The story began in Midgar, city of mako, where a corporate superpower known as Shinra used its monopoly of mako energy to dominate all aspects of life, securing political power in the process. Shinras mako reactors dotted in the city, harvesting the energy and converting it to a viable source of power.
However, mako energy was not the wellspring of happiness Shinra claimed it to be, but rather the vitality of the planet itself, the source of all life. Some began to realize: If we let this continue, the planet will die. These individuals set up an anti-Shina organization called Avalanche, and began resistance efforts using guerilla tactics.
Finally, Avalanche decided to blow up one of the mako reactors. Among the members chosen for the mission was Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinras elite guard, SOLDIER.
Cloud showed no emotion and was bound by no principles; he was an ex-SOLDIER and a merc, and there was nothing more to be said. The reactor strike awoke in Cloud the need to confront the holes in his past and his very reasons for being. And that journey, perhaps took the heaviest toll...
Two years have passed...
Though Midgar, city of mako, city of prosperity, has been reduced to ruins, the people slowly but steadily walk the road to reconstruction.
However, a mysterious illness called geostigma torments them.
With no cure in sight, it brings death to the afflicted, one after another, robbing the people of their fledgling hope.
And so Cloud, who walked away from the life of a hero to live in solitude, must step forward yet again.
The Stuff FF Advent is prob one of the best cgi films i have seen in at least a decade. its a great buy + it comes with the demo for FF13 what more can you ask for?
Great The story is bridged better and more comprehensible, the animation is still top of the game, even after 4 years since the original was released. A better version of the two, and a must have for any anime fan.
Great movie for a cheaper price This HK Bluray is same as the more expensive US version and totally worth the money I paid. Included are the trailers, the additional material such as reminiscence of ff7 and additional anime addressing denzel's past. The main movie itself FF7:ACC is a must have for any fans as it builds on the story and ties up the loose ends from the original version.
AWESOME MOVIE Still thew best animation movie i have seen after all these years. Although the original version is released 4 years ago, the new added scene are superb in quality and definitely worth your money to buy it again You are a true FF fan
It will never be a memory Even after four years since I saw this movie, it is still one of the best I have seen in an animated format. Rich colors and vibrant display of details.
The story itself is in many ways much better than its original version. Story gaps from the previous version have been filled out to stretch out the story's significance a lot further. The new additional scenes to this film make Advent Children Complete worth watching again and again.
As for the trial version of Final Fantasy XIII regardless that its in Japanese, if you understand better for you if not then that's alright as well. The point of the trial is initially to get a feel of what XIII will play like and it plays amazingly smooth. Graphics are the best in the series, it is nearly if not completely like the imagery designs used in Advent Children. Story-wise is too early to tell, but from what the first level presents it seems promising.
No title Paying $90 (including shipping) for a demo was kinda high.....also the movie is japanese only no english sub/dub anywhere; but it is was a good test to verify the PS3 is seriously region-free both blu ray and game-wise.
What else is there to say? It's a must-get for FF7 fans, Hands down!
Especially for you hardcore FF series gamers (like me), the trailer is a nice addition to your FF collection as well! I'm surprised that this is still available, so you better grab it before it's gone!
Advent Children is almost four years old now, but the quality of the CG holds up remarkably All i can say about this movie besdies the fact i was entertained and pleased with it is...it was 100 million times better than Final Fantasy Spirits Within.
Advent Children is almost four years old now, but the quality of the CG holds up remarkably All i can say about this movie besdies the fact i was entertained and pleased with it is...it was 100 million times better than Final Fantasy Spirits Within
The English dub on the disc is competent, but purists will undoubtedly choose the Japanese language track with subtitles
Really you must get this.
Fantastic! Top of the line CGI paired with some high quality voice-acting and a superb soundtrack make this one movie you should see just to appreciate the medium. Beyond that, anyone familiar with Final Fantasy VII will appreciate the story and the characters quite a bit.
