One of the most memorable scenes in the promotional movie of Sigma Harmonics is when Sigma, a “sound master” pounded on the grand piano in a Beethoven-like pose. With a sound master as the protagonist, music is of course a very important element in the game.
This rich collection contains full versions of background tracks used in the game and promotional videos as well as music pieces which have unfortunately never appeared in the actual game.
The dark atmosphere and suspense of the game are brought out by haunting tracks, but the excitement is portrayed by something more techno styled.
The combination of Square Enix's veteran composer Hamauzu Masashi and the rising star in the techno soundtrack world, Suzuki Mitsuhito have produced a chemical reaction with the album that will surely dazzle all of its listeners.
2008年8月21日に任天堂DS用ソフトとして発売される「シグマ ハーモニクス」のゲーム内BGMを収録したオリジナル・サウンドトラック。「シグマ ハーモニクス」は推理を核に据えたミステリーアドベンチャーに、スクウェア･エニックスが得意とするロールプレイングゲーム（RPG）の要素を加味したミステリーRPG作品。制作の主要スタッフには、歴代の「FINAL FANTASY」シリーズを手掛けたメンバーが集結する。
ゲーム内BGM作曲は「SaGa Frontier2」や「FINAL FANTASY X(一部楽曲)」を手がけた浜渦正志が担当。本作ではゲームを進める上で音楽が非常に重要な役割を果たす内容となっており、形なき音楽を造形物として用いる緻密な演出技法には、ゲーム音楽作曲家の浜渦らしいセンス光る一作と言えよう。
