As part of the NeoGeo Online Collection, SNK Playmore's popular 2D fighter Bakumatsu Roman (The Last Blade) finally appears on PlayStation2™. As the title already describes, Bakumatsu Roman: Last Blade 2-in-1 combines two classical fighting games originally released on NeoGeo™ into one brand new game. Select your character from more than 30 different fighters, each one of them with a different and profound story to reveal.
As for other titles released in this series, Last Blade 2-in-1 features online fights via SNK Playmore's MMBB.

Last Blade 2 in 1
One of Snk's best titles. You get bth games in the Last Blade series at a price that's a steal. Despite what some users and some people at Shoryuken.com say, this is a very well made adaption of the neo geo cart. The only thing i have personally noticed is the the music for the intros is off by about a half a second as compared to the arcade versions. As far as gameplay goes, any combo or trick you can do in the arcade versions of these games will work in the ps2 port. There is noticible slowdown in some of the backrounds, but this is also present in the arcade versions of these games so you could say that that is arcade perfect.
Gameplay wise some people say the games runs at slower than normal and there are missing frames and such. From all my testing i haven't noticed any of that. I play this version more than any other i have due to it's convenience. My friends and i all have a lot of fun playing this and Garou: mark of the wolves which you can also get on this site.
Bottom line: unless you have the cash to get a neo geo and the cartridge for these games this is your best bet. Next best thing to arcade. Also get a decent arcade stick for a true gaming experience. Enjoy. These games will entertain you for a long time to come.

In my opinion, better than Samurai Shodown
The Last Blade series is one of my favorites on NeoGeo, and I personally think it plays better than Smaurai Shodown. This package brings both Last Blade 1 and 2, and if you don't know the series, give this title a try!

Perfect!!!
This game is fun what I accepted. The moves and the controls are very easy handle. When you select "Speed" the combos become very connective which makes this game very fun to play. This game is worth getting.

One of the only legitimate ways to experience Bakumatsu Rouman
And that makes it worth any cuts. Sound emulation is noticibly poor (coming from someone who hasn't played the originals), but the 'Arrange' soundtrack option (which uses the NGCD soundtracks, as I remember reading) does clear that up a lot. With the 'Arrange' on the sound becomes much, much less of a problem. The game takes a while to boot up, but once you finally get into either game its smooth from there on. So for the price, and the fact that the only other releases of this game outside of the NG consoles are arguably poorer, this is a great choice and a fantastic way to experience these totally awesome games.
