Okay if you liked the 99 - 2k1 era If you liked the NESTS saga, you'll like this. If you want a KOF history lesson, wait until the "SNK The Best" version comes out (cheaper). The three titles on this CD are pretty well emulated. The controls are a little stiff, and the presentation isn't as good as in the Orochi collection. 99 evo in particular is not that great (poorly ripped right from the dreamcast version). The loading screens are disgusting and look like they were done in MSPaint. There is an option to play the original Neo Geo mode, which isn't as smooth, but has an English language option and is almost perfectly emulated. Why the English option wasn't included in the main versions, I have no idea.
As for the games, they're not exactly classics, but they are enjoyable. 2k1 is the game Eolith created after it took the reigns from SNK after their fall. 2k1 has some pretty great characters that, according to SNK Playmore, you will most likely never see in a KOF game again.
These are the transition games between old school KOF and new school KOF, and deserve to be played by any KOF fan.
