excellent fighting game for the first season of Naruto, with a cool soundtrack and exquisite graphics. Highly recommended for all fans.

Best of the 4
For me Taisen 3 has everything you need. Taisen 4 is fun but I could care less about all the Curse forms. Definitely miss out on the couple extra modes in 4 but Taisen 3 is my personal favorite regardless. Plus I like having the two classic Sasuke's rather than the choices available (or absent) in 4.

The shop can become annoying and it can be a bit grueling attempting to rack up enough cash for all the characters, but if you manage to find a save file online, you won't have that problem. 4 does a one up of simply meeting requirements and unlocking characters through them automatically.

The second i found out about thi game, i was like" Wow, so they are coming out with a third one". So i kept watching videos on this game on youtube then I found out where to get it.I orderd it yesterday and i am so happy! Anyway this game looks really great. I'm going to play with naruto( all 3 versions-Naruto,OTK Naruto, and Tai Jutsu Naruto) And Yondaime( 4th Hokage). This is going to be awesome!

PS: I forgot to say that every one has specials, you get to charge up the Rasengan-Chidory(Raikiri0, and they re did the story mode so you can climb on buildings and jump off of walls. I'mtelling you that this is one of the best Naruto games ever!

I agree that this game kicks some major butt. If you add up all the time me and my friends have spent playing it's prob'ly equal over a year. It is really great, 42 playable charcters (Not including the special forms like OTK Naruto, CS2 Sasuke, etc.) a bunch of stages, also a Story AND RPG mode that'll have you playing for hours. Not to mention all've the extra stuff you can collect in the Naruto's Home mode. But yeah, as said already in a comment before me, once you've done everything it can get old playing by yourself, so I kinda wait for friends to come over or something considering I can have almost full HP and beat all the computers on very hard mode now, friends are more of a challenge ^.^; But hey, that's natural, everygame is like that after you mastered it. So, if you haven't already, BUY THIS GAME!!! Since the price has dropped considerably since I bought it it shouldn't be too much trouble right?

Woooooo!!!! this game is in a league of it own, I mean it is got 3 times as many charecters as ultimate ninja and you can get alternative forms like drunken Lee and the RPG mode is smoken hot graphics. Turely a Hall of Fame title. I would rate this to be 1 of the 50 games to buy before you die.

Fun but repetitive
I have to say that when I first got this game I went crazy playing 24 hours in the first 3 days. I have beaten everything but it can get repetitive. I now have to let it sit for a couple days so that I get my interest back again. I am now soon going to get accel and GNT4. Don't get me wrong I definitely think you should get this game.

Mostly Mikomi Con and I was sooo attached, my friends had to drag me off of the game. A good amount of characters, and the right characters were on there. Any Naruto fan, this is a game for you. Or Yondaime will raise from his grave and come for you *scary voice*

I'll keep this short and sweet.
This IS the best fighting game ever created on PS2, It's not hard to work out what people are saying in it if you don't speak japanese (like me) just look for something suspicios on the map etc.
Anyway graphics are average but with the gameplay and lifespan you will forget about the details on the graphics and will fall in love with the game.
This is a -MustBuy- for NarutoFan's and a highly recommended for those who aren't.
I bought this in March and I'm still playing it, so BUY IT!!!

P.S. You unlock Yondaime/Fourth Hokage buy unlocking every other character.

language barrier
the game is quite fun in the vs mode, but i'm struggling in the story mode because of the language barrier. they give you missions, but i can't understand them. i haven't looked for faqs yet. However, moving around in the game is already quite "cool." It doesn't have the best graphics but everything else is quite well made.

A game based on manga and anime, but...
This game, however, is actually impressive. Sure, the story mode and the "missions" bring a bit of a weak background, but the game focuses mostly on the gameplay. Boasting over forty characters, Narutimett Hero 3 has a wide variety of character-specific and highly stylized jutsu ("techniques") and ougi ("ultimates"). Even so, some of the jutsu are interchangeable. For example, Sakura may be seen using Sasuke's Chidori; Itachi may be seen using Shizune's Dokukiri; et cetera.
And...regardless of any language barriers that may be present, the game shouldn't be difficult for anyone to figure out. Besides, I'm sure there are plenty of FAQs out there for assistance.

Help for Shadow .....
Shadow a way to unlock 'Flash' 4th Hokage is to date hanabi twice then to use the code to unlock all characters except for da 4th. its fairly easy to find hanabi and date her-she be where her father stands in story mode. But finish story mode also cuz the game is short.Wit da 4th 1 fact is he can b a pain to use n go against. he is a dble-edged sword!! Off topic a bit but i hate that chidori can b used by lots of char. but rasengan is only 4 naruto,4th n jiraiya. I hope this helps.PS- im #1 in dis game....

