Simple Brilliance
I've never played a fighting game quite like this one... rather than have strings of complicated combos such as Tekken, the programmers who made this game mastered a sort of simple, yet elegant battle style... most combos are a mixture of B or A and the joystick, so button mashers can pick up and play fairly decently, but on the same token, people who have experience with the game will almost always come on top if they have good timing... the dodge system is quick responsive and easy to do, and the multiple scenarios such as 1 on 1, tag team, and up to 4 player melee have an extremely high replay value most people would probably associate to super smash bros... amazing, amazing game... personally worth the couple hundred i spent on getting a gamecube and all the necessary peripherals to play it.

The Best Naruto out so far, BETTER THAN EX 3!
Not only does it have a decent amount of characters, but the 3 on 3 team system makes this game excel in replay value! For those looking to buying Naruto GNT EX 3, or should i say EX 2.01, FORGET IT, and purchase this if you have not already. This game is worth your money and the best Naruto game to have around with friends. EX 3 is such a big upset! I hope that Takara Tomy will work harder next year and create EX 4 that is actually worth getting.

I got this game a few years ago when it came out and have been playing it pretty much ever since. Big selection of characters and will keep you playing with a pretty good combo system. Even now I discover elaborate ways to abuse certain moves to link a special attack into.

If you have a gamecube or wii, get this game. If you have a PS2 get Narutimate Accel 2. If you have both, get both. Very good game for Naruto fans and even pretty good for fighting game fans.

great game but..
this is a awsome game but the problem is they drained the damage from lee's hidden lotis.In th second one it took away all of your health(if you got hit 2 times) And now it takes away like 80% of your health leaving you with 20%(i'm guessing) health that's a good chance to lose especially since you open the 5th gate and it drains your health to like 1 hit left.

A very good game
I got this game about a year ago, I just never commented on it. The game definitely is one of the best anime-based fighting games I've ever played. The fact that it has just about everyone in the show up to and past the Sasuke Retrieval Arc makes this game even better. Unlocking all the characters can get a little monotonous, but at the same time, provides a bit of a challenge. The only fault I can really find with the game is that once you get all the characters, it gets kinda boring if you have no friends to play it with.

Overall, I'd have to say it's definitely an above-average game. 5/5

I haven't played it yet because i haven't gotten it yet but i have seen reviews for it and it looks cool i orderd it a week ago so it should be coming soon.
I think it will be an awsome game and i've been learning about it so I know how to get C2 sasuke, and one tailed kyuubi naruto,and Itachi.

To get C2 Sasuke all you need to do is beat 120 missions and after you've unlocked him you can get one tailed kyuubi naruto. It's an S rank mission and you will be C2 Sasuke and need to beat one tailed kyuubi naruto in a one on one.

and i might need some tips on how to play because i don't understand how you can use more than one jutsu.

Very,Very,Very,Very cool also most of the characters are in here the only characters I would like to see is 1st,2nd and forth hokage but Curse Seal Level 2 Sasuke and nine tailed demon naruto level 2 makes up for it.

i just got it today and its the best naruto game ever! It's way better than the Naruultimate hero by a lot. The graphics are pretty good and even though it's expensive, trust it's worth it. This is an awesome game that can be enjoyed for hours. The menus are easily understood, even if you dont know japanese(each game mode has a picture associated with it) This game is a must own for any Naruto fan!

Great game
New characters up to and including the Retreival Arc. Many playable characters and 40+ hours to unlock all the characters and bonus features. Menu is easy to navigate once you find a translation for them all. Comparative to the previous version, the characters feel a lot more balanced between each other, unfortunately the new moves that the retreival team (not spoiling for those who have not seen it) have stayed the same, and only thing that I have a problem with it. The rest of the features are great, a very addicting game and the new characters are fun to play with.

This, in my opinion is one of the greatest fighters for the Gamecube. It has a huge character selection, lots of stages and millions of hours of multi player fighting possibilities. When my friends played in school, we would come out of our classes everyday just to play. The missions can get tedious and repetitive, but the game is still fun nonetheless. So i advise you putin your cart and buy it NOW!!!!!!

But Seriously if you have played the other games this one is by far the best. They added a Marvel Vs Capcom multiplayer effect. 3v3 where you change in and out of characters. It's just beautiful. Plenty of Characters to go arround it is still the best naruto on the market. Sadly this game will never come to the US they are going to skip straight to the new Wii one for the US, but the new Wii one isn't even comparable to this game. Story mode isn't all that great, but the new multiplayer is amazing. Best Naruto game to date in my book.

