Dark, interesting character with cool, fun action. Prototype is a great game to play because your character is just so damned cool and powerful. Its a great snadbox game that has a lot to do apart from the story missions. There are lots of side missions, collectables and hidden points that all keep the game interesting. You have a massive amount of moves and combinations at your disposal, and unlike some games, where you can master a couple and rely on them, this game forces you to adapt your tactics and change up your techniques in order to succeed. Add to this a genuinely interesting and mysterious story, along with fantastic gameplay and this game is a must buy for open world action game fans. Though I think I should say, that even on the normal difficulty setting, the later missions can be control-pad smashingly frustrating!!
Great fun, worth getting grab this from Play-Asia since the local version is censored. As for the rest of the review, this game is quite a lot of fun. It gets a lot of comparisons to iNfamous, some of which is deserved, but really, both are good games in their own right and worth playing. They really do have different slants on the super(anti)hero sandbox. Well worth the purchase.
Next generation's gaming experience This game satisfied me very much.
There was a dissatisfied point.
But, it was interesting to supplement it though there was a dissatisfied point.
PROTOTYPE IS AWESOME When I first played, I thought this game is very violent but then I got into character and I understood the need for violence. Stealth is part of the game but why bother when you're near invincible? With great power, comes great carnage! Of course, there are a few times when it's fun to infiltrate a military base and kill everyone and nobody even realised it!
Controls are relatively easy but not very accurate so you will learn to compensate.
The story is quite intriguing, with twists and turns and you could never have guessed who is the real culprit until the very end. It was really fun. It is worthed. Definitely worthed!
Great Game This game is great.. a little bit violent.. not suitable for young players...

Unique The game story is well created. A sequential story that grabs the player parallel to the progress. The difficulty management is clever as it warms up the player instead of stressing excessively.
Good way to kill some time Fun game with fun powers. Can't help but compare to Infamous. Infamous has a much better storyline, but Prototype is still a great game with tons of possible game play.
Awesome Game! This game is really awesome! It worths to wait 10 days to get this game and it was low-cost respect our country. The shipment was ok and the game was even in italian.
Great But, the problem is the open games are more fun than the actual missions. You will most likely not end up using most of your powers not that it matters. The ones you do end up using are fun. This is a great game overall.
Awsome almost a five stars Great game; good visual, great storyline, heaps of different weapons and moves; it is awsome to be a Superhuman.
One thing though, until you really get the controls in hand; you might (from time to time) get a little confused when you are just a few hours into the game.
Once you get used to it, you won't put the controler down until it's done.
Loved it! Do you like the free-roaming skyscraper-hopping gameplay of Spiderman games? Do you love the grotesque gore of movies like John Carpenter's The Thing? If so, Prototype is for you. Fast, fun, and messy, this game delivers in a big way. I can't recommend it enough.
Crackdown on crack! Crackdown, one of my favourite games on the 360, is nearly beaten by this game. Way more upgrades, an actual story and a lot of gore.. just my thing! :D
unfinished but so much fun if you liked hulk ultimate destruction you will enjoy this can be a bit a bit frustrating in places but the fun of destroying a tank or throwing a car makes up for it
Karate Kick Helicopters Prototype is a well made open world brawler, with some minor problems.
The game excels in its combat. All the powers feel powerful and visceral, and can be stringed well together to utterly destroy tanks/helicopters/mutants.
Towards the end of the game, the combat can be become to manic, and can sometimes be frustrating as a result.
The movement around the open world is also fun. Free running, Hulk style leaps, and gliding makes just getting around fun.
The story is pretty generic/boring, but it provides enough momentum to keep you moving forward.
Basically, if you enjoyed Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, you will enjoy Prototype.
Decent game to pass the time Although a great sand-box game, Prototype lacks a certain something to keep you playing. I enjoyed the powers; such as jumping up walls and over buildings, taking out helicopters and cloning guards, but more exploration could have been implemented. A lot of the buildings and population in the game began to look the same to me. If you want a game where you feel extremely powerful, has an interesting story based on bio-technology and enjoy wiping the floor with multiple enemies at once, this is for you.
Best single player game of the year I really liked this. It's such big world to travel, really good story that doesn't get boring and I've had so much fun while playing. This was really worth waiting for.
Neat idea, moderately executed. This is a great game with a few flaws. Most people might initially be turned on by the excessive violence and gore, but if you can get past that, there is a pretty unique game here. Effortlessly crossing NYC in any fashion makes for a lot of fun, and being in control of a superhuman wrecking machine makes it that much sweeter. If you feel that the game is getting repetitive, it is, but there are enough hunts out there to keep you busy looking for things. Play this one for the sheer fun of being what you are in the game, but don't expect the novelty to last forever.
+ So many ways to kill that are unique and fun.
+ Nice big world to traverse with lovely tall buildings to climb & chill out on plotting your next move.
+ Intriguing story.
- Graphics are a little poor & can actually make things slightly confusing as out of focus.
- Mayhem is good, but later on it gets TOO crazy at times.
- Quantity over quality. InFamous is quality over quantity.