Well Naruto Narutimett Hero 2 was good also, but 3...
It's terrible good.
It has a lot of speed, you can do Kawarimi, combos, serveral Jutsu's, you can do a pose, there are very much special attacks which you can choose from a menu before. Also you can choose you to execute the attack continous button pushing, combo pusching, or circle analog stick.
In adition to that Naruto3 has got a great number of characters, but not only that: every chacter that has another form in the series can be played in another form also... like Naruto and Kyuubi Naruto, but also Gaara and Shukaku Gaara.
Among the characters there are rare ones like 2nd Hokage Nidaime, First Hokage Shodaime and even 4th hokage Yondaime.

One of the best anime games and 2d fighting games, whatsoever !

I have the same question as Raven.
Because it says "For JPN/Asian systems only", will it not play in a U.S PS2? I don't want to buy the game if it won't work for me.

Hi, it's me again: travis. I know I have not played nh1 or nh2 but seriously, who cares when it comes to nh3. Bettter than gnt1,2,3, and 4 all combined!!!!!! Just think about it .Gnt is just another straight up fighting game. In nh3, you feel like you are in a REAl ninja battle, having the abilty to run and jump around, use weapons and the sustution jutsu. Not to mention the summoning jutsu and the special attacks. whichever you choose, it's fine with me although I prefer Nh3. If you get this, you will NOT regret it!!! believe it, as Naruto would say!!!!

This game is so good that part 4 has alot of pressure to be a great game. Hands down the best fighting game out on ps2 now. Budokai Tenkaichi 1 had no fighting mechanics and part 2 might be the same. Super DBZ isnt so super as it claims to be. Naruto 3 , a 10/10, crushing the competition except for Bleach, which can hold its own with the top dogs .

The amount of characters is stunning. 42 normal, along with summons and second forms (such as CS2, Kyuubi, Drunken Lee, etc.). The gameplay is great. It's not very hard to understand what's going on once you get used to it. Although, in RPG Mode, you have to just buy everything and talk to everyone. It gets tedious, but I beat it my second day. It is definately a must-have for any Naruto fan.

this is easily the greatest Naruto game ever. Graphics, gameplay, voice acting, everything was amazing. Like someone said, it does get a little boring after beating RPG and Story mode. But it's fun if you have someone to play with. (I still havent played it with anyone yet, sine i've only had it for a couple of days.) It isnt that hard to play, and I do not know any japanese. I'm a big fan of the series of games released for Naruto, and this is easily the best one that has been released. With a vast selection of characters and literally hours upon hours of things to keep you occupied, it doesn't even matter if you're familiar with the series or not. The gameplay is excellent, the music is gorgeous, the visuals are simply amazing, and the whole thing is totally enthralling. If you buy only one Naruto game, let this be the one. It's the one most worth your money.

NH3 is probably the best single player Naruto game on the market today, but if you are wanting multiplayer action I would recomend NGNT4 on the cube. In terms of multiplayer NGNT4 beats NH3 5 to 1.

Simply the best fighting game of 2006
Naruto has truely evolved in this years release of Narutimate Hero 3. Naruto is an anime title that centers around Naruto Uzumaki, a 12 year old student in Leaf ninja academy. His dream is to someday become the next fire shadow (Hokage), the strongest ninja in the village. Along his journey he meets teammates and friends Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno. The go on adventures along th way with they're teacher Kakashi Hatake.

The grapgics in this game are breath taking and beautiful. Game play is simular to games such as Super Smash Brothers and Jump Superstars, and is easy for anyone to get into, yet challenging enough to master. My only complaint is that all the ninja's from the anime didn't appear in this years title. It would have been nice to see some of the ninja's in the chunnin exams in the story mode.

All in all, Narutimate hero 3 is a lot of fun and better than the two games previous to it. ^_^

first things first.. as a fan the game pleases because of the new characters. but as a gamer, id say its an utter disappointment. the graphics in the game are not well done except for the supers of each character. the cut scenes from these "supers" gives naruto fans what they want. but when you see everything it just bores the hell out of me. the effects when charging your chakra is dull, even the kawarimi no justu animation. why have a very long chakra bar if it doesnt fill up faster? i like NH 2 better. and hey the summons mode super are even duller? why not make a custom animation than controlling them. they could only fire stuff from their mouths and can pull a punch or two but can they move? bandai's concept is good but they just did not deliver. they made so many characters and improved super cut scenes but they forgot about its effects, sound, the life bar the combo stuff, they just pleased fans by adding great characters. the hokages play nice and konohamaru is the joke character of the game. oh yeah the drunk rock lee. the 2nd level mode of characters like naruto and sasuke of the sound five. those were great additions but overall i would suggest this for die hard naruto fans. they overhauled the series but not quite. really. im a fan of the series. and yes i can say that it is a fun game for the first few weeks but it gets boring when youve played it on and on and on.. theres this weak rpg mode and stuff to buy to custom the characters jutsu's but its really not a great addition.

