Square will give Japanese fans a chance to experience the English version of Kingdom Hearts with the release of Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix. This updated version of the game includes English voice acting, the English version of the game's theme song, "Simple & Clean", as well as appearances from a number of additional characters, including Sephiroth of Final Fantasy VII fame. Japanese subtitles will be utilized throughout.

Definitly worth it!
This is the complete story of the start of Sora's journey that includes alot more extras like: new Bosses, keyblades, enemys and their colors, the whole scene of "deep dive", more secret cutscenes, secret boss "unknown" etc.
It also comes with subbed text in japanese, but the voices are still in English like Kingdom hearts II Final mix.
If your a big fan of kingdom hearts, need more challenge, want to know more about the story or simply need to test it I recommend this game to you. YOU WON'T BE DISAPOINTED.

Amazing game with extra goodies
KH is a game that touches your heart. KH Final Mix gives you the same amazing game with added extras. The spoken language is still English but the menu and commands are all in Japanese. This is well worth the additional content (Booses, enemies, cutscenes etc.).

Great, fun Final Mix.
As a Final Mix, this game is fantastic. Sure, it's got a lot of the same things as the original, but that goes without saying, really. The extra bosses etc. are hard, but that's what you expect, and they're not IMPOSSIBLE. And the extra scenes are great (though the cognitive dissonance in the normal scenes if you read the subs and hear the dub at the same time is kind of brain-breaking), as is the additional synth items and heartless - as much of a PITA as they can be - really give it a new spin.
If you didn't like the original it's definitely not for you, but if you did it's a really great version - if you haven't played it before definitely get this by preference.

A likely purchase for people unsatisfied with a regula version.
Having Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, the lack of a previous Final Mix started to bother me, so I clicked on this site again and got the game for I was not satisfied with the regular version. Yes, this came at a cost that I haven't acknowledged all Katakana or even Hiragana yet. But so far, so good.
While it may look like your regular Kingdom Hearts 1, this rose hides extra combat abilities, a possibility to skip those annoying scenes, six new weapons, a new, harder difficulty level, a couple new heartlesses and a new boss battle. All that and what you got back in 2003. This is THE Kingdom Hearts 1, the true vision of Sora's very first journey.
This game doesn't outclass your regular Kingdom Hearts 1 by miles, but the superiority is there. There's more content and that is what makes this game better.
I like all that little stuff that tweaks the game in the better direction.
As a Kingdom Hearts fan I want to get the most out of the series and if that is what you are striving for too, then Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is without a doubt on your wanted-list.

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
This game is great but it's definitely only for those who are hardcore fans of the series, as there isn't THAT much bonus content. I'm a hardcore fan though, so it was a great product for me. It also helped me with my Japanese!

One of the best Games...
This game is not too different from the original but does involve some extras that are worth it to any kingdom hearts fans. Not worth the buy if you want the game just to play it one time through. I would go for the original first, but if you have no problem with figuring out the first three clicks of the menu in Japanese and you want to get these extras then go for it! :)

Kingdom Hearts is one of the best games ever and it just gets better in Final Mix. The only downside to it is that it was never released outside of Asia. It's kinda unfair to the rest of the world, and they're repeating it with Final Mix 2 but I'll import them both none the less.

Though I live in the US, I played Final Mix before playing KH1 in English. I loved the story even though I can't read Japanese, the spoken dialogue was still enough for me to get the basic jist of the story.
If you're a fan of the series, I highly suggest picking this up. There are some great FAQs on Gamefaqs.com for those who can't read Japanese and need some help on what's what.

I call myself an RPG expert, and well, this game was OFF TEH HOOK!
Beat this game about 7 times, all on the hardest difficulty. 100% completion on all 7 datas.

this game is much better in english if you don't know japanese. I think you can change the language in the new playstations only. or you can wait for the ps3. also i'm not sure but i think that you can get cloud to fight sephiroth instead of sora in final mix.
first, you beat cloud in the herc cup. you can only do this the very first time.but you have to lose riht after him
then enter traverse town with the metal chocobo in hand.
talk to the fat guy out side the accesory shop.
he'll ASK for the metal chocobo and give it to him
then go to either the 3rd district or to the olympus coloseum and he'll ask for the metal chocobo
if you talk to the fat guy again, cloud will leave the party along with the metal chocobo

Worth It
While this game does use Japanese text, the voices are in English, and if you are very familiar with KH, it shouldn't be a problem for you (it wasn't for me, and I don't know any Jap.) It IS worth it if you already own KH, what has been added to it is awesome!

Words cannot explain how fricking awesome this game is. I instantly fell in love with it. The story line is...my gosh amazing. It like SUCKS you in...on an emotional level mostly. And I just finished the second game. It was just as good, if not better. I was kind of confused, but it all falls together at the end...Speaking of the ending of KHII...that's a tear jerker. I wish I was as lucky as Kairi/Namine to have someone love me that much. :P

great game
This is a great, fast paced game that is definitely worth a buy. The voice acting is great and the plot is exciting. disney fans will be excited to see disney locations and final fantasy fans will be glad to know that characters such as cloud and sepiroth are in the game. The graphics in the game are pretty good especially the summon spells. My gripes with the game are that the characters sometimes look akward in the cutscenes and that the cutscenes are usually cartoony instead of high rendering quality. But i guess it makes sense because it's part disney and disney movies are cartoons.

A MUST BUY!

I don't have this yet, as I live in the UK, but I will soon have to means to import and play Japanese games. This means that I'll be able to get all the extra features such as the unknown and more with Sephiroth.

This game is grand. It is so marvelous. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is great, and the storyline is marvelous. This game is like what it said in the description of the game. It is a game with characters from past Squaresoft games (and some new ones like Sora, Kairi, Riku, and Unknown) and the old, classic, adorable characters from past Disney movies and shows like Donald Duck, Goofy, Minnie, Daisy Duck, and a familiar mouse.;) The game is mysterious. Overall, I give it a 10/10.