Amazing!! I love the cover art and the new scenes. It has english voices. However, I wished their were english subtitles instead. The demo is amazing as well, it quelled my anxiety until next year
Excellent Movie and a high compelling game Demo This movie was already good when it was first released on DVD in a normal edition, but now it is in FULL HD and editted with an extra 30+ minutes added it is now a much more comlete story.
for the Demo part i like it but the Demo on the disc is an old build (i hope) because it isn't that pretty. it is still not as pretty as Lost Odyssey on XBOX 360.
but time will tell, for now the Demo looks alright and by keeping in mind it is the Demo of 2008. i have my hopes high for the full release
Buy this now! I can't praise this movie enough. It's not only a well told and engaging story with amazing characters, but also a stunningly beautiful film, which in my opinion has yet to be surpassed in terms of CGI animation.
awesome package i got this awesome Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete package, the desing of the BR disk cover is awesome, the movie is beatiful bcause the new BR version and some extra scenes, also the demo of Final Fantasy XIII was so outstaning, little short but the experience was so great and the graphics was beatiful, the new battle systems is confusing at start but u get use to it very fast once u get how to use the commands, this is a must have movie for collectors,FF fans and 3d animations fans
No title This is my first movies in Blue ray! The picture quality is totally awesome plus this is the uncut extended version so its totally worth to rewatch. Dont wait until it go out-of-stock. Did i forget to mention there is FF13 demo as well?
Worth it! This movie is just as awesome as it was before the blueray, even better now with the bonus scenes and HD quality. It's very entertaining and action packed. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent Great demo- looks and plays fantastic, and also very playable for those that do not speak Japanese.
Great movie- An already great movie made even better with some new scenes and 1080p resolution.
Amaziingggg!!! I liked watching the movie a few years back but now I'm totally in love with the complete version. Watching it with more extra scenes and the great quality really excites me. This is probably one of the must have Blu-ray movies for everyone's collection.
The complete experience Higher resolution, better sound quality, added scenes and the same breathtaking visuals. Also a great way to get your hands on the Final Fantasy XIII demo. The only thing that is missing is English subtitles but the English audio track makes up for it.
If you're a fan of Final Fantasy and own an HDTV + bluray player/PS3... what are you waiting for?
AWESOME worth every cent! I'de recommend this to anyone and everyone, i mainly bought it for the demo which was all gud, but the movie was also pretty gud! 10/10 :)
Must Have! Final Fantasy Fan or not you will enjoy this Blue-ray movie.I am full satisfied with the movie which i have seen it in dvd and in blue-ray i see great improvement!I was honored to play the FFXIII demo before it is released.I loved it!I will learn japanese so i can fully understand all the meaning because the english translation ALWAYS lacks depth and the english voice actors they don't give their best! Finally i fully recommend to buy it!Its MUST HAVE!
Worth every penny! I watched this movie for many times, I might say this is worth every penny. Not to mention it is on Blu-Ray. I can also watch this on my Playstation 3. I also have the Japanese version with FF13 Demo which I bought from Play Asia. If you are going to collect Final Fantasy items, this is worth collecting.
What are you waiting for? If you're looking at this page then you know you want to get it. There's no introductions needed for FFVII:AC. If you've watched it years before, then you have all the more reason to get this. With the added content, the movie is now far more comprehensible.
Watch it in full HD and bask in all of Square's painstaking CG-work. Not forgetting the spectacular audio work accompanied by favorite FFVII scores.
It doesn't come with the FFXIII demo, but that's beside the point. Get this. What are you waiting for?
Fantastic!! The story flows much better in this version of the movie, The graphics look unbelivable in BR. also its great to get the extras like OVA with Denzel & the FF13 PS3 Demo, the case is also awesome looking. I bourght 2, one to watch & one to keep as a collectable.
If you havent yet you must buy this.
this is great Final Fantasy Advent Children is a great movie. There are short extra scenes sprinkled throughout the movie which make it a little different from the PSP version of the movie. I was really excited about the FFXIII demo it has. The demo isn't that long (about 30 mins), but it was cool to be able to see how the battles are going to be in the game. The graphics on it are amazing. The demo isn't fun enough to play over and over again, but even the box art is so cool, it's even worth having this movie/game just for that.
Well worth the wait! This is probably the best demo that I have ever played. Even though it is in Japanese, I still picked up the controls rather quickly. The ability to play FFXIII probably a year before its Western release: priceless. Also the Blu-Ray of the movie is crystal clear and it is in English as well for us Americans.
