This game is amazing! The characters are adorable and the music is catchy...I haven't been able to put it down! If you love music games, definitely pick this one up :D

Great translation to the PSP!
I just received my copy of Taiko no Tatsujin a few days ago, and I must say that I love it! Although you don't play with a drum peripheral, the game still works well, and is still fun, too! The 38 songs included are good, and the 22 downloadable ones add more longevity to the game. A definite buy for fans of the series!

I like the drum character when he make facial expression. Very cute. The cartoons keeps me playing.

at first i was hesitant due to the fact that the game did not use its famouse taiko drum controller. but now that i have it i can say that sony did a very good job making a once arcade only game into a user friendly psp bemani style game. plus with the new downloadable songs the replay value is almost unlimited.

One of the best music game!
The graphics, music and gameplay is awesome. Well the learning curve of this game is about half an hour altho i don't understand a single hiragana/ katagana char. at all. I've been playing 3-4 hours after receiving it frm play-asia on the same day itself.

amazing game
It's really, really fun! There's lots of good music here. Since I'm new to the whole J-Pop thing, I was constantly surprised with how great the music is.

Also, there's going to be downloadable (onto the PSP) songs to play in the game come late September! Easily the best import in awhile.

For help on navigating the menus (as well as gameplay issues), go to gamefaqs.com and type in Taiko no Tatsujin in the search box. Go to the message board there. Have fun!

The music selection is AWESOME with music from many genres, and a way to select the STYLE of Drums ( i have the techno style/drum n bass style drums for mine) you recognize, many hits like "Katamari Damaci" and "Lupin the 3rd"
The replay is awesome with 4 difficulties, and 3 crazy minigames that are fun, and ultra cute.
i have to dock points for navigation because the game is in traditional Hirigana Script ( think american cursive) and its
even harder to read and figure out than regular imports(with type/text style hirigana).
Also there is no english menu setting. Setting up auto save takes some time to figure out but it can all be done.
Over all this is a top notch import, just don't be frustrated when it takes you about 40 minutes to set up your settings and then figure out how to save them ( here's a hint the instruction manual is a BIG help ).
internet game play: it is up to 4 players, and even has GAME SHARING ENABLED!!!

"How can this be fun without the drum?" - it is! Sure, it's easier using the buttons, but the music, the personality, the pure charm of the Taiko series all carry over so well to this version. It also has heaps of multiplayer options, and the mini-games are designed to take advantage of the PSP button layout. If you're a fan of Taiko on the PS2 then you need this to fuel your addiction on the go!
