Great product!!! Great product for the right price, it does the job well. The graphic is sharp on my monitor, except minor gamma issue.

Very Good I've had this is for a month or so now and... to quote the infamous Ronseal advert, 'it does exactly what it says on the tin'. Whilst it's true that the manual is all in Japanese, it's pretty self explanatory and the picture on my CRT from my PS2 is great, better than TV in fact. Also, it makes no difference if it's Mac or PC, as I'm using the pass-through for my G3 and it's seamless. A remote would be a nice touch, but at this price I have no complaints. A solid product.

Excellent BUT the damn manual is in Japanese. Took me a couple of days to figure out that you have to use the toggle switch on the side of the box to change from s-video to component video. If you're looking for a vga/lcd box for your xbox, the x2vga+ is a better product.

Cheap alternative to the other expensive conveters Cheap... but definly quality. Play-asia shipped from HK to USA,CA in just 2 days, fast shipping.
As for the Hori Upscan Converter 2, it is the best you can get for just 49.99. I have it playing on my monitor using the built-in component input right now, and Tekken 5 has never been looking or sounding clearer. It looks almost as good as how it looks in the expensive thousand dollar Tekken 5 arcade machine.
Also, since I'v experenced some lag-delay issues with similar things, I was worried that the hori may have some frames of delay... I have not gone into deep testing yet, but I was able to do all of my just frames and links in fighting games on visual cue, and the sound seems to sync perfectly. Great product from Hori. A++

Great item at a good price This is easly one of the best VGA boxes on the market for both the PS2 and X-box, it even comes with a adapter to plug the Ps2 input cable into an X-box as well, a heavy duty VGA cable, a M type barrel connector to USB for power(you can get a normal 5v adapter from any radio shack to use AC power with it too but your gonna be payin about 27 bucks plus 4.99 for the right tip). Now for picture quality, at first it looked a little blurry but thats becuase I was staring at my ToxicOS screen instead of the normal screen or a game, once in the game it looked amazing, no double scan, colors were bright and vibrant, no washed out colors, black actualy looked black instead of gray. For the price this item is your best choice.
The reason I give it Four Stars is becuase of Play-Asia, they estimate shipping to be 1 week, it took them 5 weeks to get this thing to me with no email's or anything telling me why it had been delayed, how long it should take, etc. I had to email them TWICE to get any information on this and each time it was a generic "were sorry, we should have it soon" excuse from them. But I got it and shipping actualy took the 2 day air via UPS like it should once they got it shipped out, so at least that was on time.
Over all Product gets 5 stars, Play-Asia's service gets 3 stars.

No title Awesome quality, I've gone through a fair few VGA boxes and this one is definately the best. My only real gripe is the 50hz output for pal, but hey, doesn't stop it from displaying a crystal clear image.

Worth the price Ok, so I just receive my upscan converter and I can honestly say that it's better than any sub $50 vga box that are currently available.
Although the image quality isn't as sharp as a tv with s-video/component input, it's pretty good overall, just make sure you tune the upscan converter with its OSD menu to get optimal image quality.
If compared to an internal TV Tuner w/ Dscaler or any sub
$50 vga box the upscan converter wins hands down.
And the vga passthrough is awesome, your monitor will still be recognized in Windows and the refresh rate will not stick to 60Hz *like other vga box* and there are no ghosting at all.
I recommend it.

No title No other VGA adapter can compare with the quality of this. I previously had the Sagestar Redant PS2 vga box with YPrPb support. In comparison, this adapter outperforms it by a mile with plenty of adjustment options in the OSD.
Better yet, it powers via USB, so there's no messing about with external power sources or the loss of a memory card slot unlike other cheaper VGA adapters.

Best solution for the job Using the YPbPr output option I've got my PS2 playing into my 17" CRT monitor, and it looks incredibly sharp. After a bit of brightness/ contrast/ hue tweaking using the OSD, I had what I considered to be a brilliant image displaying on the screen. My optical lead goes from the back of the PS2 into my Audigy soundcard, and now I'm more than happy to play console on my VGA monitor, all the time if I have to, with great graphics and audio. The image quality is far superior to anything you can achieve using the TV card solution....A brilliant product!

Buy this Product if you need VGA I've tried one other VGA upscan product before and frankly it sucked. The image was soft and blurry. The Hori Upscan Converter 2 is great. The image is clear and looks sharp. The VGA passthrough is great--it doesn't make the PC blurry like my previous VGA adapter. The only caveat is that the image will look better on a CRT because the resolution is 640x480.

Good product tested on pal ps2 :
this product is quite well indeed, though i have better image on crt than tft screens. Some monitors just can't display anything cause of the range. So be aware of your monitor's range before buying any vgabox, you might be disapointed.
The osd menu adjustment is the better way to have the best image (tested on component output so i guess other output such as s-video or composite would be worse)
That's too bad ps2 don't have native vga output as dreamcast cause it would gain some definition but hey Upscan Converter 2 does its job quite well after all ! Games are nice

Great Product If you're using this with Xbox in europe, turn off pal-60 mode on the dashboard or the image will be too dark. Otherwise works just great.