Definitely Worth Buying The difference in the quality of the DVD and Blu Ray is amazing. As well as the special OVA that comes along which wasn't in the DVD.
Another reason why you should buy it, you get a free demo of the FF13 game that will be coming out this year/next year depending what version. Playing the demo has hyped me up for the real release
No words to describe this...... Just Plain AWESOME!!! This is the first item ever that I order online, because I know that no matter how hard I just have to own this movie and game. Lucky I bought the ps3 to watch this. The movie is just perfect. I already watched this version like 100th times but still didn't get tire of it. The demo is really fun, although I didn't understand what they said. Overall, This is a must for any fan or anyone who just like video games.
Buy this if you liked the first film (review based on the UK version) I really enjoyed it, it was much better than the first film and it was interesting to see the changes they made. The additional scenes helped to understand the story a bit more and also made the film more epic. It certainly felt more complete.
The movie would be cool, If you have it. I love Final Fantasy VII, and i was waiting for this to come out. I very Glad that you all like the demo and the movie. I ordered my copy on 21 April, but I still don't have it. It usually takes 5-21 days. I very glad that my Final Fantasy-co fans like the demo and the movie. If have to wait longer to see and play mine.
Awesome Didn't buy it here, but saw Advent Children Complete at a local store today, and had to get it. Watched it as soon as I got home, and then later pulled out my DVD copy to compare. The added footage deffinitely helps tie everything together in the plot. The original DVD certainly had to be one of the best looking DVDs I had in my collection so far, but the bluray is so much more clean in both sound and video I could barely believe it. This US Version does not come with the PS3 demo of FFXIII, but does have the E3 extended trailer which still showcases the game nicely.
A whole new level of understanding. I remember the time when I first watched the movie on DVD and thought "wait, what just happened?". Thanks to the new Blu-Ray release of the movie with additional scenes, the story of the movie is relayed in the true Square-Enix story telling beauty. Basically, it makes a lot of sense. I liked the movie overall.
The reason I actually bought FFVII ACC is for the FFXIII demo blu-ray disc, which is bundled together with AC, but on a separate disc. I wouldn't recommend on buying the Blu-Ray just for the demo. Its utterly short and not encouraging. The graphics ingame and on FMV are superb. The gameplay period lasts for at the most 1hour, which, IMO is not worth, just for the demo. There were two more trailers available which showed of FF versus XIII and the Final Fantasy XIII Agito which comes out of PSP.
Overall, the product is cool. Play-asia did a great job in delivery and shipping it uber fast. I was satisfied with the product and loved it as a FF fanataic. But I don't recommend buying it just for the demo. However, the movie is the real deal here. It used to be a caterpillar, now its transformed into the beautiful butterfly it should be.
Great Buy The game looks beautiful though the camera controls can be clunky at times. The Movie is better than the DVD releases with quite a few added/extended scenes with quite a few changes (Blood added in the sephiroth fight as well as the aura colout being changed from yellowish to a blue in the "Omnislash")
Hope i can say the same about the Blazblue: Calamity Trigger coming out soon. I've been a fan of Guilty Gear since its release on the PS1
FF7:Advent Children:Complete Bought it only for FF13 demo - superb, but too short. FF:AC movie also rocks, very sharp picture. So i recommend it for all fans. But i have some complains about devlivery time,i waited almost a month.
Awesome The movie has just arrived at my home. It took 5 days. The movie is just perfect, new scenes, new dialogues, it's like watching the movie for the first time. The FFXIII demo is just awesome, i have no other word to describe it.
=D The graphics for the new scenes are amazing! Also the added blood in the fight between Sephiroth and Cloud makes it alot more realistic.
And for those who love Reno and Rude, like myself, there are quite a few more scenes with them in it =D
I'm really glad I bought this, now all I need is a PS3 to play my demo.
It's Amazing!!! Thx PlayAsia for Professionaly the Blu-Ray of Final Fantasy is Greates! and the demo........no words only perfect! buy buy buy buy its a must!
