Pretty Good A turned based rpg. You slowly unravel the mystery surrounding the myst and where you came from. You evently have to face off against your brother. Not as good as FF 7, but better than FF 8.
Great Game :D Final Fantasy have been a huge success in my life, personally i have not found any game to be better than a final fantasy game (im highly stubborn)

The amount of things you can do in this game, from finding ultimate weapons, finding summons, new magic spells, quest for the golden chocobo, ahhh it's just great fun.
Quite possibly the greatest game ever made... (IMO) To this day, I still remember playing FFIX for the first time. I used to think that FF games were for old and boring people so I avoided it at every corner but I found a copy at a friend's house and was curious (the designs were unique) and stole it.
It may have been wrong, but I will never regret it. The game itself is sheer brilliance, everything from the major plot-points to the little details. There are also many side-quests that are extremely hard to achieve without practice (Excalibur II) and a unique Chocobo minigame. All these little things make it feel as if the developers actually cared for the game and did not make it for a quick buck.
I have heard many a reviewer diss FFIX for its plot but they might have been looking at it wrongly. They all except uniqueness and freshness but FFIX is not meant to be all that. Rather, FFIX is a testament to its predecessors, more than ten years of pent up passion at Square is pumped into this marvel of RPG gaming. It even has more little references to older FF's, e.g. 'No cloud no squall shall hinder us' at the end of the game and a few other references.
Finally, that leaves me to the CG and Music. Simply put, this is Square themselves. They never disappoint in these categories if you share the same kind of taste as I.
Buy this game if you have the cash (but if you didn't you wouldn't be reading this now, would you. Unless you're a lurker) I would 6 star this if possible.

I have to re-order it since the original game I had broke, and a glitch messed it up.
But, this is a MUST get!
I can't remember the story but I played this when i was way younger, years ago, anyway quite simply, i love this game, the main character is Zidane, he ends up on this airship if im not mistaken that eventually has to perform this play to the crowd at the start, to entertain the nobles, thats when his story begins
This, some people say isnt the most amazing final fantasy game, but i think it is
Yeah i know vague review Solty but keep into account i played when the game first came out and havent touched since, a lot of years have past, i guess i should catch up with this someday
The graphics and everything else are good, it can easily last someone 40-60 hours, the storyline as much as i can remember is good, you hear about Zidanes backstory, you get to get summon creatures, etc