No for everyone This game has some really bad issues, the people are not amazed that u run faster than a car or walk vertically, the visuals from the roodfs are not detailed, well its a pretty long list.
Anyhow, this game is FUN, the movement and over-the-top action makes it a very challenging game
Y personally enjoy playing this, but, as i say, its not for everyone.
Nice effects bad implementation Its a good game, but suffers from trying to do too much. You have so many skills, but hardly use all of them. The story seems rushed, although the consumption flashbacks are pretty cool.
Great Potential Played INfamous first and this game just couldn't match up. It felt like it was always trying to do something specific and it just couldn't hit the mark. The side missions became painfully repetative to the point where I couldn't care less anymore.
Combat also lost its luster early on.
The web of intrigue was a fantastic feature though that I would love to see in other games. It's a great way to tell a story. Also, you really do feel powerful. Throwing tanks, jacking various vehicles, killing hordes of people or absorbing them... the game transmits that feeling of being all powerful very well.
Playing it felt like playing a prototype for a game that could be legendary.
In a nutshell, at first amazing. First major conflict madness. Later on, somewhat repetitive and barely challenging. Game play for myself seemed very similar to the repetitive nature of Assassin's Creeds missions. Although the offering of an amazing amount of customised abilities creates more sustained enjoyable game play. The open world nature unfortunately is tainted by it's similarity to different areas of the map.
Story
Typical gaming storyline with the added twist of memorial recall in a Tarantino-esk style.
Graphics & Audio
The world as others have said lacks in detail, while using the same textures and structure noticeably. Character models and environment effect are decent. As others have said, these qualities are of little importance during combat but very noticeable during roaming. Personally the audio component lacks in depth and poorly encapsulates the gamer in the scene desired.
Overall
If you enjoyed Assassin's Creed and love open world game play this is the game to buy. In my personal opinion this game had much more potential, and with the utilisation of the ps3 hardware and a bit more time Prototype could have been the best game this year.
This Game is awesome i have this game and i beat it twice its very fun the first time you pick it up and the achievements are very fun to do....
And awesome boss fights

Very Flawed The premise of Prototype is pretty cool, BUT combat becomes repetitive and boss fights boring.
The graphics are ok but nothing special. The side missions is the worst thing about this game....like timed runs, flying close to someone= YAWN.
Infamous is the superior game of the 2.
Flawed but addictive I found this to be worse than Crackdown, better than Wolverine, and a worthy comparison to both.
First the cons, the open world makes for so-so graphics. There's A LOT of stuff happening on the screen at once though, so this matters little when you're in the middle of the action. When just roaming the open world the weak textures and geometry stand out like crazy. But its understandable and not a big flaw in the balance.
I found the time trials and extra combat missions generally boring and places where you're required to enter a military base and consume the people inside are laughably formulaic and easy.
On a related note, all the citizens in the city are either walking, standing, escaping, holding their chests in pain, or dying with really no variations on their actions.
The military are also either walking, running, standing,
or shooting, with almost no variations.
I can imagine the work involved, but a little effort to bring some variety into this world would have been nice. Folks on cel-phones, hailing cabs, couples holding hands, walking the dog, etc., just a little of this here and there would have lent to the credibility of the city.
OK that said:
On the pro side, the open world, open structure is good addictive fun that allows for approaching challenges in many different ways. This game is hyper violent and you really feel super-powered. The story is so-so, but the "memory" sequences that come up occasionally as cinemas are pretty well done. I love the helicopter and tank hijacking, which itself is lots of fun, but controlling these vehicles is also balanced really well and always feels like its an advantage, even with how powerful you are.
Simply Amazing As soon as I got this game I could not stop playing it, lots of fun and challenges, the history evolves in such a great manner. But the main point is the free-run and the powers available, I finished the main story but still have much to do on the game, and will be no easy task. Great Game.
Carnage Prototype from the beginning is just straight up fun. What isn't fun about slicing people in half with your blade or throwing cars at helicopters?
The story line itself is as good as you make it out to be. I myself thought it was a great conspiracy story.
If you like action, mixed with a bit of mystery, then you'll like the story.
The action and abilities are enough to keep you entertained for hours on free roam. Running around throwing your whip fist into crowds of people or elbow-slamming tanks is just priceless. Being able to run up walls, air dash, and glide makes you feel like you can't be stopped, although sometimes you just wish the Military would just leave you alone. It's more of an annoyance than anything else, even if you die there is no penalty.
Once you beat the game there are still so many things to do, from getting all of the landmark/hint orbs to trying to finish all of the achievements. There's 'New Game +' which allows you to start a new game, but keep all of your powers (Only available on the current difficulty level of that save or lower), and there's also Hard Mode, which is actually hard. Plus you can always just run around murdering people. That's fun.
All in all I think Prototype is a great game with fun game play with challenging achievements, and pretty nice re-playability.
Out of this world! I got the game 3 days ago and i've been playing non stop. The graphics are amazing, the story line is interesting and free roam is awesome. if you like adventure, action, and killing infected people (as well as civilians and the military) this is the game for you!
