Could be better...
The graphics are kinda....dull and missing stuff. Since this is the american can't really get (unless you have the japanese PS2 or an importer or a modchip) it. I have a japanese PS2 and an english one. I got this one before I got the Japanese Ps2, that was when the day this game came out, when I got the game. If you have an importer then go for Naruto: Narutimate 2 or Narutimate 3 (the third is better though, best out of all and the 4th is coming out). The only thing to me that is good about this game is the amount of characters, pretty good for the american Naruto choice of characters. The specials are okay, I like Sasuke's the most.

Great but got boring
I bought this one and I loved it but after awhile it got more and more boring to play. The gameplay isn't that great and there are lots of glitches. But while your playing before having it for a long time, you'll love it.

The japanese versions are better, since IMHO, the american voice acting, and the slaughtered version of the show suck.

Although the voices suck, it's a pretty good game, and it's your best shot, if you have an unmodded PS2, that is. I don't know japanese, but I still enjoy Narutimate Hero 3, even a friend of mine, who doesn't watch Anime and read Manga very much, liked it, so it's not only for Naruto/Anime/Manga fans, Narutimate Hero 3, that is.

naruto ultimate ninja is the original U.S game which means that U.s games can only play U.s game and jap games can only play jap game so those of without a moded ps2 should buy this game if you do have a moded or jap ps2 then dont bother buying the next series of naruto jap

I LOVE THIS GAME, it is very entertaining. And the graphics are pretty good, the fighting is smooth. The only problem i have with it is the special moves get a little repetivem, but i love the mini game when you do a super special move. If you are a fan of naruto buy this game.

I just got this game 4 days ago, and it is definitely not as good as the Gamecube games. The way they did the graphics in the ps2 version are way better then that of the gamecube efforts, Yes the gamecube version is cleaner then this game being that it is in 480p for HDTV users, but the ps2 version feels more like the manga, and I love that. But the game play needs a little help. Bandai doesn’t make the best games ever, but they are fun, so lets see how part 2 fares…~

This game rocks, you can walk on water using chakra, run up walls, Jutsu's look crazy hot. Its very Naruto'ish and also its addictive. Have fun when you buy it.

Buy it if you're a fan of the anime (or not xD)
This game is a must have for fans. The Graphics are quiet good and the Controls are very easy to learn and to use. There are really a whole bunch of Jutsus to use (almost everything they can in the anime).

Also there are a lot of extras to unlock but unfortunatly not so many characters (Orochimaru, Shikamaru, Neji, Sakura, Kakashi, Sasuke, Hinata, Gaara, Lee, Naruto, Zabuza and Haku).
That the game is in Japanese isn't that important (since it's a fighting after all ^_^) and really the things that they are saying aren't THAT hard to understand.

Another positive (or negative) point is that you have a lot of Life-energy and so when I play with my friends, one fight last at least 10 mins.

I can highly recommend this game to everyone who likes the anime and even if not it's still worth a try ^^.

I thought that the ps2 version of naruto was great, and now we have an amazing naruto sequel for the GC! It's just like the first in terms of graphics, but the 4 player battles and new modes make this one to definitely get a hold of! TONS of characters to unlock too! ^_^

Dont compare it with gamecube version
This game is really great, I love the mechanics and art style. You really cant compare it with the gamecube version though...coz it plays completely different...its like comparing Tekken to Smash Bros. I wish there were more jutsus(not supers) for each character though

Great NAruto GAme!
This is now in my favorite fighting game section with soule calibur 2. There is non stop action and great specials!

Great game
First of all, it's a great game. The best advantage over the Gamecube version is that you can do plenty of moves and spells. Like in Tekken you can find a move list when you just press -pause- during a fight.

The little down part is that you need some time to find out everything as the game is pretty much in Japanese only. Also in my opinion the Gamecube version looks better compared to Bandai's PS2 one. Not everyone might agree to that though...

For all Naruto fans or people of the fighting genre, this game is a good buy.

one bad thing about his game is it is japanese, i would rate it 5 full stars if it was english, but overall the game was good too bad i don't really understand what it is saying.

Gamecube Version VS PS2 Version
I got a gamecube specifically to get the naruto games and some other anime based games (gamecube of japan has done a good job in makeing anime games)... the gamecube one is a great game perfect control and fluid movements as well as some choice techniques to catch your eye... its a real top notch fighter even though it's rather limited in chars and levels (and it is difficult if you unlock level 4 difficulty)... From what i heard of the PS2 version it plays like powerstone... I never really liked powerstone's play style. But I'll give it a try... just got the game today but havent had a real chance to play yet... i must say it is more eyecandy than the gamecube version, but the controls are pitiful compared to the way the gamecube one was designed. Overall though the vast character selection and the "flashyness" does make up for it.

Where as everyone who plays the gamecube version will know its a superbe figher that all people who love fighting games will simply admire and praise by simply playing it... if you just want the game for "narutoness" the PS2 puts out more eyecandy and more characters. Personally I'm waiting for the gamecube second naruto game... 4 player teken style fighting action as well as more chars (still not as many as ps2 version)...

Final note... Gamecube Best Quality and Mechanics.... PS2 version lots of features

Man-o-Man... Naruto on PS2... too bad... i have to wait months now before it is translated to English and put on the market in Australia - if ever :(( Maybe time will pass very fast. I have all the Naruto DvD's and all the Manga comics, iam also excited with all the new DvD's being created that havent been created yet :)