Overall NH 3 as a gamer is not really fun but as a fan its fun to play because almost every character can be seen in action. Bandai concentrated on putting all 40 characters and forgot to pay attention to some of its elements. but hey its still a good game. but not really great

I've never played any other naruto video game and I really want to get this because so far, everything I've read makes is sound SO amazing and I'm so excited. I like the game, like i liked NH 2 and NH 1.
It's fun and challenging and you don't get bored with it. The game comes with an anime-dvd as an extra and it even has a memory-card stand with it. So the extras are excellent.
The game itself is pretty much like we have already known it: good! ^_^
There are a lot of new techniques and some new characters. The music is nice and the graphics could be a little bit better but i am more than satisfied with what i got.

Bah, i should mention some points that i didn't like so much. The graphics could be a little better. The story mode is very cheap...there is not really any story. It's rather pure fighting and just a pretext to unlock the different characters...However that doesn't mean it gets boring. On the other hand the RPG mode is done pretty fine, and i had a lot of fun playing through that part.

The Naysayers had their doubts...
Between NH2 and NH3, nothing was really added to the game to enhance the single player experience. Instead of spending all their time working on a single player experience, Bandai spent the entire year working and revamping the fighting engine for NH3. For the better...

Lets face it, there have always been two camps when it comes to Naruto games. Which is the better series, NH or GNT? GNT was more fun as a simple get-together party game, while NH had the more serious gameplay but was no where near as fun. But with the release of NH3, even some of the most die-hard GNT fanboys are coming out of the woodwork to pick up this game.

The past year spent on this game has done several things: the game is more fun then it has ever been. NH2 was nowhere near as fun as NH1; and NH3 is better then the both. The fighting engine now has a built in combo and punish system, officialy marking it as a serious competetive fighting game. Chakra control is much more essential now and it limits the abilities of any single character to overpower another. Unlike most other fighting games, this one is surprisingly balanced as the counter system centralizes the game on personal skill rather then character tiers.

Even if you didn't like NH2, I recommend you at least try NH3 with an open mind. I know many who absolutely hated the NH series before this game; but now after playing NH3, they wont even touch GNT4. Don't listen when people claim NH3 is a "fan-service" game, as they are just naysayers who didn't even give the game a chance. In Japan, GNT is considered the fan-service game.

i've been playing the GC and ps2 naruto games since their first itterations, and this, is by far, THE BEST NARUTO GAME EVER! but don't get me wrong, i love both GNT! and NH. its just that after suffering from the utter dissapointment that it GNT!4, i was waiting on this game like a crack fiend.

this game has everything that i ever wanted in a naruto game. they took what was awesome about NH1 and 2 and improved on it sooo much. improved visuals, combat system, characters, ougis, jutsus, everything you can think of, its in there. adding one ougi phase to the mix, as well as slower chakra regen adds so much more strategy to fights.

the story mode relives all of the most important fights in the series, and the rpg mode is an original story about a genin vs. jounin contest.

this game has sooo many characters to offer, even the 1st, 2nd, and 4th hokages (yellow flash)

this game is worth every penny, and if you thought GNT!4 was a complete dissapointment, you will not not go wrong when importing this treasure.

At first i reallly wanted this game no matter what because bandai made the previews look really awesome. So i got it, and played it for 30 minutes, tried out some ultimate jutsus for some characters, and i really didnt seem to enjoy it, because the jutsus seemed too short. Therefore, i was kind of tipping to NH2 again. But tehn, after playing RPG mode and the mode below it, i unlocked some new characters and new jutsus and stuff and it started to become awesome. I just played 2 hours of it and the developers did a good job in the rpg mode. ITS A 3D WORLD!
One thing i did enjoy was the fact that the makers actually put 3d cutscenes in the mode below RPG mode. That was pretty cool.
Another cool addition was the charging attacks, and the encounter after that! PWNAGE! but they sorta jocked dbz budokai 3 from that..
Naruto crazy fans should definitely no matter what get this game. Though there may be very minor graphic flaws and short jutsus, the actual gameplay is awesome and the story is very intersting. I would also reccommend for people who would have spare time to play this. MAKE THIS YOUR MISSION NARUTO FANS! GO OUT AND PLAY NARUTIMETT HERO 3! Your first mission assigned by GAI SENSEI!

P.S.: I like gai sensei better than Kakashi because kakashi has this weird uncaring attitude that makes him as if he's implying that he's cocky. what kinda ninja is that. On the other hand, gai might be ugly, but he's strong willed and determined. He can kill any ninja he wants in any level...he'll just kill himself by opening many gates...

