Lives up to the name
Perfect for all Melty Blood fans, it has several new characters, new Type-Moon crossovers (for the Type-Moon fans) and several new features integrated into the system. The ability to play as Ryogi Shiki was a dream come true and the soundtrack is truly wonderful to the ears.
Do yourself a favor and buy this immediately. You can't go wrong, bring the life back into your Ps2!

No title
A fun, easy to learn 2D fighting game. If you are a fan of Type-Moon or 2D fighters then this is a must buy.

Something about the characters
hmm, on the one hand its a great fighting game, great visuals and combos are awesome. Enjoyable to play with friends.
The drop out is hmm characters tend to be repeated, for example i think i noticed 3 or probably 4 characters who had an alternative character to play with. Think of it as Having a street fighter game, where you can play, ryu, evil ryu, Akuma, shin Akuma, Ken and evil ken. Which honestly drops down the flavor of the original characters. There is even a character who has 2 ! alternative characters ! which is ridiculous in my modest opinion. Another high school student character wearing the Japanese school uniform has another friend of his, who happen to wear the same costume, both the same height and only distinctive difference is the facial expressions. Come to think of it, they are probably the same character, who knows ?.

Again its not a bad game, but these are the thing that will turn you off when choosing a new character hoping that you will experience something new hmm.

Yes 2-D side scroller fighter
It works great on my ntsc-j ps2. Playing shiki and Shinzo Arcueid is a blast. Doesn't take long to figure out how to set the second one to computer and it fights hard.

Melty Blood, Actress Again offers great 2D fighting, fast action, great control, and a lot of fun.
When I first tried playing Melty Blood, Actress Again, I thought I would choke on the poor graphics. I mean, come on, this is PS2 right? However, I was soon taken in by the great game play. The responsiveness of the controllers, the large number of characters, and the ability to select an enormous number of outfits.

Supposedly, there is a rich story line behind each of the characters. Not being able to read Japanese writing, I can only tell you what I’ve seen on the internet, not what I found from playing the game.

(NOTE, you don’t need to be able to read Japanese in order to play this game. The main menus are in English. I didn’t have any trouble at all getting to game play and character selection within minutes of loading the game.)

The story, from what I’ve gathered, is about Sion Eltnam Atlasia who used to be with The Mage’s Association. A group that is concerned with hiding mages from the rest of the world. Sion is destined to become a vampire unless she can find a cure. She tries to get the cure from Arcueid Brunestud. Arcueid doesn’t really have the cure. Sion gets in a fight with Shiki Tohno and Shiki is so impressed that he decides to help Sion,

Luckily, you don’t need to know anything at all about the story to enjoy this great fighting game.

Melty Blood, Actress Again offers great 2D fighting, fast action, great control, and a lot of fun.

For new and old Melty Blood players alike, this is the ultimate Type-Moon fighting game! :3 With a slew of playables, including 6 new characters, a wonderful soundtrack, and many new features including several versions of every character, a new guard system and more, this is sure to entertain any Type-Moon fan whether they're into fighting games or not, casual or hardcore. A must-buy!

Who says the playstation 2 is dead?
whether you are a Type Moon fan or a fighting game fan you need to check this game out. The third game in the series and the best one yet it includes many improvements including multiple versions of each character, larger stages, and more playable characters. It's a lot of fun and easy to pick up. I highly recommend it.

One of the best fighting game for the PS2
If MB Act Cadenza ver. B had been released for the PS2,
I would say this game brings only 2 more fighting styles and a few new characters, without much technical improvement, recommanded for Tsukihime fans only However, when you compare it with its predecessor on PS2, it is definitely a MUST BUY, fan or not.

Don't overlook this for a second.
As a fighting game fan, I do enjoy the genre more than others and so will definetely rate it higher. However, my brothers are not fans of the fighter game genre, but this game pulls us in for hours of gaming with friends. The game is truly great with steller gameplay, solid balance, a wonderful variety of characters and that easy to get into, hard to master approach that makes it so popular in Japan. I recommend to anyone who is interested in something different or for a good fighter game, you can not go wrong by visiting this one.

Great game, even for non fighting game fans!
I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of fighting games, but when I saw this coming out, I figured I had to have it. The smooth gameplay and awesome 2D graphics made me want it, but upon playing it, I was even more astounded by the depth. I'm still not that good at doing all the little moves like canceling and the like, but it still draws me in. If you are new to fighting games, be prepared for a bit of a learning curve. But, if you can master the moves, you'll end up loving this game :D!

