6 stars?? Simply the best work of Uematsu so far, and simply the original soundtrack for the best Xbox 360 game to date. The package is also amazing!! No more words!!

Amazing! An amazing soundtrack from heralded composer Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy fame!
Aside from the four less than stellar vocal songs (not counting the operatic "The Seal is Broken" which is gorgeous) this is a brilliant soundtrack the marks a new age for Uematsu.
I am a fan of his work on Final Fantasy, and was more than mildly surprised when I listened to this soundtrack for the first time through - and not just because of the strong usage of electric guitar. There are a few throwbacks to some Final Fantasy tunes such as "Dancing Mad" that I noticed...but most of the soundtrack actually reminds me of ten songs he did for the soundtrack of Chrono Trigger. For example, "Nene's Paradise" is heavily similar to "Tyran's Castle" and scattered about in the soundtrack is an organ that reminds me of "Silent Light." And I mean all of this as a good thing - Uematsu's tracks for Chrono Trigger are actually most of my favorites. The electric guitar bits are really quite nice as well, and will please fans of "The Black Mages."
A very very very good soundtrack that everyone should listen to!
5/5!
