid stuff!
There is nothing to loose, especially at the current special price!

Fantastic
The acclaimed storyline makes this game a movie that you play. Konami teamed with Silicon Knights to totally upgrade the graphics, and combine all the extensive feature from Metal Gear Solid: The Sons Of Liberty. It looks awesome. The new features include, for example, jump out shots, first person view mode, and AI guard intelligence.
It's action going slightly sci-fi. There are a lot of "matrixy" bits, but these all add to the cinematic quality, and are truly awe inspiring.