Beastly purchased this without checking region info on blu-rays...it arrives and works fine XD
Advent Children complete is much better than the original dvd... the clear picture and attention to detail that has been taken is great in itself... not to mention the edits that have been done and extra scenes that have been added in, all ties in to make the film epic... basically I loved it...
FF13 Demo... although short... it gives a great display of the Graphics/battle system/music and basic style of the game... I got quite a FFX vibe from the gameplay, as for battles they're great fun even though you only get to control 1 player at a time in the demo.
totally worth a look if you're too lazy to wait for the English version... no subtitles for those that don't like English VA's though ^ ^
ITS THAT GREAT!!! The new scenes in advent children dont drag the movie out as some say. also you can tell (if you have a 1080p tv) where they just took the old scenes and just added to it especially during the tifa/loz fight. But over all this is worth the $70 purchase. and the ffxiii demo is superb. i want this game even more now than ever. but still am looking forward to ff versus xiii even more. 5 star rating i give. although shipping was a lil off. if weekends are included in shipping it took me from the 15th to the 2nd to get myne. thats 13 days compared to the max of 10 days. oh well. come on square enix gimme my ffxiii already. BUY IT!!!
It was worth it! The movie was great! The characters actually get dirty and bleed, it was amazing. It answered many questions and it was great seeing some familiar events from Crisis Core. Blueray kicks ass. XIII was an awesome demo, the Versus XIII trailer was breathtaking. Can't wait for the real thing.
Detailed! The movie:
The 2-hours-movie is totally amazing now. The graphics and added scenes gives the story all excitement and even if you watched it before you might not want to fast it forward. It's not a complaint but I wish the other characters like Cait Sith and Red XIII had more time on screen like the others. But it's just a detail from my part.
The game:
Well, the introduction of FFXIII is something you want to watch as many times as you want. I just love the graphics and the action already in the beginning. Sazh (The guy is a very charismatic character. He’s so afraid of everything but very funny. There’s not much too see in the demo version however he reminds me of Wakka – FFX.). The battles are fine and very fast. You can move the camera while in battle and there are a few attacks available for Lightning to perform. Which concerns of graphics… well, I’ve got a 46”Samsung TV (120Hz)-True1080p and I have seen games with better graphics than FFXIII. It seems the TV upscales it to 1080p. It’s not a native resolution. It’s a demo so I’m not sure if the final product will be like that. I hope they add more texture details to objects and there was a part during gameplay where Sazh bumped into Lightning and he kind of “crossed” her body. Also hope there’s a good collision system for characters. It’s all a matter of taste. There are people who go for graphics and there are people who go for gameplay rather than graphics and I wonder how hard may be balancing both of them in order not to slow down the gameplay and not to make the game looks like garbage. I’m a fan like most out there but I know how to appreciate the games in a neutral and moderate way so I can see their advantages and small defects.
If you’re a collector like me, it’s worth buying it. You won’t regret it.
FFVII ACC + FFXIII sweeeet, i just received it, the movie looks so good, and its in english, and demo wooow it looks really amazing, definitely its a must have!!! order now!!
Final Fantasy ***** I think the added footage helps out a lot. It's refreshing to see the old scenes spruced up, but the new scenes make it feel like I didn't spend $70+ on a remake alone. The demo is great, shows what COULD be coming soon, but I have to say one thing....NO CONTINUES! You die...you die...game over...dead...happen to let a friend play while I went to wash dishes and he died...game over...Great graphix though.
The best So I bought the game, hoping at least I can play the demo for final fantasy XIII(game are regional free) but to my surprise the movie(FF Advent Children) was also regional free. The picture are sharp, audio clarity is top notch. The only down side is that FF XIII was just a demo. But still, watching FF AC on Blu-Ray is great.
Was Good, NOW IS GREAT!!! The original I would say it was good, graphically it was great at that time and still pretty much is. Though I disagree with some of you saying the added scenes put a drag on the movie, If you ACTUALLY watched the movie. These added scenes help give better clarity with the story as which the original AC didn't, and also the little texturing changes with the much more in depth sound/music helped us stay in touch with the characters...All of these so called "LITTLE" improvements helped many viewers new and old understand and connect with the characters who were contaminated with the Geo-Stigma virus, and of course the main characters themselves. This is TRULY a movie of it's own and not just a re-hash of the first AC, I'd say just watch both and experience the difference yourselves as everyone has different tastes. A MUST BUY FOR NEW AND OLD 5 STARS!!!
