Pokemon Fire Red & Pokemon Leaf Green are remakes of the original Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green for GameBoy. You can play as either a boy or a girl at the beginning, the three initial Pokemons are Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle.
During the adventure, you will receive a new Pokemon Navigator, which is an improved version of the Pokemon Navigator from Ruby / Sapphire.
A new Teaching TV Mode is added to the game, which explains how to play the game. In addition there is a Quick Help function, which can be accessed by pressing the L button at any time. The text size is also larger for easy reading.
Pokemon Fire Red / Green Leaf includes and support the new GBA Wireless Communication Adapter, which allows two or more GBA systems to communicate wirelessly several meters away.
It is possible to battle and exchange Pokemons with Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire, and you can also connect the game with Pokemon Colosseum for GameCube.
Improvements over originals This version has several improvements over the originals, I think the biggest improvement is that the monsters can hold items now; in that way it is possible to transfer items to a different cartridge. There are some cool new items too like a thing that lets you battle outdoor trainers multiple times, and something that can get you twice the money when you win a battle. There are also berries, and through them there is a method to get an unlimited amount of PP UPs, one of the most crucial items in the game. Also in the beginning of the game you receive some running shoes which greatly decreases some frustration associated with this game. And finally you can breed pokemon in this game, if you're into that kind of thing. But by the way, there were some methods of cheating in the original games that have been eliminated for these remakes.
The Pokemon Revolution Continues After a long haul, Pokemon continues to remain on top of the handheld gaming craze. With each version there are imporvements, and FR/LG are no exception. Returning to the roots in Kanto and having you battle the original 8 again will bring back fond memories for both active and retired trainers. Graphics have reached a point beyond words. Using a display similar to Ruby and Sapphire, FR and LG's interface has simplicity at hand. Deja vu may be what you think you'll get, but be prepared to be knocked out of your seat. New attacks on old pokemon, new pokemon fighting against yours, trainers who you thought were easy to beat come back with force. Wireless gaming has been added. Battle with people without even seeing them. Trade with strangers. The union room is not only for Pkmn battles and trades but a chatroom. Add in the compatibilty with both Pokemon Box, Pokemon Colosseum and Ruby/Sapphire, and you've got enough features to drool over. Dust off those old Pokeballs trainers, Pokemon is back, and here to stay.
the new games i think that the makers are missing out. ruby and saphire are not completed they do not have a third one like all the other versions and the makers missed out the orang islands and there they could cover every thing : the trainer could go to kanto , Johto, and Hoen and the game could be made as a gameboy advance game, for starter pokemon it could be a chicorita, a charmander and a mudkip. Also for the pokemon hiding in the grass it could be a mix of pokemon from the other versions ,you could be a boy or girl and for the evil teams you coul d have team rocket , team magma and team aqua. So my coment is that it was agood idea to have johto and hoen after kanto but now the makers should complete the ruby and saphire and then before the remakes of the originals, they should make an orange island version.
