Is this game completely out of print in japan? I hope not. Looks amazing, and I'm a big fan of the anime and the manga series.

Better than the DC version
This game still has the dark feel of the series but offers a little different take on it. The fighting involves counters and reversals as well as damaging combos and secondary weapons that regenerate on their own. You also get "summon" like spells from characters that join you. The boss fights are where the game shines as you can get various reactions depending on how you counter. Bottom line, if you like the series and enjoy a good, violent slasher, pick it up

It is pretty true to the manga and all the voice overs and the music are just amazing. The graphics are stunning as well. The gameplay, however, is the best part! You actually feel like your swinging the dragon slayer when you attack with Guts. This game truley is amazing and because it is so emotional, you almost become apart of the series.

This game is the Heat!!
Wow, this game rocks. I love how they give you feeling of actually swinging the sword as you play. This is something you rarely see in games. They portray the weight of the sword flawlessly. The frames of animation as Gatsu swings the sword are great. If somethings behind you, he actually turns and has to heave the sword around to hit it, where as most games would instantly face you that way and swing. By doing this you can sense how powerful he is by the speed that swings his sword. On top of that, the boss battles are excellently done. The counter and defend system is a great addition as well. If you ask me, Devil May Cry 3 and God of War took a lot of strong points from this game. The character models and design are true to the anime and manga. This is a must have for fans of the series. Even if you're not a fan and you're looking for a good'ole hack and slash, this is the game for you.
