Great improvements from ToD PSone to this one
Tales of Destiny for PSone is often seen as an improved Tales of Phantasia for the Snes, which is actally pretty accurate.
This time, the 2D sprites get a lot better thanks to being for a more powerful system (even though they look terrible compared to Tales of Destiny Remake for PS2).
Battles got a lot more hectic and fast-paced.
The story is really interesting, picking off some years after the events in Tales of Destiny.
Everyone has several Hi-Ougis, which made the battles really awesome, and the 2D sprites along with the effects and the screams make the battles that more awesome anytime someone uses a Hi-Ougi.
Completelly worth the money and time.

Brilliant
I first imported Tales of Vesperia PS3 and enjoyed that even though its Japanese. This is the second game I did. It could start someone off the series.

Transitioning to the Portable
Playing a portable version of a game always can be scary as it may seem as if a lot may be lost in the transition. That is not the case with Tales of Destiny 2. It is one of those Tales games that retains a very similar feeling to the Playstation 2 release, while at the same time adding some extra content.
The gameplay is what you would expect from a Tales game. Very fast paced and exciting, always keeping the player on edge. Pulling off combos is just as satisfying as in any of the other games.
Graphics-wise the game is quite pleasing to the eye. The sprites are nicely animated and it is hard to see much of a difference from the PS2 version, but I suppose the PS@ version is slightly more smoother. Although it is not very noticeable, so it is definitely nothing to worry about.
The music is of course strong. Fans of Sakuraba Motoi and the other Tales games will definitely feel at home when listening to the music here. Not my favorite Tales soundtrack but it is definitely enjoyable.
Tales of Destiny 2 on the PSP is a very solid game. The performance differences isn't extremely noticeable between the PS2 and PSP so it retains its fast paced enjoyment. Most fans of Tales games will enjoy this portable re-release.

Worth every single penny. This is a MUST have for any 'Tales of' fan. Even if you're not, this is the gateway to becoming one.

Best Tales of the PSP
This became one of my most favorite "Tales of" games. Although it's not combo heavy like newer installments of the Tales games, it's great because it relies more on strategy and defense making the game much more challenging.

A chance to take one of the most famed Tales of titles on the go? Let me at it! I love the fast-paced battle system, and being a true sequel to a Tales game makes it even more interesting.
Visit old friends from the first Destiny, and find new ones in Destiny 2. The changes, though minor, make this game worth picking up a second time if you own the PS2 version. Either way, now you have the chance to play this game whenever you want.
I would recommend this game.

Engaging Tales Experience
Coming from someone who started playing Tales games from Symphonia, playing an older one in the series was a little awkward. Having familiarized myself with the ability to rotate around a Z-axis in Symphonia, seeing the 2D plane battle system in Tales of Destiny 2 allowed me to see something unique.
While it may seem like a step back, I did not feel that way at all. I still felt the same action and enjoyment of any other of the more recent Tales games. The sprites are very lifelike and their action sequences feel powerful. The battles are very pleasing to the eye, and the music and voices only add to the already frantic feel.
Overall, the game is enjoyable. It has a nice polish to it that helps it stand out and engages the player.

A Classic RPG
Even though it is the sequel to The Tales of Destiny, the story can be enjoyed alone. When it came out on PS2, it was considered the best among the Tales series regarding graphic, music and gameplay. Any Tales fan or RPG fan should add it to their collection.

A great sequel from a great game
Usually sequels are not that great comprared to their predesessor example Tales of Symphonia: A really great game but its sequel Tales of Symphonia a New Dawn was a great disapointment for me. But Tales Of Destiny 2 is just great it kept the same aspects of ToD and its very enjoyable

Worth the wait~~~
I had to wait 2 weeks for the game to come in from back order and another week because of the packaging I purchased, but it was worth the wait. I absolutely fell in love with the game and couldn't put it down. Finished the game within two weeks, instantly started a new playthrough. :3

Worst Tales...
I didn't like the story at all...
Yes, it has a great battling system, and it's fun, indeed, but the story is a crap.
I'm not going to tell the details, but I really hated the statement saying something like, "I'm the justice, and my justice is everyone's justice. Whoever goes against my justice is absolutely the evil, even the god." Bah, freak'n hypocrites! Many heros in games show same behavior, but this one is worst that just made me sick...

Very nice game
Considered one of the best "Tales of..." in the series since its debut on the PS2 it has its own unique system, memorable characters, a simple-yet-complex battle system and an awesome history, all that added to a "to-go" feature makes this a really nice buy.
You should get this game, as the last Tales made for the PS2 it makes an inspiring "farewell" title

Fabulous game
Tales of Destiny 2 merges just the right elements to make this into an amazing game for me. One of my favourite adventures out of the Tales series, ToD2 also boasts the best cast of characters in my opinion. A lovable group of six -- they fit together like missing puzzle pieces, and I highly enjoy all the silly antics when they're together. Especially in the "skits" or "screen chats", as other Tales titles have called them.
The game also offers a really fun battle system that utilizes "Enchants", which can be equipped to skills and increase attack power or extend the technique, etc, and the system also introduces SP. The SP bar limits the amount of attacks you can do, but it's a very well thought out addition, and I think it adds to the challenge of battles rather than takes away.
Overall, I find the game very difficult to get tired of, and can play it over and over. Definitely deserves to be called one of my favourite games. Highly recommended!

Out of all the Tales games, Destiny 2 became known for having the fastest paced battle system and was used in the remake of the first Destiny with some tweaks. Destiny 2 advances after the first one with a new cast of characters and the return of some. My only real problem with Destiny 2 (and it's minor) is that one of the characters only has 1 Hi-Ougi compared to the others having multiple. Get this game, get a translation FAQ, and enjoy :)

Must have for any JRPG fan
I've always liked the "tales of" series, due to it's heavily anime influenced art style and unique real-time battle system. Newer games with Anime Style characters in realistic looking skin textures look really weird to me (like magna carta 2), but I still enjoy them, it's just I would enjoy them if they looked more like anime.
This entry in the series has just abut the right measure of old school stuff in it to please most jrpg fans.

The True Sequel!
This is the Official Sequel to Tales of Destiny for the PS1 and actually takes place about 12 or so years after the original. you play as the son of Stahn & Rutree , Kyle, on his quest to become a Hero like his father. The description up above is actually for Tales of Eternia. The game we have in America called Tales of Destiny II is actually called Tales of Eternia in Japan. Not sure why they did it that way, but oh well. This game is a smash hit and possesses some of the most beautiful 2D graphics i have ever seen. The Tried and True Linear Battle System is back in all of its glory as well making it one of those games that forces you to pay attention. I really think this should have been released stateside because it show that 2D games are still going strong. I highly recommend this to any Tales fan, or any 2D RPG fan.

Pretty good
This is the REAL sequel to Tales of Destiny from PS1. You take the role of Stahn and Rutee's son, Kyle and his friends travelling through time to defeat Barbatoss, the man who killed Stahn, who will change history and fate of mankind. The description and screenshots above are false, those are for the US Tales of Destiny 2, do not be confused. I found this game to be more challenging than previous games, this game has 4(!) difficulty settings. This game in Japanese, but you can always find walkthroughs and story translations lying around somewhere. This is a must have for fans of Tales series.

Good game
A direct follow up to Tales of Destiny (unlike the US Tales of Destiny 2) that is sure to please. I bought this game when it was still $60, and it was worth the money then. Its a steal at $33. Good graphics, gameplay and music. The mini-games are great, too! I recommend to any RPG fan. Just shy of a 5 star rating though.
