if you even remotely like the sega genesis/megadrive buy this now! it works with 20 built in games and an sd slot that works with 32mb to 32gb YYEEESSS SDHC i have a micro sdhc4gb in it now. just download .bin genesis roms and your good to go. great battery life and the tv picture quality is the same as genesis

Is it possible to save game data-- websites have said that games like sonic dont save to sd card-- (bin games ) --seems cool but it would suck if you had to stick with password games

Eh I tested and is a good product, the selection of games included is excellent, the games from the SD card are also beautifully, a very good buy would recommend.

Awesome little portable console
This handheld is pretty well made and the built in game are very interesting.

Screen is bright, controls are responsive, and battery life looks to be long.

But the big plus, is the SD slot, put your .bin games on the game folder (automatically created) and they work!

The compatibility is big, almost every game I tried run without glitches, It's fullspeed.

The device support 2GB sd card so far.

This thing is really cool, forget the previous model!

Yup, it does what it said. Play with full speed, and the good thing is the sd cart! This is a gate to all the sega megadrive games. You will never bored with old good game, from street fighter II, Phantasy Star to warsong. Btw you have to make game dir on your sd, and this gopher only support bin. Go get it now!

I won't pay more for it, but for that price it's really good.

first one i recieved didnt work controlls all messed up pressing left resulted in walking right no direction up play-asia replaced with a new one which works flawless in handheld mode but wont display on a tv must be a connection problem but all in all for that price... schhhplendid

Too many flaws
The machine contains some very good games but the hardware is not stable.
I encountered some freezes on several titles like Alex Kidd and Golden Axe and only after after a couple of minutes of play, I was not able to finish the first level...

You get what you paid for.
It's not the greatest, but is certainly worth 40 bucks for the chance to play those games again. Like the others mentioned, there are some stability issues on a couple of games, which is unfortunate, and I found the speaker had a tendency to distort, cut out, and randomly go out of phase. All of these problems went away with headphones, so there's nothig wrong with the sound itself.

I found the controls a little stiff, especially when trying to press the D-pad in diagonal directions. The seletion of games is very good, but not fantastic. I would have preferred the original columns over columns 3, and a few games are clearly just filler (no offence to Gain Ground fans, but seriously...)

Overall, though, it's still a lot of fun, and a must have for any megadrive fans.

Portable megadrive
It is great, but it is very awful that sometimes the console reset, and you have to start again grgrgr.

It has happened to me with:
-Sonic & knuckles
-Shadow dancer
-Flicky
-Eswat

sega portable slight problaem
very nice and affordable. works okay like all selection of games quite nice mix. looks as to be expect blown up on tv warning does recete itself. on sonic and knuckles. randomly does freeze on ramdom games or game time is not selective. tried to see if there was a pattern. nothing tried email sevice on package bad email or something. I guess it is so new have not worked out kinks. with these two annoynces is still very fun and very portable. a little bit unstable. with all that said i would like to see more of these type of portable gadgets made.

Sega Mega Drive Portable Video Game Player
If you are a fan of the Sega Genesis at all, buy this now. I have been playing this thing more than my DS Lite ever since I got it.The only thing that keeps this player from getting a perfect score is the fact that it only has one sonic game(not counting Dr.Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine). I would gladly have paid 40 dollars just for the four main sonic games.The games are not listed in the item description, so I'll name a few:
Sonic and Knuckles
Ristar
Arrow Flash
Kid Chameleon
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
The system is backlit, I have not checked the battery life yet, but I have been playing on my first set for at least four hours. The speaker does sound a little distorted from the original games, but I would recommend using a pair of headphones.
Overall a great buy and I hope play-asia can get a second release with new games.

Megadrive Portable
Really cool machine, runs well. The actual sound does differ from the original games slighlty but thats to be expected from when youve compressed the megadrive into this tiny format. Runs flawlessly although for some reason on sonic it randomly decides to reset itself. I do believe this is just a one off defect and in my opinion this machine is worth every penny!
