Incredible land, a new "tale" begins...
Well acclaimed since the release of the first work of the series in December 1995, the highly popular "Tales" series is finally coming up with a new installment.
In this game, the traditional LMBS (Linear Motion Battle System) has evolved into a more vibrant X-LMBS (Crossover LMBS)! In addition, the "windowed conversation" has been enhanced with new elements, displaying the activeness of the new work to seek new ground. Up until now, character design has been taken charge by "Kosuke Fujishima" and "Mutsumi Inomata", but now "Kazuto Nakazawa" of international fame has been tasked with this job. With this breath of freshness and charm, as well as the differences with other games of the "Tales" series, you should definitely give it a try!
In this new work, action elements found in fighting games like "Tekken" are introduced into the "LMBS (Linear Motion Battle System)" to form an even more complete and evolved "X-LMS (Crossover-LMBS)".
Besides the classical use of TP (Technical Point) in the series to execute special as well as secret moves, new "throw" actions are introduced to make battles more varied. To execute these new moves, one has to get up close to the enemy. Upon successful execution, the damage inflicted and the sense of satisfaction derived are unmatched by other moves.
A "Climax Combo" is performed for simultaneous attacks with other party members! With four party members putting their hearts into pummeling the enemy, the power and pressure created is definitely unmatched by solo attacks, and the graphical effects are also quite impressive!
The use of deluxe voice casting crew, accentuated in the day-today conversations of the characters in the "windowed conversation", is one of the most charming points of "Legendia". In this work, this system is further introduced into events, allowing you to listen to advice dished out by party members as the event unfolds, and enjoy the rich and varied plot developments through the conversations. Not only the main characters will make their appearances in this system, but even sub-characters or even enemy characters will have exciting performances!
When exploring dungeons, it is no longer just about defeating monsters and gaining experience, but there will be many fascinating and wonderful traps and triggers waiting for you! The player's wit will be tested here.

Youre either going to love it or hate it Legendia...a mixed bag really. Some of its great, yet some of its not. However, I love it.I think its a great game with a decent sense of humour. The battle system has a few flaws but you can quite easily overlook those flaws and get the full enjoyment out of it.The characters are interesting and full of personality, one of the games strong points. Now, for the bad.The character quests.Youd think they would provide hours of fun and make an interesting extension. At least at first anyway. They begin to lag on a bit once you get to Chloe's story. It feels like your watching a 24 hour special of Lost. Hurrah. Then theres Norma's voice. So bouncey...so lively...its to much. The unoriginal dungeons, the plain 'adventure field',those otters that play a too big a part in the game...Dont get me wrong, these flaws are easy to overlook, but when you think about it...
Altogether,I think this is a decent breath of fresh air for the tales series and that any tales or RPG fan should get a good 60 hours of fun out of it.
Legendia tales An Entertaining and fairly Fun RPG Game with a lot of humor and enjoyment to be had
Tales of Legendia involves a story of Senel Coolidge and his ""Sister"" Shirley being washed up onboard an island refered to as the Legacy, when they arrive they meet new people and their story begins
The Main Quest is Split up into 7 chapters, and the length of the game is around 30hrs in length, all the characters are voiced during the main quest
The Game will remind you a lot of Tales of Symphonia in terms of the graphic style, the load times are fairly good, and the battle system is good too, all the Skits are voiced.
After completing the main game, you will have to do the "Character" quests(another 7 chapters) which essentially leads off directly after the end of the game, you will have to do these in order to get the complete ending and to access the grade shop... character quests mostly involve going to the same areas you"ve already visted, fighting certain enemys and finding more out about the characters, their is a character quest for each character, also its worth noting that the Character quest does not have any Voice acting asides from "the bantam bouncer song" and it contains one cutscene or so per character.
the game has various anime cutscenes at different points in the game... asides from the many flaws the game may have, like the lack of different enemys and some of the areas in chapter 6 are the same just "changed" per say(wont say because itl spoil but youl see what i mean)
great battle system of course
i would rate the game a 8 out of 10 , not great but a good play.
Very good in many aspects! Well, I played all the Tales of Games (except "TotA", what I'll buy here soon) and because it's 3D I didn't expect that much first. Well, I love it. The Story is very complex and nice, the tri-linear system is absolutely genious and the battle system rocks (except the little bug...)
How Many Tales? At first, i didnt expect this game to live up to its 2D counter parts. Seeing as it was hot and heavy on the heels of Tales of Rebirth, i wasnt expecting a lot from this game. Another reason is because it's 3D. I love the "Tales of" series because it's one of the few RPG series that is (was) primarily 2D. Tales of Legendia surprised me with its gameplay mechanics and overall battle fluidity.
Legendia does away with the "Tri-Linear" system that was used in Rebirth and goes back to just one plane of action. I actually enjoyed the complexity the Tri-Linear system put into the battle system, allowing you to win battles without taking any damage. Over all i felt the story for this game was a little weak as well. I'm a sucker for a good story with a little romance and action. with all that being said, this game didnt make me feel as "Bad-Ass" as Tales of Rebirth did. The item customization in Rebirth was great, and it's something i miss. Legendia is still a good game, but it seems like a step down in terms fo gameplay, over all mechanics, and story when compared to Rebirth. Graphics wise, i woudl rather 2D, but that's just preference. This is still a great game, so i HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to all Tales fans and Import RPG'ers in general. I'm just saying, if had the choice, i would pick Tales of Rebirth.
