Very Nice but somewhat lacking
This soundtrack is very similar to the prior releases of the series, in particular Star Ocean 2. Motoi Sakuraba has done a great job capturing the beauty of the world of SO:TlH. For fans of his music this is a must to have. For others that have not played the game yet, the music might not strike the memory effect it is intended to do. As a standalone soundtrack it is very nice but somewhat lacking in depth. In comparison, the music of Tales of Vesperia is very catchy even if you have not played the game. That is ultimately what makes a soundtrack exceptions. Hence 4 stars.

One of Sakuraba's finest.
I'm a crazy Motoi Sakuraba nut. In my personal opinion he is my favorite video game artist, and this is probably the cream of the crop. This had a perfect mix of orchestrated and synthesized video game music. I rate this second best, only the Baten Kaitos soundtracks being greater. If you like orchestrated video game music, close to real movie quality, this is the perfect soundtrack for you. If you're a Sakuraba fan like I am...this is a must have. I rate this 5 stars.