I doubt this game will ever be toped. If it is, it'd be a miracle.
It has my 3 fav characters
and they drained the damage on orochimaru's special. from CoN2. it took off somewhere around 70% of your life((i'm guessing)). now it takes off maybe 25%-35%

Good Game
This is an awesome game. It helps if you have some kind of knowledge in the Japanese language. Even if you don't it's pretty easy to figure out. It's highly addictive and has LOTS of unlockables. The story mode could've been a little longer, but there are well over a hundred different missions in the game that make up for it. I think my favorite thing about this game is the ability to side-step while running, which could really save your arse in some trickier battles. I highly recommend this game.

About Memory Cards
The gamecube itself determines what save file is used. If your useing freeloader, the save filetype will be your current region and a seperate memorycard is NOT needed. You can save along with all your current save files. However, If your system is modded, changing from japan to your region will change the file type, and a seperate card is needed then.

Holy Moly!
This game is absolutely awesome. It blows the American version out of the water (although it's not out yet, it will anyway). All I needed was a freeloader and a blank memory card (that's right, it wasn't a japanese memory card). I would suggest this to anyone who liked Clash of Ninja 2 in America.

I bought it over a year ago, and it's still the best fighting game I've ever come across. If only Orochimaru's minions were available in their untransformed states... and I still want Doku! But aside from the freeloader, you don't need to purchase any special memory card or the like. Awesome++

mission mode is right above the first option on the MENU screen. other sites say you have to play the game alot for hours to get missions. but i learned(and probably others) that all you have to do to get missions is go in and out of the title screen and the menu screen. more missions mean more characters.....oh yeah itachi hates you all....lol

Great fighting game
After 100 hours of game play (and still not bored), I have to say that this is one of the best fighting games I have ever played. GNT 4 proves that that a good fighting game doesn't need a complex combo system to be enjoyable. GNT 4 is easily accessible for new players but it offers a nice learning curve even for more demanding players. The thing where GNT 4 really shows it's best is the multiplayer. If you like fighting games and have some friends to play with, you really can't go wrong with this one.

great game, fighting remains the same as the last few games, with a few noticeable improvements, such as you can run and dodge without having to stop, and the R and L triggers do different teleports, L just teleporting you and R a teleport attack. the money system from #3 is gone but has been replaced with a mission system where you have to complete missions with specific goals like "dont use a special" or so on, but i think this works better than before, if you cant read jap then i reccomend an FAQ otherwise you may be a bit confused, though you will soon get the hang of it and not really need one (exept for the missions), the game overall is Amazing with all the characters you could want to play as very good indeed ^_^

A very good play of combat!
Naruto Gekitô Taisen Ninja! 4 is a very good play of combat on Nintendo GameCube. Realized in cell-shading, animation is very fluid and splendid graphics!

The catch in hand is very fast, all is instinctive, one connects the combos very easily... The play has a very good handiness!

The lifespan of the play is enormous! Approximately 300 missions await you! Moreover, exelent it multi-player mode, and the 39 characters, really return the play amusing!

The music resemble has that of the animated drawing, but are a little different.

n short, even if this play does not have much innovation by contribution to the preceding part, and that the developers could have added furies, Naruto Gekitô ninja Taisen! 4 is a very good play of combat! For those which want a good play of combat or for the fans, one really bursts oneself there!

Can't tell you how many Naruto 4 tournaments we've had around here. The multiplayer is GREAT, and it's incredibly addicting! Once you've unlocked all of the characters, bring friends over and have 3 extra controllers, 'cause you're going to want everyone to get in there! The multiplayer truly makes this game worth it, and it's also excellent for avid Naruto fans who aren't subdued by the limited dubbed version of the series. this is the only Naruto game I've ever played and it's good. In terms of fighting games for the cube it is REALLY GOOD. Graphics are superb. The mission mode isn't really that much and the story mode SUCKS!!It is all ****ed up.
It is a button basher (my 5-year old sister is pretty good at it), with some extremely unbalanced characters. It is too bad most super attacks are forced into it as cut-scenes. And some attacks lack character authenticity; overall they didn't use the material well.
But it is really cool how different characters REALLY allow different tactics. The combo system (and countering system) is pretty in-depth.
There's some co-op and lots of versus fun to be had with a friend!
I'm a bit disappointed though; not as gamer, but as Naruto fan.

