Shin Megami Tensei III follows the story of a typical senior high school student living in Tokyo. After awaking from a dream, he finds himself in Vortex World, the destroyed world that contains the city Tokyo Conception. One of the best RPG from SMT series to date!
SMTIII: Nocturne is sure one of the best in the modern day SMT series. Gameplay-wise, this is so hardcore (unlike DDS or the mainstream Persona series) it might deter casual RPG gamers away, but if you're looking for real challenges, Nocturne definitely has it for you.
I already owned the game long time ago, but for those looking to collect great RPGs (especially for gamers from North America where SMT games can run out of store shelves within less than a month), the recent discounted price at $17.90 is a total steal and I highly recommend it!

This is the original Nocturne.
Before Maniacs and Chronicle Edition, there was the first Nocturne. A few elements that most fans know of are not found here, but it doesn't deter from the experience in the least.
Though rough around the edges, the fact remains that it's still a masterpiece of the SMT franchise.

Fun game.
This is a game that has much to offer those who want to play a challenging game. It's possible to go through the game without dying, but it is very difficult to do so unless you are prepared and know what you're up against as a single mudo or hama spell hitting the main character will spell game over for you.
If you are on your first playthrough, I suggest not finishing the amala dungeon unless you are planning on grinding quite a while to build up just the right team as the bonus boss will take a while to beat even with the right moves.

Great game!
It's such an addictive game and the style of the world is just amazing. If you have ever wanted to get into the MegaTen world this is a good one to pick up.

It's a perfect and long story...hard land. Good idea for the fusion monster and your are more choice the way fore conclude the story line. th Smt NOCTURNE is all best king RPG. Music and graphic is more wanderfull. Include Dante a men the DMC series from CAPCOM...in the story is a friend or not? Your are the response...HAHAHAH

SMT Rules
This game is great, but not for everyone. You will need to dedicate some time to grind your characters and fuse demons in order to get a strong party, but the end result is phenomenal. The story may not be the best there is but it's certainly not bad either. Everything just fits together perfectly. If your a fan of SMT, get this game right now. If your a RPG fan, get it now also. You will love it. 5/5

Smt nocturn rock
This game is very different and has great music good gameplay custom demon stat plus demon power which give you different type skill or magic depend on your choice or play style my time so far with the game I am enjoy the story line and theme I like all the demon but my fav is Jack frost hee ho ho a great game not to be missing out on. :)

Megami Tensei is a real class RPG, first released on MSX and Famicom in 1984. Nocturne is the first on PS2.
The game feature improved graphic and addictive story but remain its classic of Japanese RPG style. Don't miss the chance to own this game. If you'd like to see "Dante" from DMC series in "Megami Tensei", try this one!!!

The characters and environments look cool and the soundtrack is a interesting combination of rock jazz tracks. Curious story, fun mechanics and a grooving soundtrack, you don't want to miss out on this reprint.

The Perfect RPG
This game is still considered to be the top JRPG since it was released in 2004 and for good reasons: featuring most creative atmospheric look in any RPG to date, an excellent music score that is still to be surpassed by any other game and of course the most revolutionary battle system seen in any RPG. The game's story is surprisingly engaging considering the lack of long cut scenes and long conversations between characters and the game features multiple endings. There is also an optional dungeon with multiple optional bosses, and if you need a challenge there is a hard difficulty.

Exceptionally good rpg
If you like jrpgs, and are not familiar with the SMT series, do yourself a favor and buy this rigth away, otherwise you migth find yourself bumping ur head against a wall in a few years after it is no longer available. You wondering why I say that? Well for starters, this game is not ur typical jrpg in which the hero is an effeminate boy out to prevent the world's destruction, in fact world's end is the very beggining of the game :D, and you have to find your reason, so that you can recreate the world in your image. Now, the story is not the only unique thing about this game... It has an atmosphere very hard to describe, that feels unsettling in a good way, thanks to the visual design by Kazuma Kaneko, and (for me) the best soundtrack yet from Shoji Meguro. The music here uses Metal style guitar riffs, or Organs, or a combination of both, you will find none of that hip-hop crap or j-pop numb inducing music found in Persona 3, or 4 (That's about the only thing I disliked from those games, even though the osts are also by S. Meguro).

although i already own it (with the soundtrack thank god ^_^) this game is hands down amazing and its a lucky break to find one, so i recommend.....BUY IT!
gameplay wise think pokemon but demons plus as a bonus dante from dmc is a special character and an endless horde of demons to join you and plenty of combination possibilities.