Act Cadenza plus 2.5 extra
A great game with three different fighting styles, plus a hidden style reserved for certain bosses and one hidden character. Plus, most of Act Cadenza's features have been retained, with a few new features.

While Melty Blood: Actress Again may not be able to compare to the likes of Street Fighter and KOF, the game still has a variety of choices in your fighting style to keep you playing for days. You have a choice of Act Cadenza's Balanced Style (Crescent Moon), a defensive style (Half Moon) or an all-out attacking style (Full Moon), making the character's movesets variable, which is more noticeble using characters who appeared in Act Cadenza.

Also, a computer-controlled Final Boss has been added to the game that certain characters will face instead of facing a normal character, making it an interesting challenge to complete Arcade Mode. Of course, it would also be fun to play the game with another player.

So, whether you are a fan of any series by Type-Moon or not, this is a game worth playing.

This game has taken quite a stride since Act Cadenza pitting your favourite characters with three fighting styles, adding to the strategy required to beat your opponent.

Actress Again also gives you new characters and Boss rush mode as well as a new story to accompany the cast. With the voices reworked, you'll love your favourite characters even more.

So for a good PS2 fighting game, this game won't disappoint you. If you're a Type-Moon Fan, particularly on the Tsukihime and Kara no Kyokai side of things, you'll love this game.

2D Fighters at its best
This here, is an exceptionally well crafted 2D fighter on offer for the PS2. Excellent visuals, gameplay, and absolutely astonishing soundtrack, coupled with an excellent story and large fighter cast, make this an absolute on-sight, instant purchase.

Firstly, there are three varying fighting styles to choose from which successfully manages to increase depth, not to mention adds to the variety of overall play. This system, given its top-notch implementation, actually adds to the depth of the game, and is not some simple tacked-on feature.

Couple this with what is an overall top of the class fighting system, you have here, an old-school 2D fighter at the top of it's game, and relative genre!

It is quite a worthwhile deal for fans of type-moon. With the addition of 3 new characters, the player experience went up quite a bit. Though I wish the game could have some more stuff like Unlimited codes where you have all the funny missions

Great Sequel
After playing Melty Blood Act Cadenza, I wanted to play the sequel as soon as I got wind of it. I'm SO glad that my friend got me into this game.

2D fighting is -NOT- dead on the PS2 just yet!
This highly anticipated sequel to the first PS2 Melty Blood game (Act Cadenza) meets every expectation. More characters, more modes of gameplay, more bonus features -- it even supports progressive scan!! If you're new to the Melty Blood/Tsukihime games, or just unfamiliar with Type-Moon in general, the solid 2d fighting and hand-drawn melee will surely spark your interest!

A solid 2d fighter
If you played Act Cadenza, get ready for a surprise. This version changes (and improves!) pretty much everything you knew about the game. There's more people, more playing styles, new combos, and even a new boss rush mode! It's just as solid and well rounded as before, so if you're a fan of fast combo-based fighters, this is the defining game to get.

A must have!
I'm not a fan of fighting games (but I'm a Type Moon fan), but love this one. The system with 3 diferente styles made me play with characters I would never play in Act Cadenza. The bigger scenarios are great and I like the music too, although the graphics for the characters are the same. If you like 2d fighting games or if you like Type Moon, you'll mostly like this game too.

Best 2D fighting game on PS2
The true sequel to MB Act Cadenza.

the PS2 port of MB Actress Again brings all you can ask for: 30 characters and 3 styles for each one, to increase even more the depth of the game, 50 stages, voice acted arcade mode, a new Boss Rush mode and most of all a great soundtrack.

the fast-paced/combo-based gameplay will keep you busy for months, it's fun to play, and with all those extras it's eye candy.

if you're a fan of 2D fighting games i highly recommend this. BUY IT!

