SNK Playmore releases the latest installment of the King of Fighters series as KOF XI returns with new and old characters to join the fight. The visuals have been improved and the gameplay has been enhanced. A 5th button is now the thrust attack (CD) from previous games as well as guard and stun meters added to increase the action. Skill points now exist with a max of two and they build on their own as well as giving you three options to use. Quick shift allows an immediate tag-in to extend combos, Saving shift interrupts an opponents attack if it connects, and Dream Cancel allows a super move to cancel into the team leader's LDM. With added modes and options, fans of KOF will surely find this one worthy for their collection.
KOFXI is excellent! I bought KOFXI when it came out the first time, and I have to say, having the game for over a year now, I'm still playing it. The game system is excellent with quick shifts, combos, and the large cast amount of characters. This is a MUST BUY fighter for those who are into hardcore tourneys (or try to go to them) and for the casual fighting game players out there. Or if you just like the KOF series, this is again, a MUST BUY!
King of Fighters XI I can't believe I waited a whole year to get this game. KoF XI is one of the best fighting games to come out in a long time. Highly recommended for the 2-d fighting fan!
Pretty Good This game was my first import. I play allot of fighting games and was told that this was the best King of Fighters ever. Right of the bat you will notice that this series is finnaly new user friendly as all the special moves are easy to pull off. The graphics are no were near the quality of Guilty Gear and the animation although no were near Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike are still pretty good. Overall this is a fast moving well balanced and fun game and any King of Fighter fan should not miss it. On a final note I find it curious that bolth the character animation and graphics of these characters is much better in Capcom vs SNK2. I hope that in the future SNK brings the graphics up to modern standards as it would undoubtably be in a leauge all its own at that point.
This game owns all KOFs Not only is this game fun but it is actually a challenge,esppecially on the hardest difficulty,Kof fans must have this game,MUST,It took about a week but it was definitly worth it...

Character roster is tight, engine is rock solid and Oswald is a beast. Lots of people are still playing 2002 in my area, and should be playing this. So should you.
If you know your Kof, you should try XI(and Snk FINALLY cleaned up the visuals- xi looks great on arcade and PS2).
i love kofXI eleven this is a very great game~ i agree with everyone on this board who made topics about how its one of the best kof and everyone who gave it 5stars. its true, i was kinda surprised about that yagami move being gone, the only thing that was a real dissappointment was robert, he wasnt in kofXI, and then i found out you could unlock him in extra character, but what sux he's NGBC version(which i dont like!) i think 2003 robert was the best and wish 2k3 robert made an appearance in kofXI or beable to unlock secretly!
Very Good 9/10 this game was made very well and i love the dream cancel and super cancel abilities. didnt like how they took off Yagami's 'Bloom of the Wolf' as a part of his 'Rage of the Eight Maidens' combo like it was from KoF 03'. also, THEY BROUGHT BACK KYO'S GROUND FIRE BALL!! now that is something to behold. just got done beating it and the final character is a freakin *** hole!! i hate him with a passion! all together!! great games and grewat new characters!! deffinitely 5 stars. and this isnt the bootleg game. iots the official playmore stuff!!
p.s. still cant get over the fact that his bloom of the wolf is gone!!
I have to agree you will not be upset after you play kofXII. i recently just bought the game and im loving it! im probably going to buy a few more copies for X-mas gifts and let my other relatives play it. its neat and i give it 10stars, too bad 5 is the highest it can get!
kof XI owns this kofXI is better then most fighting games out there right now such as GGX and street fighter.
snk is getting better at fighters and this is it. the ultimate match, the ultimate adventure,the ultimate game! buy this and you wont feel sorry, you will feel like million dollars after you play this

the character selesction is awesome (aside from the absence of old favorites)
the gameplay is fast and furious, and allows you to be even more creative when it comes to combos and what-not. (something that's quite uncommon in KoF)
arranged mode makes the game a lot more balanced than the original arcade mode.
color edits are awesome...(you can even edit the flames!!)

Well Worth It! So far I've been pretty satisfied with my purchase of KOFXI (my very first import AND KoF game). The game arrived in about a week and a half, and using swap magic loaded up with little difficulty. Compared to something like Guilty Gear or Street Foghter Alpha, the graphics don't look great at first sight, but after an hour of play you'll stop noticing and just plain stop caring. The game is so good (and has a nice challenge too) that graphics really don't matter.
Where it counts (menus), the game is in english. However, things like challenge mode, story elements/dialogue, and movelists are all in japanese. Even for the movelists though, they give you the button presses in easy to read diagrams. If you want the unlockable characters and stuff, you should probably find a guide in english online.
If you like 2-d games and fighters, and have in interest in playing a KoF game, you really can't go wrong with this title. Just be sure your PS2 can play Japanese games.
Best one ever.... I have played all king of fighters and this is by far the most fun I have had in a long while. This game stayed in my ps2 for almost a whole month with out being taken out . Buy it now you wont regret it.

