bioshock is excellent. i dont normally go for games like this but i tried, it liked it and havent stoppped playing it. its a must

After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. BioShock is loaded with some of greatest, most modifiable weapons to ever blast their way into a shooter. But guns alone won’t be enough to defeat the devious AIs of Rapture. There are literally hundreds of other strategies players can use to take out his enemies.
Great for Any Type of Gamer Normally, I avoid FPS like the plague. However, I kept reading the terrific reviews of Bioshock from numerous review sites, and this universal praise of the game inspired me to give it a try. I was not disappointed.
In terms of graphics, everything is beautiful. The water effects are astounding. And the frame rates remain solid even through explosions and other graphically intense moments.
Overall, the plot is presented with a great pace that drives you to continue playing, desperately wanting to know how the story progresses. At no time does the game feel slow. My only complaint is that most of the plot "twists" are either predictable or weak. However, this is balanced by some truly surprising plot twists.
I highly recommend this game to regular FPS players, roleplayers, or just about any gamer out there.

Bioshock is it kids Bioshock is honestly a game that makes you come back for more. The game's story line is very well written and it really captures the gamer's attention bringing you into the story of the city "Rapture." If you want an FPS game that you completely enjoy from start to finish, I highly recommend buying Bioshock.
Best FPS out there As opposed to many FPS's out there, Bioshock is entirely focused on the single player experience. The story is amazing and has a great twist ending.
The combat is fun, and switching between guns and special abilities is a breeze. And best of all it allows the player to really focus on different kinds of combat styles, all of which can be used to progress through the game.
Highly recommended, especially for those who may be a little wary of FPS games.

LTTP, but at least I made it I've been wanting to play this game since it was announced for the PS3, but I've only been able to play this just recently. And boy was it worth the wait!
The story and the gameplay was excellent, but I have to say playing this in the dark and with headphones on made the environment come alive.
Best PS3 game I ever played This is the only game that make me purchase the R1 copy for collection just based on its demo which is out on PSN, once i try the demo I just couldn't stop playing it over n over again till the R1 copy arrived at my doorstep.
There so much to do and collect and I even dlc the add on pack just to have the full enjoyment of this game. Provides you hours and hours of excitement and challenging quests. This game should have a game of the year version for those who haven't experience Bioshock yet.
wow ! gameplay is phenomonal. Everything flows and works together brilliantly. The combat system is truly unique, providing two aspects to killing anything that stands in your way. You can use plasmids, your wrench, any of your various guns, or a combination of them. You can electrocute and enemy, then pound their face in as they stand paralyzed. In some cases, you don't have to do any fighting at all. You can just hack a bot and let it kill your opponents for you. And nothing gets my heart pounding more than hearing the sound of a Big Daddy and knowing that if I want to reap the benefits of the little sister, I'm going to have to fight the hulking thing. It's exhilirating to get into a fight with such a thing when your in a situation where every bullet counts and you could run out and then what. And beyond all of these things, beyond the gameplay itself. Bioshock is artistic. It shows the folly of mankind, how we all strive for things and how things just don't work out. How it is in our nature to be corrupt. Without a doubt, on of the best games I have ever played and the game that should have won Game of the Year.

OMG best game ever This is my favourite game yet. I have American one, And the Japanese one and the Asian one, and i can't seem to get enough of it. It's one of those games it takes awhile to get use to, but once you do you get hooked. Also its one of those games you either love or you hate!! But by far this is my Favourite xbox 360 game so far :)
Great Story + Art Direction + Gameplay = Must Buy this is a game that should have won the 2007 GOTY by AIAS: Great Story (especially if you are a fan of the "futuristic 50's" like Fallout) with tons of moral questions as you discover the truth to escape Rapture, Unprecedent Art Direction (one of the best of all time) and, of course, extremely fun to play. worth every cent!
Amazing Gameplay The gameplay and the story is wonderful, i didn't believe it was so great till i played it myself. It's really a piece of art. Wonderful!
Hours of fun After playing Bioshock I can say without a doubt that it was every thing that I have thought it would be. As in fallout 3, there is a nice feeling of realism but in an exaggerated way. Nice soundtrack and even nicer graphics. A lot of good shooting, weapons and various upgrades and many more surprises. Hours of fun for busy people.
Addictive! One of the best 1st player games I've played besides the Resident Evil series. The execution overall is addictive, once you start playing it, you wouldn't wanna stop! I'm looking forward to Bioshock 2!
A work of art Not just a shooter, but one of those rare games that could be called a work of art. Great graphics, art-direction and storytelling pull at the heart strings as well as your trigger finger, the only game my woman has ever asked me to play more of. A truly unique experience.
Hmm I heard that there's a lot of new upgrades for the PS3 version of it. Plus the trophy system that is included is what most ps3 owners are aiming for nowadays. Buy it as i have seen my friends play it and it looks awesome!
ONE OF THE BEST GAMES VE EVER PLAYED ive played all 4 biohocks from start to finish thats how much i like the game and if your into gamerscore like me then having 4 region free games that are exactly the same really improves your score. i would also reccoment that you buy bioshock 2 when that is released looks good
wow!! Amazing, a must-have. Seriously, the intro to Rapture alone is so much better than what most sci-fi movies with huge budgets these days manage. This takes 'atmospheric' to an entirely new level.
Amazing Gaming Experience! When the creators of Bioshock started off, they wanted to really make a game that raises that bar on FPS games. After a ton of perfect or near perfect scores from various review sites, it seems that they succeeded. I've been playing this game straight for two days, and it's pretty awesome. Billed as a 'genetically-enhanced' shooter, Bioshock puts the player in the shoes of Jack, the lone survivor of a plane crash in the middle of the ocean. He soon finds himself entering the undersea metropolis of Rapture, the idealized utopia created by industrialist Andrew Ryan. But soon after arriving, Jack finds that the city has become a nightmare filled with corpses, hostile splicers, lumbering Big Daddies and blood-harvesting Little Sisters.
In order to escape his predicament, Jack soon takes to using the powers and weapons of his new world, even as various factions struggling for power in Rapture beckon and call from all sides. The story and pacing of this game is amazing, with an compelling plot and vivid characters. Creepy, scary and addictively playable, this is the shooter that every gamer who loves a great mystery-action-scifi thriller should experience! I HIGHLY recommend it to every red-blooded, mature gamer (and this IS for mature gamers, no kidding).
And I agree with the producers- Do NOT go to any forums or places where you can find spoilers until you find out for yourself. The plot twists and red herrings are make up a ton of the fun.
In my book, this is the quality-level successor to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in that it takes a genre game and makes it accessible to every gamer. The production values, design, sound, music are PERFECTION. Gameplay is fast and frenetic, and can be played by gamers of all levels, for better to enjoy the story.
