Wonderful
This is a wonderful little beat 'em up with RPG game mechanics that will prove frustrating to those who aren't familiar with this hybrid genre.

Whoops
After a loooog playtest of this game id like to move on from my initial review and urge people to give this one a go as almost all of the original characters are unlockable and playabe in story mode upon completion and more besides, as the game progresses players are rewarded with a sonically and visually rewarding experience that is well worth the outlay, done be put off by my initial thoughts buy in confidence knowing that with hard work this is one thta trully gives back

Guardian What the
If anyone remembers what a great game the original was they will at frirst at least be bitterley dissapointed with what is on offer her gone are the four very unique characters with their own specials and standard moves, replaced by three characters(all guys ???) who are in essence clones with exactly the same moves bar the inclustion of slightly different special moves.
There is a nice parry system whereby you can grab an enemies attack, and the game does look and sound beautiful.
If you can be bothered to persivere there are some homages to the old game in there along with some glimpses of the old characters as enemies, which will no doubt bring tears to your eyes as they seem to retain most of their move and readily dazzle you with a wide array of motions as you are restricted to your limited arsenal.
Overall a great opportunity thet they tried to revitalise. as the adage goes if it aint broke

Its a sequel!
Its already been announced that this game is a sequel to the Saturn version of the game, and not a port as some people have suggested.
This would therefore make it the third game in the "Heroes" series, following on from Gunstar Heroes on the Megadrive and Guardian Heroes on the Saturn.
Can Treasure make this work? Well you only have to check out Astro Boy on the GBA to see just what they can do with Nintendo's little handheld. :D
