The EMS USB2 is a combination of hardware which allows 2 features:
1. PS Gun Convertor
Use most PlayStation compatible guns on your PlayStation2 to play Time Crisis II and other supported games.
2. PS to PC Joypad Converter
Use your PlayStation or PlayStation2 compatible joypad on your PC. You can connect 2 Joypads at the same time to play your favorite PC game with your PS/PS2 joypad. Supports force feedback function
Works great I bought this for Stepmania and ePSXe and it works great with my dance pad and dualshock after some configuration. However, EMS will not be making a driver for Vista x64 so I had to install it on an XP computer. So, before you buy this, make sure to do some research regarding the drivers and your OS!

Review with IIDX Controller I bought this to use with my IIDX controller.
There are some lag issues but they can be fixed (there are many guides on the internet for this.) however it's still quite a hassle.
It's a good product (from what i hear it works very good with DDR simulations), but for IIDX it's fairly standard.

It's good, but.... For most games on my PC, it works flawlessly, but for Stepmania, it screws up a little bit. In Stepmania, It won't let you press down if right or left is pressed (making most heavy songs impossible). Not only that, but it has a verty slight lag that tends to turn my perfects into goods, and my greats into misses. Maybe it has something to do with the pad I'm using, though. I'm using the standard Konami DDR dance pad for Playstation.

Work Great I don't know how well it works with the gun but my friends and I only bought it for stepmania (a DDR clone for the PC) It works great and we could attach two dance mats to it at the same time. People are saying that the x,o, square, and triangle buttons don't work in stepmania, but you could configure it. As far as I'm concerned, it works ferfectly with any 2 PS2 controll units.

Flawlessly working for DDR/Stepmania Maps controls for Stepmania immediately, fixes the joy-axes problem, two controller ports, what more could you want? The EMS Dual Shooter gets a 5 out of 5

Works Great with Dance mats I got one so that i could use my dance mat on my pc, it converts simultanious button presses but the x,o,square,and triangle buttons don't work in stepmania, other that that it works flawlessly in stepmania!

Great for Stepmania It works great for dancepads with StepMania. I just installed the drivers and pluged it into my usb, no problems at all.

EMS and dance pad Just plugged it in and windows xp recognized it immediately (no floppy disk needed, as for that none came with the adapter).
I use it with Stepmania (3.9 rc2a) and I didn't have to set the "Ignore Joy Axes". Maybe that depends on the stepmania version.
Just plug and play :)
If you only want to use one dance pad get the S-Joy converter.

the EMS converter on PC - some flaws exist I used it in win xp and I didn't need any software instalation. The only drawback I found is that two of my old gamepads (official dual shock scph-1200) had problems with the directional pad. both lost center randomly and sometimes some buttons didn't respond. But out of 6 gamepas I tried, only the 2 oldest gamepads had any problems.
here's which gamepads I tried
scph-110 - flawless
2 scph-10010 - flawless (one of those had been chewed by a dog!!!)
2 scph-1200 - both had glitches but they're both quite old (about 6 years old).
I didn't have a chance to try the ps2 fonctions though...
A good buy overall but if you only have old scph-1200 series dualshock you could regret it.

This one is PERFECT (or almost?) Well, this is the sinlge most usefull game acessory for the PC that I have ever seen. You can have TWO of the best gamepad/joystick on the planet (the PlayStation's) on one single USB port. and you can use most of the Playstation acessories and controls, Driving Wheels, Dance Mat, fish poles... name it, and you have it.
And still you have the "bonus" of the GUNCON convertion. you can use PS1 guns on PS2 games. Cool? For a single device, this offers a lot.
I only with two things:
That I could use PS2 Analog Buttons on the PC.
That I could use a Guncon on the PC.
But I think that the PC is the one that can't handle these. If it could, I bet this would also be the product to use. Oh, and great drivers also... Pain less on WIN98, 2000, ME and direct plug-and-play on WINXP.
Guess a lot of friends will get one as birthday gifts...

Dance Mat and StepMania I use Windows XP and didn't install any drivers whatsoever. StepMania works ok without any special configuration.

perfect for StepMania The Dual Shooter (EMS USB2) is perfect for StepMania, the PC emulator of Dance Dance Revolution (DDR). Unlike some PSX->USB converters, the Dual Shooter handles Up/Left and Up/Right steps and can connect two dance pads. Also, the Dual Shooter supports PSX/PS2 controllers instantly with force feedback (rumble/shock).
The other poster is correct. Make sure you install the software from the included floppy disk BEFORE plugging the Dual Shooter into your USB port. In StepMania, set "Ignore Joy Axes" to "on" before configuring the pad.
This product is a wonderful gizmo!

This EMS2 Convertor and dancepad I've bought this convertor in order to be able use my psx dancepads on PC. Well it works. First install software from floppy, then plug USB (in this order) and in Stepmania you need to set "Ignore Joy Axes ON" first and then configure joystick. But after that - it's working flawlessly.