Depends... The demo of FF13 is really cool and the graphics are crazy sharp. The movie is good, but I found myself thinking many times that the added scenes aren't necessary. The movie feels like it drags on now. You can definetely tell which parts are new because they make the original scenes look dated. They did spruce up the original footage by adding little texture here, a little detail there. A couple of things that really bug me is that they have no english subtitle option. The english voice actors suck ass!! I would have preferred to watch in japanese with english subs. Also, They freakin screwed with the music score!! In some places they pulled the music way back, and in others it sounds like sort of remixed. I don't know that I would have purchased this had I known what I do now. (and I'm a big fan)
Final fantasy 7 ACC+ FF13 why cannot one put 1000 stars!!! The film is extraordinary, I m' really did not wait has its!! AND then FF13 nothing has to say,is the best of the best!!
Awesome! The movie has some nice new scenes which are worth watching and the FFXIII Demo is basicly an introduction to the battle system, which is awesome.
FF13 Demo and Blu-Ray Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Rule I just got the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete in the mail finale i am soooo happy i have it i also tried out the movie and demo it works just perfect on my Ps3 and the movie and demo look asome in HD
Good movie and region free!! For main movie FF7AC, extra scene make movie more understanable than previous DVD version. More detail add and action scene is great to watch. come with both japanese and english soundtrack, so should not have any problem watching for people who don't know japanese.
For FFXIII Demo, the game's graphic is so beautiful with 1080p resolution.
AMAZING!! I'm a fan since too many years and the original Advent Children was too good for me, so this verion is just amazzing. Buy it and be happy like me. The best Bluray for me until now.
Awesome! I just got mine and i I must say FFVII ACC is way better on blu-ray. The FFXIII trail also rocks too. Play-asia ill do my business with u anyday
Better than expected. The extra scenes are cool and all but like many people I purchased this product for the FF13 demo (which kicks ass, btw). The movie still delivers good but don't expect too much just because of the extra scenes. Any Final Fantasy completist must have this bundle, but if you're not one, honestly just pass and stick to your old Advent Children DVDs and the full version of FF13 later.
A good buy, but you may want to wait for the US release if you don't know Japanese For starters, it's a great-looking product. The slipcase box is elegant, and the 2 discs (the movie and trial) are in sturdy crystal cases with nice cover art. FFVII ACC has definitely improved - the additional footage solidifies the plot, and addresses several loopholes in its previous incarnation. Slightly bad news if you don't know Japanese - while the main movie comes with an English language track (and to confirm, there are no English subtitles) but the special features (such as the Denzel anime extra) have no English language tracks or subtitles. If you really want to view these special features, wait for the impending US release instead.
The FFXIII trial plays without a hitch in my Asia PS3 (as expected) and has awesome 1080p trailers of FF Versus XIII and FF Agito XIII. Plus, having the trial makes for great bragging rights.
This product is a must-buy for collectors, and for those who just have to play the FFXIII trial, period. Even so, FFVII ACC is worth geting on Blu-Ray even if you already own the original FFVII AC DVD release.
Blueray region coding I received the blue ray and I can confirm that the movie is perfectly working on my Playstation 3 80Gb model. The trial game works too.
Not THAT good Well the movie itself looks roughly the same as the DVD, obviously it has a higher resolution, but it certainly isn't 'much' better.
The FF13 demo is very nice, fluid gameplay, gorgeous graphics and what seems to be a very epic story. I bought the pack for this alone, and to be honest, the price is a little steep even though I paid less being in Japan.
Still, a nice package you can wait for till you have more money to spend than save;)
Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete The extra scenes are worth buying this one. There are also extra content such as FF7 history and more. My only gripe is the lack of english subtitles as the english dubbing kinda sucks.
super great FF VII collection well me and my friend obviously doesnt read or speak japanese
so after tryin all the option we found a english dubbing (eureka)
but need to choose it from the menu/pop up menu
sooo i give this product a 5 out of 5
so great awesome, thanks for PLAYASIA
and the demo of FFXIII so awesome
