description
Hundreds of years before Lenneth's tale, another saga lies concealed by the gods. The valkyrie Silmeria once served Odin loyally, but after an incident ignited a conflict between them, Odin forcefully reincarnated her as a human. The human soul that would carry her spirit was that of Alicia, Princess of Dipan. Ordinarily, Silmeria's consciousness would have been sealed, her spirit dormant until she was next summoned... However, the forced transmigration causes Silmeria's spirit to awaken within Alicia, leaving two souls to inhabit a single body. The spirit that should have been sealed has awakened a situation Odin will not ignore for long.

This installment introduces the new Photon Action System to the classic side-scrolling action format found in the original. Projecting photons grants players more freedom to explore and expands the action, resulting in challenging puzzles with clever solutions. Add to that "sealstones" that affect the laws of nature in dungeons, launching strategy to new heights. The unique battle system of the previous game has evolved into the Advanced Tactical Combination Battle System.

    Divine Assault, Nibelung Valesti!
I think everyone else has the story down to the letter, but this is one of Tri-Aces better games, it beats the rather disapointing Radiata Stories by far

So you are Alicia, a girl with the soul of Silmeria inside her, and thus your in Dipan, a few things happen, and your jourey begins

The game is 2d, yet strangely playable, battles are fun, the music is done by Motoi Sakuraba if i remember correctly, and is worth anyones time

30-40 hours playtime for average gamer
more if you collect everything and get the special stuff

This game is so good and the price is so low!Now just buy it(only the english voice arent as good as japaness one but that is correct)

Difficulty is always so unbalanced(same as first valkyrie profile)but it is so good to play with the characters of the first VP

Just buy it , very good game and fun

    Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria
Schizophrenia: A "long-term mental disorder involving faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, and withdrawal from reality into fantasy and delusion". Often that delusion involves multiple personalities inhabitating one body. In Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, the princess Alicia seems to be suffering from just that. She is sometimes meek, sometimes baying for blood. Inside her are two souls - her own and the fallen soul of the Norse Valkyrie Silmeria, who disobeyed Odin and was cast down into Midgard to slumber. But as things go, something went wrong and she awoke. Forced to aid her, Alicia embarks on a quest to separate them both.

Players can expect jaw-dropping 3D graphics that bring realism to new heights on the PS2, to be rivaled only by the upcoming title Final Fantasy XII. The environs are so beautifully drawn that it is a shame players quickly realise they cannot fully interact with most of it. Gameplay mechanics stay mostly true to the first title, the main difference being your ability to move around on a map during battles. Fights are in quasi-real time, with both the players' party and enemies making their moves at the same time.

"Overskill" finishing moves are still available, and there is now the option of attacking certain sections of an enemy and entering "Break Mode" when enough damage is done to destroy the armour of that section. As Alicia travels, she will also gain more of what is known as "einherjer", the souls of the dead. She will be able to summon these souls into battle, and when they become powerful enough, reincarnate them back to life.

The musical score, while a little unstable in parts, generally holds together well. But three issues deter a player from picking this title up. First: a confusing storyline. Developer Tri-Ace assumes players that some knowledge of the first game and rarely takes time to explain situations that occur throughout the game. Second: a steep difficulty curve. Dungeon A may be very easy to overcome, but the next dungeon's monsters may potentially slay a player's entire party with one hit, creating a difficulty curve which demands both excellent skills and high character levels to succeed. Thirdly, and most strangely, a menu system that is simply ancient. With all the beautiful bells and whistles for every other part of the system, you would expect a suitably more elegant menu system. What players have instead is a confusing mess of menus, sub-menus and information placed haphazardly.

This is especially disappointing considering the excellent skill-learning system used. By placing accessories in certain elemental orders, characters can learn new skills. However, there is no quick way to save item combinations to create such orders, aand digging through the skill menu to recall exactly what order a skill needs is tedious and tiring. Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria has a lot to offer to the role-playing game (RPG) fan. Unfortunately, a clunky menu and an unbalanced difficulty curve mar the experience.
