Yangus Review Having no prior experience with Dragon Quest VIII, At first I really thought that Yangus is a monster. Sorry if that insulted any Yangus fans. Also, I really thought that Yangus' scale is a big mistake as I expect bulky men like him to be bigger than Kukule at least. So I consulted the official artworks and to my surprise, Yangus is bulky and really...small.
Yangus and Jessica are the two lesser-poseable of the set. Yangus' legs cannot be posed as they are inside the pumpkin-like inflated pants...which gives me the Majinbu impression. However, you don't really need a leg articulation for you to be able to pose Yangus in a badass way.
Yangus comes with the figure-friendly display stand which you should attach on his neck, not on his waist, when displaying him; a pair of open hands and his basic axe weapon.
The good:
- Intricate figure sculpting, faithful to Toriyama-san's design.
- Display Stand included to stabilize Yangus while on display.
The bad:
- Too small, not even in scale with the Final Fantasy figures.
- Posing him without the display stand guarantee low stability as his feet are too small and the weight of his pumpkin-like pants is an added burden.