This is the BEST game I have ever played. Although I can’t read/speak Japanese that well yet it’s easy to get used to. It rocks hearing them talk "normal" because the dub version messes their voices up completely. I would recommend this game to ANYONE, ANY Naruto fan would LOVE this game as much as I do.

Awesome Game
Just played this with a friend of mines on my new HDTV and boy is it sweet. The action is paced really well, and the ability to use your specials just about anytime you want is pretty fun. Some attacks are overpowered, but the game is just downright fun. All the character models look great. Some of my favorites are Anko, Tsunade, Itachi, Naruto (with the AI controlled bushin) and my main man Shikamaru (complete with thinking pose). Definately a game worth picking up if you're a fan of the series. The menus are in Katakana, so they are fairly easy to navigate, unlike the Narutimette Hero games for PS2 where 90% of the game is in Kanji.

I would advise this game to anyone who enjoys a decent fighting game or anyone who loves the series.

There are some technique missing from some character's arsenals and it could do with a little more customization options when it comes to multiplayer and cpu battle but aside from those minor qualms, easily one of the most enjoyable titles on Gamecube (whether you are a fan of the series or not)

This game is pretty fun to play. It is fun to play against other people, but it is a little hard to unlock all the missions and to get all of the characters.

This is a great fighting game, an a phenominal anime fighter. This game may not be as good as Nerutimatte Hero as far as amount of characters and sleek looks go, but the fightining system is very nice indeed. 3-man cell battles and a 4 person free-for-all bring anime fighters something that I haven't seen in anything else anime related.

Love the game and with the bubble wrap shipping it took close to two weeks to get here. Thankfully I was busy with friends and school so I didn't pay too much attention to it.. but when I did.. I was going crazy without it. Great game, awesome characters, and exelent if you keep up with the anime/manga - and still good without. Some characters, however, use non stop blocking/combos in Time Trial and some characters have two specials that are just too similar (I.E. Sakura, Ino, Kiba) Other than that, no complaints and I recommend it.

This game rocks!Its a lot like Clash of Ninja 1 except its way better and more fun!It only took me 5 days to unlock all the characters but I only have 120 missions complete and 38% missions complete!Shadow mode is awesome and multiplayer is even better!This game gets really competitive as you play against good players.Each character has its own unique style and playing other people with their best character is a lot of fun!
There is only 1 Cheap character and that is OTK Naruto.(One Tailed Kyubi)He's fast,powerful and has lots of moves.

BEST GAME
ive been playing this game with my friends non stop sence i bought it a year ago. it has so many characters and levels. I just think the sound 5, cs2 sasuke and qubay naruto should be able to transform. plus why no Haku and Zabuza team move,they should have given every character a team move with some one. I also wish they would add the 3 sound ninjas, the first 2 hokagay, Atsuma and kunari.

I've been playing every single of the GNT games, I own 'em all. and this one is by far an improvement. but it seems the develop team rushed it, using the same engine, and not fixing ANY of the fighting glitches... on top of that, 4 player mode's selection screen lag horribly. This barely hinders the game play, but it still is annoying. All the characters are in this game, even though I was REALLY wishing they put in the Sound Gen-nin (Dosu, etc) but they left them out. I just wish the character selection was as varied as the Naruto (super smash ripoff) for the PS2. I mean, they have ANBU Kakashi! :'(. Anyways, I'm rambling, so I'll stop. Great game, Buy it if you like fighting games, and if you like Naruto. Hell,..sometimes, just for kicks, my friends and I play it with our toes.... Try it, it's fun.. BTW, Neji IS is this game, along with Hinata, and Awaked Hinata (mix of neji and hinata's fighting style)

Man I got it n when I did I could not stop playing it the much need people made it even better because the only 1 I have is the frist one so the change was big n 2 super moves that's hot it was hard to understand what i was doing n when I did unlock mission mode it was hard to understand how to unlock the chareters but once I got use to it I now have all chareters this game real good I would welcome any 1 to buy it u would love it trust me I do

Really good.

It is my first Naruto game so I cannot say the advantages/disadvantes against the other games but this one is really great.
The fighting system is good and you can play a lot of characters.
Only the Story Mode is too short but therefore are the Missions. There are a lot of them and the most of the missions need a high skill so you will need a lot of time to unlock all things

Ok, unlike everyone else who just screams "OMG!! NARUTO!!!" I'm gonna give it a real review.

