The Rumble Fish is a 3D fighting conversion based on the Atomiswave arcade version. The game features 3D background combined with classical 2D gameplay. The two main characters in this game are Zen and Typhon. Rumble Fish has a new "Offense Defense Alternating Battle System". Each character has an Offense gauge and Defense gauge placed at the bottom of the screen.

『S.M.A. (Smooth Model Animation) 』 システムによって、滑らかな動作はもちろんのこと、相手の攻撃を受ける （ダメージ） ことで、キャラクターの衣服や身体が徐々に変化していく、といった表現が可能に。
その他にもゲージシステムとしてオフェンスとディフェンスの2つのゲージを採用することで対戦における駆け引きが従来の格闘ゲームよりも奥深いものになっています。本作より新たなキャラクターが2人参戦！ 果たしてその目的は！？