kof needs to stay 2-d. kof dont let 2-d die well i played this game so much, and i so love it to death. i want snk to keep making kof 2-d and even if its 50 years from now. as long as there is new characters and different backgrounds. i will keep playing and never get tired of it. thanks snk for making such a great game.
i cant wait for kofXII this game is so perfect! brilliantly done in its own appeal. i was very impressed with this game out there in the fighting game world. this looks like it might be one of snks best selling kof. i think this will sell more copies then 2003. i bought this game a week ago, i use to play it all the time in arcade,maybe spent close to 75$(not at one time), but about that much on kof xi in the arcade. it was so fascinating, i cant wait for kof xII,the extra characters, in this kof we got characters from kizuna encounter,buriki one,and GMOTW! brilliant snk, they are now taking characters from older snk games and throwing them in kof. thats so awesome! thatswhat i want to see, i want to see who appears in kofXII, like secrets and extras,will they be from world heroes,samurai spirits,kizuna and buriki again? oh i can hardly wait! so awesome!

Truly The King I'm moved. Everything here is just so perfect! There is a rediculous amount of freedom on the field, the pacing is quick, the soundtrack is great (after all these years); killer roster, correct balance, accurate controls. If SNK/Playmore keep this up they'll be back in full form! Just a shame that SNK USA was never on the same page. Their loss. Please, import without reservation! This is the best King of Fighters ever made!
Oh Yeah......... This is the best King Of Fighters ever, this is better then 98! they should release this game worldwide. they're starting to make kof games once every 2 years now but its worth it. someone tryed to tell me the series is dying out, not really! they are taking and investing more time now, so they can make it better then the last one. this kof is definitely better then all the kofs put together even better then 98. i want to see future kof games like this(2-d ones). Woooo Hoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure Capcom fanatics will try to find something about this game to cry about, but Playmore has officially surpassed the gaming dynamics of Capcom. Somehow they managed to add quick shift, dream cancel, and new kick back button without compromising the fun factor. The controls are smooth and combos are plentiful. The characters are well balanced (Maxima/Beni/Athena are back to normal :-). I'm thankful my favorite characters Terry, King, and Vanessa were not neutered. I salute you SNK/Playmore, and will continue to buy your games and marvel at your future success. I will definitely be in the arcades to enjoy the competitive atmosphere that this game will surely create. To all KOF fans in the States, grab an arcade stick, practice, and head to your local arcade to compete. We need to create a tournament scene for these games.

Best. KOF. Ever. This game has it all. Vastly improved graphics, huge roster of characters (some with redone sprites!), new and improved moves and DM's (SDM's and LDM's also), awesome new soundtrack, fantastic new backgrounds that take advantage of the hardware, faster paced gameplay that's actually the most exciting in KOF history...the list goes on. If you're an SNK fan, you owe it to yourself to import this bad boy NOW. And in doing so, I HIGHLY recommend play-asia. Their service is fast and their prices are the lowest you'll find online. Better than '98! SNK Playmore really made the leap this time! If you thought KOF 2003 was good, this game will blow you away! Buy this Game! Ive been a street fighter fan for years, I'm talkin since the original street fighter 2 was released. I never could afford a Neo Geo so never really experianced KOF games. I wish I could turn back the clock because this game and KOF98 and 99 for the Dreamcast has officially made me a KOF Fan. this is by far one of the greatest 2d fighters Ive come acroos if not the greatest.
Excellent KoF Game I came in rather late to the KoF franchise and this is the first KoF game I've purchased. I am wholly impressed with KoF XI. In the 6 hours since it arrived I have not been disappointed with any aspect of the gameplay or graphics. Kudos to SNKP for this one.
Next Gen Kof I had played this in the arcade so i thought i knew what to expect with the port...i was wrong. The game graphics are the best yet for the series and the gameplay engine seems better balanced in the arranged mode. Challenge mode is a little crazy but the unlockables are worth it. This is the best game i've imported, can't wait for Kof XII. Thank you SNKP
Athena LIVE STAGE makes me wanna clap! ...Ok forget what I just said. But this game has alot more things you can do. Not only does it give you the Arcade mode and the usual practice and 1 on 1 matches but it also gives you the arrange mode which makes you feel like you got two games in one. Not only that, you get challenge mode and even unlocking additional characters. It's worth the what you get.
SNKP's Best Port By Far Anyone who has seen KOFXI in the arcades knows very well that this game has truly redefined KOF for the future. Not only is it a beautiful game asethetically, but it is a fun and enjoyable game too, with a new game system engine and sporting many characters, old and new. The PS2 port is certainly excellent, and SNKP has added a lot more goodies/extras than their usual ports. My only gripe is that KOFXI seems to have sound quality issues, as the sound effects seem to be muffled (which was also found in some of their other games, like Last Blade).
Playasia also provided the best quality customer service anyone can ask for. Using courier mail, my game arrived the very NEXT DAY, while all of the local stores in my country were just ordering it on the day of its release. Playasia got the game much earlier, which is a testimont to how excellent they are.
