description
Sergeant Tong Fei mistakenly killed the elder daughter of public prosecutor Ann Gao while he was in the process of capturing wanted criminal Cheung Yat-Tung. Ann works doubly hard to bring Cheung to justice. But as Cheung is about to stand trial, Ann's younger daughter, Ling, is kidnapped by a professional killer Hung King to be returned only if she drops all charges against Cheung. Since Ann hates Tong so much that she refuses to let him have anything to do with the case. Finally, Tong finds how one traffic brought together the lives of these people in a dramatic action adventure about friendship, duty, love and hate.

One of Dante Lam's best films
Beast Stalker is an action-film with lots of emotional subtext, and is one of director Dante Lam's best films. The plot centres on how the lives of Sergeant Tong (Nicholas Tse), Prosecutor Ann Gao (Zhang Jingchu), and gangster Hung (Nick Cheung) are tragically changed and irrevocably intertwined when they are involved in an automobile accident.
Both Nick Cheung and Liu Kai Chi deservedly won awards for their performances in this film. Nicholas Tse, while still overacting in some scenes, show how far he has matured as an actor.
The film is tautly paced, with flashbacks adequately revealing the characters choices and how they lead up to the tragedy. It is also superbly lensed, turning the New Territories in Hong kong into a character in its own right.
While the overall darkness of the film may not be for everybody, connoiseurs of fine films should definitely take note of it.
The first DVD of the set only contains the film itself, while the extras (trailers, a making of, and some behind the scenes footage) are contained on the second disc.

Superb acting!
One of the better thriller action movies in 2008 and superb acting from Nicolas Tse. Thrilling plot from start to finish makes you glued to your screen. Fantastic movie.
