The idea behing the game is simple: You take the position as DJ and are challenged to hit the correct button on your special designed turntable controller at the right time to complete the song.
beatmania IIDX 13 DistorteD adds more improvements to the series. Hi-Speed settings now go from 0.5 to 5.0 at .5 step intervals. The game also introduces 2P FLIP in which both players switch notepatterns (DP FLIP on Doubles in which the entire notepatterns switch sides). In addition, Hi-Speed modifications can now be changed during the song itself by holding the appropriate start button and pressing a black key to increase the speed, or a white key to decrease the speed.
The game features the first new logo for the series (the old logo dates back to 1998 and the release of the original beatmania), and many more new songs and crossovers from other Bemani games, such as "Samba de Janeiro" and "Concertino in Blue" from DDR Solo 2000 and Guitar Freaks/Drummania respectively. The theme for DistorteD is silver.
beatmania IIDX 13 DistorteD is a direct port of the arcade version, with one preview song from GOLD, as well as new songs, and some revivals.

Simply Awesome
I've got to say that this is my fav out of all the IIDX games that I have. Don't get me wrong, all of them are really great, too, but Distorted is just freaking sweet. Totally worth the money. It has a powerful set of songs and the collaboration between Bemani artists are just insane. Thanks Konami, Bemani and, of course, Play Asia for allowing me to enjoy this wonderful game.

The best IIDX experience yet.
The playlist in this game is to die for; it's also really balanced too! The collaboration songs stand out the most. A few songs that really stand out for me are: The Dirty Loudness, Zenius 1, Parasite World, Contract, Heavenly Sun, Hybrid Landscape, and Ganymade.

this game is the best in recent memory, why wait?
If you are wondering which beatmania game to get then Distorted is the one for you.
It has an extremely comprehensive range of music....there are SO many types of music, it's hard to be bored with Distorted. Compared to happy sky this is where Distorted shines, because there are just so many more genres of music in this one.
Plus I feel the music is just better. The music here makes the older beatmania series' songs sound really old.
The song selection here is just better than happy sky. the problem with happy sky was that more than 60% of their music was like trance, j-pop, eurobeat....and not a lot of other mature or contemporary songs for adults. I guess that's why they called it Happy Sky....too many happy songs and no genres like gabbah and very few genres like techno.
It's hard to say if this is better or if 11DX Red sky was better. Red sky also had a huge variety of songs. The only problem with Red Sky which Distorted doesnt have is that they dont tell you if a song is 9 stars or 10 stars or 11 or 12 stars, they just tell you its flashing eight.
The only problem with Distorted is that the Old Music selection is quite bad. There are a few notable songs like Stoic, that Human Sequencer song, and even Drunken Monkey by DJ Oddball comes back! But other than these songs, the Old Music for Distorted is really not good. Which doesnt really bother me since I have played almost all old music anyways -_-'''
All in all, please just get distored. I'm still playing it and I can't get bored.