Hey, this game is off the hook. In no way should you not think about playing this game. NH3 is obviously the best one since you can play as many different characters as well as unleash some really powerful jutsus. You can now choose what way you want to see who has the better hand when doing your specials. (button mash or button sequence)

I love the variety of characters and how all the ones so far have really insane specials. Like Naruto's crazy Kyuubi chakra form and especially Sasuke in his 2nd lvl curse seal form.

The game is intense and very fast pace so be ready for some really crazy fighting between you and the opponent. This game is a got to play and a got to get if you have a PS2. No joke. The graphics have turned out to look nearly liek a 3D rendition of the manga. People must play this game or must not play any game at all. omg must get back to playing it.

Despite a few graphical glitches, I really enjoy this game. There are many different characters to play, it's true to the series it's based off of, and it's perfect for get-togethers with friends. We always play this game for hours. It's very varied as well, and you certainly don't get bored of it fast!

I love this game to death. It's sheer brilliance, the controls are easy to understand and quickly get used to, and the battles themselves are very intense. Graphics are beautiful. Addicting as anything, so it's worth every penny for how long you'll be playing it. Only down side is the camera... it's a little wild on a few stages.

After hearing about it from my friends, I decided I should just import it myself, so I did. Best decision I ever made, with lots of characters to choose from and crazy battle action, this game will keep all Narutards up at night trying to beat the next mission!

Great game but just a small update
Naruto GNT3 is a fast fighting game with lots of combo's and beautifully cell-shaded characters. If you own GNT2, this is just a small update (some new backgrounds, 9 new characters). Wait for the fourth part instead. If you don't own a previous one or only the first game, it's one game you shouldn't miss, wether you like Naruto or don't even know what it is.

This game is more than well worth the price. It's a game that fighting game fans, and Naruto fans can enjoy equally. Truely, the only reason I keep my gamecube is for the Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! Games.
If you're a Naruto fan, you may be disapointed with a few things, namely the lack of some characters which were not included. The story mode only coveres 2 more arcs from where the second did (Itachi and Tsunade's arcs are added)
If you're a fighting fan, there will be absolutly nothing wrong with this game in your oppinion. Solid characters, combos, and thinking in every character. Plus, fights are fast and furious (unlike the PS2 Naruto games, which are at a little slower pace)

Das Spiel Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3 ist einfach nur Hammer geil. Ich muss ein großes Lob an Play-Asia richten. In nur 10 Tagen war das Spiel bei mir Zuhause in Deutschland. Man kann ganze 29 Charakter spielen. Die Level sind mit SEHR guter Musik bestückt. Das Game bekommt von mir 100% Sound, Qualität, Grafik und Geschwindigkeit. Es ist das beste Spiel was ich seit langem mal wieder gespielt habe (habe als ich es hatte 2 Tage lang Non Stop gespielt). Man wird einfach süchtig nach diesem Spiel (im Positiven Sinne). Es ist das Geld auf jeden Fall wert!!! Note: 1+++

I love this game. There's nothing else as instantly fun as the four player mode. It has solid game play, great graphics, and levels of intricacy that can take you months to master. It's also easy to pick up and have fun, and the many different game play modes and characters give it a long term play value.

This is a great game. Although it's missing some Sound ninjas like Kabuto and the sound-wielders. However, it is still a great game with a lot of replay value and many unlockables. I hope the fourth installment will have every characters including Kimimaro and the alternate power-ups such as the Cursed Seal.

I got it last year November, and have literally played it every day since, it just never gets old, especially if you're a fan of the series.

The individual characters fighting styles have been so successfully realised in this game that you find yourself startegising your game based on the nature of the character youve grown to love from the series, rather than just planning moves like you would for any other fighting game.

As expected this game is one of the greatest fighting games to come out yet. This game is everything that Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! 2 is and more. The game is most definately accurate with the anime. And if you havent' watched the anime or read the manga its still a good game to get as a fighter genre. Veryu good graphics and sound!In the begginning it is sort of hard because it tell you to do B then A. When I was at my friends house we went phyco with the controls.Finnaly we did it. Later I got it and went wild,too. Later when Iruka throws you when you fall on the ground just press B A. Any way if you play Naruto Gekitou ninja Taisan 2 you'll get the controls. The new charcters are great!!! I highly reccomend this game,so order it right now!!!!!!!!!!!

Play Asia you rock man. I ordered the game on 12/20 and it arrived 12/22...i was shocked when i recieved it...that extra money for the best shipping was well worth it. no im already sitting back and beating all my friends at the game.

It's Gaara's fault! If he hadn't killed Dosu so early in the show, they probably would have put him in the game already! Make some variety Tomy!! You should put in Konohamaru!!
