かつて魔剣士スパーダが、人間のために剣を振るい魔界を封じてから数千年。英雄スパーダと人間、両方の血を受け継ぐダンテは、街の片隅に便利屋を開業しようとしていた。
そんな中、ダンテの店の側に突如として巨大な塔が出現する。月明かりに照らされたその塔の屋上に立っていたのは、失踪していたはずのダンテの兄、バージルと無数の悪魔達であった。
同じスパーダの血を引きながらも、その目指すべき物の相違から袂を別っていた2人……
ダンテは、バージルとの決着のために、塔へと足を向ける。
時を同じくして、人間のデビルハンター、レディもまた突如現われた塔に向かっていた。自らの因縁を断ち切るために。
悪魔、人間、そしてその両方の血を受け継ぐ者。それぞれの思惑を胸に、運命の歯車が回り始める

Awesome!
IMO Best.PS2.Game.Ever! I had to buy it again just because I loved it so much. Chose this version over the cheaper US version for the awesome box art.

I think everyone knows how great the game is, so I will talk about the JPN version itself.
This is great to buy since it is brand new, and IMO, has much better boxart. Unfortunately, the game doesn't save the language option, so if you want English text every time you play, you must set it in the options every time you boot up. However, it still provides an exact english conversion, albeit with O remaining to be the accept button.