The game is good, no question. if you havn't played a Naruto GNT game before, then please, pick this up. If you don't have 3, then also pick this up.

The game has many improvements to number 3, which someone listed below me. All of them are great, and make the game fun and exciting.
Unfortunatly, the game does NOT offer to much more than the last. There are 9 new characters, 3 of them are just beefed up versions of others (Tenfuuin Saskue, Jinchuuriki Naruto, and Awakened Hinata), and play just slightly diffrent than the other versions of themselves. The other characters are very good however, the 5 Otonin BodyGaurds, Kisame, and Kabuto are each diffrent and fun (and no, Kisame doesn't play like Zabuza). Unfortunatly, absolutly nobody else was changed other than the Y-cancle ability. Kiba did not gain Garuga. Choji doesn't have his butterfly form. Also, the 5 Otonins are permanetly in their Curse Seal states.

The game's good, no doubt, but just don't have very high expectations. 7 new characters, 3 remakes, a few minor battle system changes, and the 3-man-team battles (which are fun and furious). that's all you're getting. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be playing the game.

The game play is IMPROVED than 3 because you can do mid-string delay hits better. The side step while running is very useful against enemies who like to do the Kawarimi No Jutsu a lot. Naruto's bunshin clone is AI controlled (until he gets hit, the clone will attack on its own). Team Sharingan (Kakashi, Itachi, Sasuke) owns all other 3 man cell groups. Kisame is worth the $64 dollars because of the monster punishment he delivers.

Anything else you want to add to that list, be my guest. I seriously can't believe some people say GNT 3 is better? You've got to be kidding ...

If you've played parts 2 and 3 and expect to be amazed, well the game does deliver some goodness but all out it's the same as part 3 just with a couple of more characters and an assload of missions wich can get really really boring. But unfortunetly you need to do the missions in order to unlock characters. It's good but...Well if you don't own 3 then go ahead and buy this one.

This is one of the best fighters I have played! Even if you have never heard of Naruto (yeah right), you will still enjoy it. It has combo cancels, interupts, tag in and out, side step, running side step, running projectiles, running combo starters, counters, plus you can combo into throws. Too much sickness to describe here. There are plenty of characters and lots of levels to battle on. BUY THIS GAME PEOPLE!!!!

extremely excellent game for people who are interested with the show. Lives up to the tv show very well with all the high speed techniques. its a game for youngsters and the older ones who know the fantastic combos you can learn. plus this one has sooo many characters. ive had it for 2 weeks and i still havent tried them all. overall brilliant game

Great game. Everything I expected. The things I wished for I can't really say without spoiling it for others. Wish new jutsus were added, at least for the special attacks. But all in all, still a great game.

The game is really, perfect! I do not have what to complain, ahh....ops, in the truth has yes, hehe! ^^"....o bad, is that necessary of freeloader, or either, some dollars more, but..... excluding this, I recommend, can buy without being with the head crazy! =]

Just Ordered
Just sent out an order for it, and the status says its been shipped and on its way. I really hate having to wait 5-10 days, hopfully it'll get here really soon.

This will be the first game in the series that I have ever played, so the whole "no new supers" thing won't bother me. I was considering getting the first one in this series in english, but when I found out it didn't have Shikimaru in it I didn't want it. Plus this one has a BILLION characters. All my favorites, plus more. I can't wait.

Not a Sequel but an Expansion Pack
That is really all this game is, an expansion pack to NGNT 3. I guess that Tomy was afraid of messing up an already near perfect fighting system and they just re-created al the characters and levels from NGNT 3 and added some more in 4. There are no different moves or specials, no different fighting systems, just more of the same. But this is a different case because that is just what we wanted! This game still leads as one of the best GC games ever released and as an American, I am glad that it is starting to get imported over.

Aimed at people that know nothing about Naruto...
I was very pleased at first with this game, good graphics, good to mediocre gameplay, tag team to play woth my brother.Yet, alas, every beautiful creature will hide a traumatic scar...The gameplay wears thin within a week or so, on top of that, many characters that should not even be inside this game sure enough are!We have "Akamaru" as a playable characters instead of "Drunken Lee" or "Butterfly Chouji".A very, very, very stupid thing for "Tomy" to do.Unlocking characters is incredibly monotonous as well as a huge waste of time.Unless you are someone who has never seen "Naruto" or read "Naruto", this game is not aimed at you, just the same though.This is a child's game!No deep gameplay engine, no real replay value, boring, boring, boring time.Those of you who say opposite os all I just stated are fanboys and nothing more, sad to say, but I had hopes for this game, yet it spit on me, wasted my money, most of all though, it betrayed me!

