Beat every warlord and rule the country! Sengoku Basara takes places in the medieval Sengoku era in Japan. You play as one of 16 historical warlords and fight your way through legions of foot soldiers.
Similar to Koei's popular Sengoku Musou (Dynasty Warriors) series, Sengoku Basara is a typical hack'n slash action game; hundreds of soldiers have to be defeated on the battlefield. Once the end of an area has been reached, you will engage in a one-on-one duel against the enemy warlord fighting over the ruling territory.
Each playable character features its own set of special attacks and battle skills. Though the warlords are based on real historical figures, the actual battles taking place are a work of fiction.
Sengoku Basara has been produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi (of Resident Evil 4 fame) and Makoto Tsuchibayashi (Devil May Cry) has been in charge of the character design.
