The best PS2 fighting game! Soul Calibur III is the best package a fighting gamer could want. Awesome graphics, rock-solid gameplay, tons of cool characters and meaty modes that will keep you busy for hours. The Character Creation mode is superb, letting you play with various looks and new 'jobs' like assassins, saints and samurai. The Chronicles of the Sword is a kind of RTS, though it just boils down to a fighting game where you have to run to your opponents and spend a lot of time breaking down doors- it's tedious but quite absorbing once you get into it.
Best of all, the Japanese version is completely bilingual, with full english voice, subtitle and text option- which is great for me to use on my Japanese PS3. And this game looks awesome on a HDTV. I'll keep playing this gem till Soul Calibur IV shows up!
Cool... This game is AWESOME! It was really smart of Namco to add three new characters: Tira, Setsuka, and Zasalamel. If they weren't there, Soul Calibur would get boring. The Soul Edge and Soul Calibur weapons are awesome, and the plot is amazing! If you like the Soul Series, I bet you'd grab this game immediately!
Keeps em coming back Though I had to say that I liked the idea of special characters in the 2nd version, this new version allows you to make their own. If you liked the smooth graphics and outlandishly huge weapons of the others this game is right up your alley and something that will keep you entertained for hours at a time.

Zasalamel This game is awesome yes, you can select up to 30 characters, the story is awesome, graphics rulez but it is too hard.... sometime the cpu is very very b*****d..

great buy at Playasia not the best game out there (if this game would to come out 5 years ago, if would have received 11/10), but for $14.90, who would say this is a bad deal?
Addictive If you're a fan of the series, you wont be disappointed, its a great game, with new characters, improved graphic engine, fluid animations and a really good soundtrack. The gameplay is nearly the same of the past games with some minimal variations. The only problem with this game is the AI, really challenging and very hard sometimes.

good fighting game by far best soul calibur out there, a must have for fighting game fans. controls can be a little frustrated and sometimes the AI can be kinda cheap, but besides this....awsome game plus you can customize your very own character

WHAT A GREAT BEAT-EM-UP FOR THE OLD PS 2 !!! I can't believe it what graphics are possibly on the PS 2. This Soul Calibur is really the greatest Beat-Em-Up you can buy for this console. So many fighters (specialy the womans ;-)) - so many you can unlock - so many posibilitys in the creator - so many gamemods - and so on and so on.
It's a pity to give this game only five stars...
This game is an absolutly MUST HAVE !!! BUY IT !!! NOW !!!

Beat-em-up fans rejoice! If you're a fighting game fan, you will definately want to pick up this game. This is the best weapon based fighting game around. The game play is very deep with a mind blowing list of moves for each characters (huge roster). It'll be a while before you actually get bored of this game. Everything is in english so its easy for non-japanese speakers. What more can i say about the same people who brought you the Tekken and Ridge Racers series?
Is this a PS2 game?? Really? I have the Xbox version of Soul Calibur 2. When SC3 was announced only for PS2, I never thought that this new game would be better than SC2. In fact, it is!! Again, you have 16x9 support, and very beautiful graphics, better than SC2, and better than Tekken 5. Sure I can't compare it to any DOA game on the Xbox, but it is the most beautiful game on the PS2, and the best Soul Calibur game yet. Buy this game!! If you don't own a PS2, buy one just to plat this game!! Don't miss this one, or you will regret a lot!!!!
