Great addition to a great series
The G.U. series encapsulated everything that was great about .hack.
With such an engaging narrative and strong character development the game stands up to much scrutiny.
This game, and the series itself, are both well worth investing in.

.hack//G.U. vol. 2//Reminisce
There are very few games which can boast an intricate, complex storyline. Of those, only the .hack series has proven itself capable of weaving one successfully. Reminisce picks up the story from Volume 1, Rebirth, with lead character, Haseo. A famous player-killer, he is also the living embodiment of an Artificial Intelligence. The kicker is that while the game is played offline, it simulates real online role playing games such as World Of Warcraft. Newcomers need not fear. Much of Reminisce's early game is spent recapping past events, and players can plough through realistic forums and e-mail threads to get a feel of the plot and backstory on The World, the online game in which Reminisce occurs. Returning players will find more of exactly the same as the first title, but it is the storyline, which is the star here, not gameplay.

In this, Reminisce shines with its excellent cut-scenes and well-paced tale telling, so that players are always rewarded just when the action begins to become repetitive. Slogging through mountains of enemies is thus well worth the cost for that "ah ha!" moment. Battles are simple affairs. Run up to enemies and swing away with the X button. Special attacks and spells can be activated, which while useful, are flashy and a little long. While fighting in dungeons are repetitive affairs - there's a limited set of tiles - players can explore an almost unlimited set of random dungeons by linking keywords differently before teleporting into a dungeon. There is also a new card-based mini-game, called Crimson VS, to break up the monotony, as well as a set of racing missions. Both net rare items for the diligent player. If story is your siren song, reminiscing with Haseo and his friends in The World is an excellent, if repetitive way to while away some 20 hours of your time.

More of the same, but in a Great way, Alkaid!
Before saying anything else, its advisable that you play the first game before buying this, as the .hack games, are a long running saga, well in the G.U case its a 3 game saga, this being the second of three, anyways to people that have played the first, you can transfer all your items, characters and everything else from your previous save, it awards you some mostly useless items, and some GP, if your inventory is full it will give you GP instead.

Since Play-Asia have highlighted most if not alll the newest points, i will go easy on the features, but, in regards to the story, .hack//g.u vol 2 takes place literally directly after the final scene of volume one, playing out by cutscenes as to what happens, if you have played the first you will know after triedge gets defeated an AIDA reaches out from the locker like boxes and infects Atoli, the conclusion to this is played out in several cutscenes and leads you to Raven@home, where the next scenario begins, and believe me, this mini saga of sorts which took me 2 hours to beat is actually very good, it gives insight into Atoli and Haseos relationship, introduces Sakaki more, and the main Epitaph users

Okay, well the features are more of the same, several new fields, the new Crimson Versus card game, this plays out by logging into the world after setting your cards, and watching and waiting, since your in the world a short while(keep in mind this activates after the mini scenario i mentioned automatically, you'l understand when you see), its a great little card game, you have 4 cards, 3 support etc cards and a general, the computer automatically battles oponents whilst you play and you like get the results, which can yield more cards, i really haven't grasped this part but it well.. will sap hours from your life just watching and playing around with cards.

More wallpapers.. music.. movies to be unlocked, also this includes the first episode of .hack//roots anime on the disc already, the graphics are the same, different cards to send to people can be unlocked.

Features, well more quests, more missions, more quests, more weapons, ability to upgrade your guild when earned, new awakenings, new everything mostly

I'm taking it fairly easy when playing, the game definatly has more story voiced scenes then the first, more characterisation on the select characters, its actually better then the first, mostly because it dives straight into the action with scenes to support

Its great in every way, i love this game and i am sure you will all love too

as of now volume 3 isnt out yet but its confirmed to exist so.. maybe in a few months time, we will see the end of Haseos adventure in the world !
