Up to 2 player can battle simultaneously. Puyo Puyo Fever features a new Fever Mode, in which there is a fever gauge, when the gauge is filled up, you can counterattack the opponent furiously. The game has 3D graphics combined with a 2D gameplay.
Most fun I've had in a while! An outstanding puzzle game from Sega! I had this ages ago on my Dreamcast, but I'm so glad it has been ported to the DS and PSP.
It may not be the exact quality as the Dreamcast or PSP version, but it has 8 player mode which is great.
Nonetheless, it is a faithful port of the original game. I find myself playing this game until my DS battery dies.
Really good!! This game is the way to go on the Puyo Puyo series. It's much more clean than the other handheld versions. To tell the truth, graphics reminded me the PS2 and Xbox versions. A very nice experience!!

Its a puzzle Game, not much animation is
required...well Actually this game delievers a LOT
of detailed animations and has over all a very good
presentation how ever the story mode seems like it
was done in macromediaflash, cute but semi primative.
the music is perfect catchy and addictively fun. however
there seems to only be around 4 tunes that alternate, and
i wish there were more, also the English voice acting is way back. The japanese voice acting is perfectly awesome.
the navigation is flawless if you have your PSP language setup in english, guess what... the menu defaults to english (as does the voice acting... just like lumines does the same thing)
this is the BEST TRADITIONAL puzzle game on the PSP.
if you had to choose between this and lumines tho, i would
say, get another source of income because you need them
both!! =3
Buy it! I'd never played Puyo Pop before but had always been a fan of Dr. Mario /Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and other Tetris style puzzle games. So turns out I love this one! I'm still getting to grips with the different modes and how the Fever works so I like that there is the option to play the classic version.
It is quite a challenging game. After the first few introduction stages of the story mode the computer's can be quite difficult so I imagine it'll take quite a while for me to finish which's good!
I don't have any complaints. It does seem quite small sometimes to play using only half of the top screen and during multiplayer the area's even smaller (especially 8-player!) but you can still clearly see what you're doing. So 5 stars from me! :)
superb game from Sega and Atlus! this is one very entertaining title from Sega...i still wonder why they didn't wanted us to get that game on DS...but at least Atlus brought it here, thanks!
up to 8 players can play at the same time, with (multi-card) or without (single-card) the game. you need at least 1 person to have the game. if you play via "DS Download play", you'll have less sounds while playing, to cut in the game transfer time (otherwise it would take around 2-3 minutes longer i guess). You can create teams like 2 persons in Team A, and 2 other persons in Team B. You can even create your own rules in your multiplayer game.
the US version even have the option to turn the game into Japanese language! that include the Japanese logo, menus and even Japanese voices!! so you do hear "Puyo Puyo Fever!" at the main title :-)
the only turn-down, there's no adjustment for the microphone sensivity...so when there's a lot of noise around you, while playing, you'll hear your character say the same taunt words over and over.
oh yeah, i tried the game with 4 players VS. 4 computers, and the computers are really hard to beat!
i recommend this title to everybody, even to those who doesn't like puzzle games!
