Great game Has fast pace action, tons of stages, and even more mechs to pick from. You can even custom your own sound track for the game.
Cover's pretty much all the macross timeline. From Macross zero all the way to frontier.

The Ultimate Macross Game!!! I had loads of fun with Ace Frontier, but Ultimate Frontier blows it out of the water. All my favorite Macross mechs and characters plus the difficulty is upped a little to add to the challenge. The only way to make this better would be to put it onto a higher end system like the PS3. Definitely an awesome game.

Ultimate Macross This game has everything a Macross fan could want. There is something for everyone regardless of which series you like. Graphics are nice for a psp game and once you play a little the controls become very easy to grasp. Lots of missions, valkyries, multiplayer, etc. The only downside is that you must know japanese to get the story and some of the menus, but that can be overlooked due to the quality of the game and fan service.

They don't call it Ultimate for nothing Macross Ultimate Frontier really is the ultimate Macross game. You have campaigns for Macross Zero, SDF Macross, Do You Remember Love, Macross Plus, Macross 7, Dynamite 7, and Macross Frontier, plus an Extra Mission campaign and an Enemy Mission Campaign. You've got units not just from the anime, but units like the VF-4 and VF-9 as well. And while the game is in Japanese, it's fairly easy for someone who doesn't speak the language to pick up and play. If you're a fan of Macross, this game is a must-have.
