Good product, but not for unorthodox controllers. I purchased this adapter in the hopes of using it with my newly created MAME cabinet with four Ascii “Specialized Joysticks” meant to be used with the original Playstation. Using this product I could only get one controller to work properly while the others seem to be receiving interference from that one working joystick. It’s like the adapter picks up the signal from this one working controller and is trying to use it simultaneously with all the other controllers.
Just a word of warning to those with the same hopes of using unorthodox controllers for a similar project.

Very good but... This adapter is perfect if you plan to use it with one controller or with 2 to 4 "officials SONY dual shock 2" controller... If you want to use different types of controllers at the same time, there are bugs and lags.
I use it under windows XP with my hrap2.sa alone or with official PS2 pads for multiplayers games and there's no problem. It work with MAME, kawaks, zsnes, nebula etc...
So it's a very good 4 players adapater to have, with great functions, but for multiplayer, each player must use a Sony DS2 pad!

WORKS FINE I've had mine a year (replacing a previous one-socket version), never a problem with my one PS2 dual shock controller. I finally got round to getting a second PS2 dual shock controller and they both work fine - another commenter here is right in that it's best to plug all the stuff in BEFORE you switch on your PC. And i've never had any feedback issues at all. What a great invention! I cant recommend it any higher.

Not Perfect Given that it is more expensive than your regular usb converter (there are MUCH cheaper options at parity performance) imo it's not worth the buy unless you really want the force feedback (FF). I notice a fraction of a second delay when playing fighting games on my PC using a pad, probably due to the increased wiring brought about by the FF function. The difference is not noticeable in other genres, but with fighting games it could be the difference in a highly competitive match. So if you plan to use this for an arcade stick and don't need the FF function, not worth it.

Works perfectly! I tryed it with a ps1 controller on 1 port and a 'hori fighting stick 2' on another port and it works perfectly! I played GGXX #R and ssb64 on pj64 with no problem. Didn't try all ports yet. Need to buy more controllers...
I have Windows XP pro on Desktop, didn't have to install any drivers.

Works Great I just got my SJ5P in the mail today and it works great. I am running mutiple controllers just fine on a laptop with Windows XP Home. I just installed the newest driver's from Mayflash's website and the controllers work flawlessly when playing games on any of my emulators. The controller response time is perfect too; great for fighting games. Best purchase I've made in a while.

Definitely not awesome This product sounds great, but it's not. As reported in many other reviews, it only works consistently with a single controller. I've hit this with original playstation (PS) controllers, original PS dual-shocks, and three different brands of dance mats.
With multiple controllers there will be one that works perfectly, and the rest will flicker between their real input and that of another controller. Unless you're trying to amuse a three year-old, that makes the multi-controller functionality completely useless.

Only works properly with one controller As outlined by a couple others already, I have only been able to get one controller working properly. When I had two controllers plugged in (using any combination of the four ports), the controller plugged in to the left-most port sends inputs as both controllers, while the second controller's input is always an intermittent "rapid-fire" type signal. This makes the key feature of this adapter - the multiple ports - completely useless, and I didn't pay this much money just to get an adapter that actually only supports a single controller.

No title Im havin a similar problem that phylus. But only when i use a Hori arcade stick along a sony play2 control. But if i use only the Hori, it works fine. And i use the windowsxp64, and with it i cant access all the funtions of the software, so it would be better if Mayflash fix these 2 problems.

Works well, no noticeable delay Good converter that comes with software able to remap controller buttons for each of the 4 ports.
The only problem is with JoyToKey- it has trouble telling the difference between controllers when more than 1 is plugged in. You might want to think twice about it if you were planning to use JoyToKey and plugging more than 1 controller into the adapter at a time.

Doesn't appear to work correctly for me While I have admittedly only spent about 30 minutes with the thing so far, it doesn't appear to work in either SNES9X or ZSNES for playing SNES games. Having two controllers plugged in causes one controller to be completely useless while the other one controls both players simultaneously. There is also a problem with the fact that when I press, for instance "down", and do not depress the key, it registers as "down"s as fast as possible, so it's impossible to select anything. Maybe my unit is defective or something?

Works perfectly. After a few days of using it, it's working just how it should. It's already been used for long periods of game play and has brought plenty of fun. Highly recommended for people looking to play games with a good controller and to play four player classics with all of your friends.

Excellent Product! The Best Adapter. What makes this the best is how it requires no additional drivers for Windows XP - just plug and play. (I also purchased an Xbox Adapter but it required drivers). Moreover, it allows 4 PlayStation controllers - unquestionably one of the best designed controllers on the market. I use it to play 4-player games on Emulators and it's really nice! I also used it with a DDR Dancepad and it worked flawlessly. The Best Adapter.

Super Joybox 5 Pro - Give this 6 Stars! This adapter works flawless in all my Emulators, those 4 Player MAME Games, NFS: Most Wanted: Black Edition, and Halo. This is the best adapter on the market hands down for those die hard gamers out there. Playstation Dual shock controllers are the best for PC Gaming with this adapter. Excellent for 2D fighters with the fireball motions; all work flawless for Capcom / SNK Fighters. I had two of my friends use this adapter and they both purchased them selves the adapter!

Great adapter I started with the Super Joybox 5, and now in its pro version this is getting better. I love this adapter, every single PS/PS2 pad, original or compatible, works great. There's nothing more to say. Don't even doubt on buying it.
Captain Obivous on 18, Sep. 2005 02:47 (HKT)
Leetest Adapter ever. FIRST OFF, I'm sorry you use windows. It happens to most people. BUT! You need this to play some of those nostalgic games! Why have an adapter for every system you emulate when the PS2 controller is obviously the most flawless? You can map every button from any system to it, believe me, I've done it.
