Radiata Love! (Accurate and fair assesment of the Game, be warned this is kinda spoilerific, if you dont mind knowing what kinda story your getting yourself into then read ahead)
the game was developed by Tri-Ace the same people that produced Star Ocean, and Valkyrie Profile, but at times, you feel over the years the quality control department over at Square Enix is slipping, technically theirs nothing wrong with the game per say but if your going into this game expecting an epic RPG and you possess, a brain cell, you may come out disapointed
the games main character is Jack Russel, ironically named after a simular sounding dog maybe, Jacks dad was obviously a heroic knight, Jack wants to join the knights, and ends up meeting Ridley, and various other characters, long story short, we have a young would be hero in a world of goblics, orcs, you name it, trying his hardest to follow in the footness of greatness, but as with any RPGS something happens, and this is where the game changes, the game likes to subject you to vague Racist scenes between the different races, in an attempt to draw the gamer into choosing a "side" once the game reaches its climax, the climax of the story however is rather underwhelming, and cliched, the whole be with your sweetheart or go against your sweetheart that you love but will never get loved back in return
the story actually, does get intresting but it seriously lacking in any meaningful plot once the game reaches a half way point you have literally a few hours on either side and its over, i almost wish they made this into an Epic game because it could of been regarded as one of the best games currently on the playstation 2.
now the games battle system is seriously fun, its real time, you can recruit your team by doing various events of subquests or meeting them at different times of the day, yes the world still moves and changes for people as your day goes on, like for example if you want a girl you like the look of to join you and the story permits you need to forfil the requirements which could be anything from meeting her at... oh i dunno the sewer at 11pm - 4am and asking her, but, your character must sleep and rise for another day when the story goes on!
you can also, pick a fight with anyone and i mean ANYONE in the game, Jack has a kick function that when used, gets a grrrrr(plus warning) kick the same person again and its battle time, you vs ANYONE.. its funny
the game is fun, give it a try, it may not be amazing but it has a lovely dungeon extra right after you beat the game thats guarenteed to test you and up your characters level to 99 at the end, also characters like the ethereal queen, gabriel celeste or fightable, also leneth valkyrie is also recruitable in the game(you recruit characters to join you for your friends list)
friends list basically means once your friends with someone, you can call them to join you, like a shop girl can like join you and someone takes her place in the shop if you"ve made a friend in her
graphics, sound etc, all good, its a great game, its just a shame the story isnt up to par, you will like this game if you want a decent rpg to browse through which will last 20-25 hours, + 10 for the extra content
check this game out

Painfully Cute The game itself has an interesting combat system that takes a bit of getting used to, and it comes out very hard in places that you would expect it to be easy. Like the beginning quest. Its graphics are smooth and easy going but the game has a almost childish cuteness running through it that was just a little much for me. I agree that some interaction or something might have helped solve this, but all and all its a good thing to find cheap, or something to borrow from a friend.