I just got my order today, Play-Asia rox. As for the game, its soo much fun. Gaara doing his Desert Coffin and just owning with his mastery of sand. Jiraiya with frog-boss katon, hell swamp, spike shield etc... This game is just ALOT of fun if your a fan of the anime. Almost all characters have a different feel and style unlike DBZ games. Kankuro, Shino, Naruto, Gaara all have different tastes. P.S- CS2 Sasuke is a SCRUB, hes too strong (;'_')

It is an excellent fighter! Very easy to get into but technical enough to master. Graphics are awesome as well! Get it if you're a Naruto fan!

This game makes you forget that you have another fighting games.

Note: The system of combat of this game is completely different to TEKKEN, VIRTUAL FIGHTER, SOUL KALIBUR or DEAD OR ALIVE, so... you don't need to practice weeks to achieve something or remember complicated combos and gold rules. You only need to have ideas and try.

Note2: The system of combat doesn't change from Naruto 2 to Naruto 4 because is unnecessary. It's quick, easy and gives you freedom.

Note3: I think that the anime is bored and the main character sucks, but this game is one of the best fighting games I have never played.

this trully is the one to own, this series has shown amazing progression and has reacheda new height with this fourth installment.

this effort heralds the iontroduction of a lot of the characters that people have been crying to play has and they have bveen introduced by large withough throwing the game wildly out of balance.

although it may seem a little soft at first compared to 3 there is loads to see here and it will take u a long while to get all of your characters up and figure out who has special team combos.

a must for a naruto fan and an inspired choice for beat em up fans.

alas we have no streetfighter but we have soul calibur and this so all is not lost.

the best anime bassed game i can remember playing in an age, or maybe since number 3.

This is the first import game I got, and it is the best game I have ever played in my life. All my friends love it to, and half of them don't like or no about naruto. I relly recomend this game. I just hope they make a 5th one soon.

I got it, its great. I think its a amazing improvment on NGNT 3, but the lack of updates on most existing characters bothered me. If you got some friends to play with get ready for some late night gaming sessions with this one.

Great Game
I'm very pleased with this game. The fighting system isn't as in depth as other games like the Soul Calibur series, but it is very fun and for being so simple. The individual character attacks are some what limited, however the basic attacks allow for alot of fun options for battle, such as using chakra to appear behind your enemies, and deflecting each others projectiles with your own long range attacks. Like I said, I'm very happy with this game, and it arrived quicker than I expected.

NGNT4
Fair enough, it's a fairly minor improvement on NGNT3, however rating the GAME and not how much better it is than 3 it's easily 5 stars. Fantastic game!

Naruto gekito ninja taisen 4 looks like so much to naruto 3, they added only few characters and only few technics, however it's a really great game and the realisation of this game is better than in the three, thus each fan of the serie and each persons who love good fighting game must own naruto 4 on GC.

Today was the first time i played any of these games since my older brother'sfriend brought it over and its great for a party .This game was just simple and great. Combo's really just consist between A and B and either finish it off with y or x. Its face paced,entertaining,fun,and simple.
Ill definetly have to import this with freeloader when i get the money.

the best game ever to be played at least my opinion. Try it out dont worry about the language just worry about the gameplay. Its really easy to catch on to it but the people you can play it just feels like no limit. I vote it the best game in history itself! Forget the price and play one round an you will be on it all day. you will just keep going watch when you try it out.

this game deserves nothing but the 5-star rating... its the ultimate naruto game.

Better than the third
I love the new teamplay mode, it's far more interesting than the previous one and can be planned so much better. Not to mention all the new teamcombos. It's very amusing to watch and try new combos with different characters.

All the new characters are interesting, though I found Kisame hard to get. The other chars weren't hard to get. Although the missions aren't all that interesting, it's still a challenge to see if you can get them all.

The new stages are really pretty, and I find this game to be one of my favourites in my collection!

first of all,yes the multiplay is extremely fun but thats about it
second its more like naruto 3.5 rather than 4.

the only upgrades worth mentioning was the 2 different kawarimi techniques and the team specials. other things like running sidestep are completely useless.
and dont forget the collection of repetitive crap that they call"missions"also the way u unlock characters now is very
VERY ANNOYING.you have to play through 100+"missions"