Actress Again is the best in Melty Blood series and one of the best among 2D fightings) An Impressive characters and inimitable style create a masterpiece from this game! And i hope that we can see next MB on ps3

Top notch 2D fighting done right
Nothing better than an old-school 2D fighter done right. Three different fighting styles to choose from with a large cast of characters to choose between. No matter your taste there's more than enough options for you to decide your favorite fighter and fighting style that suits them best. All in all it easily overshadows Act Cadenza, regardless that it is also a really good game

Melty Blood returns with style!
Although the graphics are the same everything else that made the part one great is better here. A great game for fans of Guilty Gear, Street Fighter, Blazblue. And much better than that let down KOF XII for the "next gen" systems.

Amazing 2d fighter
The jump from Act Cadenza to this is huge. A lot is added, and it's all good additions. Highly recommended for fans of 2d fighters.

Another great 2D fighting game.
I've enjoyed Melty Blood ever since I played ReAct, and this game doesn't disappoint. It has nice animations, a great soundtrack, and a competent battle system, just like the previous games. No complaints here.

The new Moon Style system adds a lot of depth to the characters, essentially giving them three totally different playing styles. It takes a while to adjust to this after playing ReAct and Act Cadenza for so long, but it's definitely a welcome change.

There are also a few new characters, including Michael Roa Valdamjong, Riesbyfe Stridberg, School Uniform Akiha, and Shiki Ryougi. The cast is quite large, now.

If you like fast-paced fighting games, such as Guilty Gear, you'll probably enjoy Melty Blood.

Triple the cast, triple the fun!
The next installment in the Melty Blood series, Actress Again introduces several new game mechanics into the system, including three different fighting styles for each character. The game is largely optimized with little slowdown. The sprites look fairly decent despite the fact the PS2 is an aged system. A worthy purchase!

Are you Ready?!
The 6th installment to the melty blood line up... With the new guard system and 3 new styles (full moon, Half moon, and crescent moon) Melty blood has just re imaged it's self into one for the best 2d fighters to date.

If you are a 2d fighter fan, then this IS a must, Melty Blood offers you a game where all your friends new and old to 2d fighters to pick up and play.

The game got a update on it's graphics and on it's line up... with ryougi shiki making her 1st appearance (Kara no Kyoukai) makes a good addition
to the melty bood line up. Plus gotta love the limited sound track that comes with the limited edition.

Great Sequel
Even though the sprites are still mostly the same, the engine of this 2-D fighter got a major overhaul. 3 styles all with they're own distinct play mechanics for every character. (minus Archetype) Added characters not playable in the arcade release. Console balancing that fixes a few issues and balances the game more...this is the game that you want to buy if you enjoyed Act Cadenza. The bonus soundtrack was a nice addition to the whole set. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Well Made
A great sequel with substantial effort put into it. The different styles give a distinct feel and sometimes dramatically alter how the same character plays. The game is fairly balanced and a lot of fun to play, thus comes highly recommended despite the hefty price tag.

Supposedly the last game in MB Series
This is the definitive version/game to play in the MELTY BLOOD series.

Everything has been expanded, from move sets, to mechanics, to stages, to characters.

If you are a fan of:

1 - 2D
2 - Combo-heavy games like Guilty Gear, Arcana Heart , or BlazBlue
3 - Tsukihime

then get this game.

This is supposedly the last game in the MB series, so DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS LITTLE GEM!

Love the fight
I have never seen a fighting game ever with more love put into it than this one. The simple fact that the different styles not only change the special moves but the normals as well warrents a purchase.

the game itself improves on act cadenza in so many ways, a true joy to play. lots of extras in this one as well.
only complaints is that they should've put all the bosses in the boss rush mode, and also given Archetype:Earth her own sprite. other than that there's nothing else lacking. if you can afford it, BUY IT!

I'm liking it
My skills are a bit rusted ever since I got Act Cadenza, but the extras are all the more reason to get it. I'm still practicing the character's fighting styles, but its still worth playing when you have the time.

A great sequal to Act Cadenza
Actress Again is a great 2D fighting game that you should definitely buy, if you're into fighting games. For example, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, Fate Unlimited Codes, etc...
It has, without a doubt, an excellent soundtrack that you'll get by purchasing the Limited Edition.
The graphics kind of remain the same, but that's not a bad thing.
The 3 types of Moon Style is another great thing in MB:AA. You can choose between 3 styles. Crescent for Power and Speed, Full Moon for easier execution of Arc-Drives and Half Moon which are for less experienced MB gamers that contains a bit of both.
All in all, a great game for anybody who likes to play Fighting Genred games. Should definitely not be missed if you've played MB:AC.
