The First Classic and X Games, Upgraded Description
This is a pack containing re-releases of the games Rockman Rockman (known as "Megaman Powered Up" in the US) and Irregular Hunter X (also known as "Megaman Maverick Hunter X"), which are upgraded remakes of the games that started the Rockman ("Megaman") Classic and X Series respectively, with graphic and sound improvements, much more detailed plots, lots of voice acting and other characters to play as.
In Rockman Rockman's "story mode", there are an "old" and a "new" style modes. In the "old style", Rockman begins straight at the stage select screen and goes through stages and bosses, much like in the original Famicon/NES version (even with the 8 bit music playing). In the "new" style mode, there are more graphic improvements, fully remixed music, stage alterations, cut-scenes adding to the story, an extra intro stage, dialog before and after boss battles, and, besides Rockman, the robot masters (the bosses) are also playable. Each character has exclusive abilities that must be used to unlock things.
Besides the "story mode", there is a "challenge mode", in which there are goals for each of the characters to complete. They are 100 in total and involve escaping from places full of enemies without being hit, collecting a given amount of items before the time limit, among others. There is also a "construction mode" allowing the creation of custom stages that can be shared via the Internet.
Irregular Hunter X is the new version of the first X game, with improved graphics and sound. The player controls Rockman X, running through stages, collecting armor parts and other upgrades and defeating the bosses. If the player wants to be at the bad side, it is possible to play as Vava (or "Vile"), experiencing the story from his perspective. There is also a "hard mode" for those who like more challenges.
There are animated cut-scenes, a lot of dialog and voice acting, giving more detail to the plot. And one of the best additions to this game is a 24 minute anime style "episode" showing what happened before the story's beginning and what made Sigma to change sides.
Other Notes
Some time before this pack was released, it was possible to preorder a special version which came with a bonus soundtrack CD, featuring music from both games. Unfortunately, this one DOES NOT come with the bonus CD, which was obtainable only with that "special" version and, to me knowledge, (at least at the time of this writing) it can not be bought separately either.
Overall
This was a very good buy in my opinion, two games at the price of one. If you like the Rockman series and, like me, missed the chance to get these two games before, this is a good opportunity.
