Great Game
This remake is amazing I love the new features of the game. This game is a must for any Pokemon fan!
beschreibung
Soul Silver is the sequel to the Pokemon Fire Red/ Leaf green released in 2004 on Game Boy Advance. 3 years after the initial defeat of the Rocket Organization, a new hero is setting off on a new journey in the Jouto area. Receiving a pokemon from the researcher Dr. Utsugi, off you go on your adventures and meet all the pokemon and challenges.
The Rocket Organization who has been using pokemon as tools back in the Kanto area are back. What are they aiming for this time? Can you become the hero to save the day? Train your pokemon in the gyms, enter the pokemon league and duel with the gym leaders to earn badges. Aiming at the top place in the pokemon trainer world, off you go!
Train your pokemon as you walk. Take the pokemon walker with you wherever you go. The more steps you take, the more experience your pokemon become. Use the infrared device to put your strengthened pokemon into the game world in your DS.
More legendary pokemon are showing up. Tame the glittery Lugia in Soul Silver.

A blast from the past
So I got this as an obligation to myself ten years ago, when I was playing through Gold version, my first game. All I can say is that this is my favourite Pokemon game yet. Everything is fantastic. The visuals, the soundtrack.....the shrimp. It's amazing.
The shipping was ok, took a little while, but worth it, and there was some slight crushing of the box, however this was probably just shelf ware.

Favorite in the series
Yeah! With all the advancements and few degenerative enhancements, it's hard to say what the official best game is, but in my own opinion, I still love this game to death! Much improved on the gen. 2 originals, yet a lot of the same feel!
I even recently started playing Crystal (Very Humbling!)!
Both of the games in this set follow the pattern of Crystal, but maintain the version exclusives!
I like Lugia! So much so, that I've already gotten 3 copies of this verion, 2 of them, their original Japanese. Have the figurines that came with the U.S. Versions Johto DS reservation. And was Finally able to watch Pokemon: Lugia (Pokemon 2000) in it's original format (and heard the original Song of Lugia), which I bought on Japanese DVD from here! And realized the significance of "Ash's" importance in the story, even in his actual name, Satoshi (which translates as reason).
The games are fun and this is the original platform that I completed the Johto stories on! I'd only, maybe, made it to the 2nd Gym before I got my own Japnese copies.
Yes, I rather enjoy the Japanese versions of these as they provide slightly more challenge. And with the advent of the Gen. 5 games, I abhor my native U.S. versions (so much so, that I haven't even bothered with getting the U.S. Versions of the Gen. 5 games, nor will I).
So much to do! Such a fun game!

Simply fantastic.
As a fan of the first and second generation of Pokemon, Pokemon Soul Silver has got to be the best game ever. The remake is just as good as the original with a lot of extra goodness built in.

I really like the silver version. It's the first pokemon game i ever played. So when this remake version finally come out, i'm so excited to try it...
Lugia, i finally able to catch you. After long years of waiting :p

A Silver Remake
For me, Pokemon generation 2 was the best one, and making a remake of that generation and adding all the newer moves seen in later generations is obviously going to go well.
On top of this, the game adds all the newer Pokemons to catch in special ways, and includes several of other generations Legendaries to catch as well, avoiding the need to massivelly transfer Pokemon to a newer game.
The game features 2 Pokemon regions, Johto and Kanto... so there is a lot to explore, Leader rematches and a lot of secrets to find.
All in all, this and Pokemon Heart Gold are, and will always be, the best Pokemon games out there.

Pokewalker is a fun way to add a great game to a perfect game. Like everybodyelse in the world, I find soul silver to be more likable than heartgold. But as you know, just gonna catch'em all!

The content in the HGSS is literally the best game , since it is the only game with two regions , both mascots in one and 16 gym's and even an accessory , the pokewalker .

Amazing game
though black and white almost take up all my pokemon loving attention now, i do still play this game a lot. It's a very, very decent buy if you like pokemon or not. no other game has whichever pokemon you want following you around. It's soooooo cute! And the storyline's a lot cooler as well. The Pokewalker isn't very useful apart from catching rare pokemon like Staryu early in the game, but it does give a sense of realism to the gameplay.

This game is great!
I love it and it has much nostalgia brought back to me. I couldn't have asked for a better game! I love how the first Pokemon in the party follows you around, and how Gen IV's graphics from Diamond, Pearl and Platinum have integrated into Gen II's mechanisms.
It's truly worth every penny; I absolutely love how Pokemon Crystal's storyline was merged in as well.

Really fantastic
More better than the old gbc silver version, and at the same time it contains the old memories for those who had a good time playing it with the old version. And also has more new functions. I proudly give this game a FIVE STAR!

Pokemon SoulSilver is wonderful!
With this remake could remember how the Pokemon series was in its second generation, so I consider this very good game! People who played Pokemon Silver will love to remember how good it was and the people who buy the Pokemon SoulSilver and not played Pokemon Silver also recognize a lot from the game because it is very well done and practical!
Many improvements were made in SoulSilver Pokemon: The touchscreen is used more and better used, so the game takes place in a more practical and easy. You do not need to use both directional and buttons, you can just drag and select what you want the touchscreen!
Pokemon SoulSilver is great for all Pokémon fans and DS owners, this game is very good!

Pokemon Soul Silver Review
At first, i was reluctant because i was afraid the remake wouldn´t stand up to the old version i liked so much, but now i can safely say that the silver i remember so fondly it´s still here. The battles, the pokémon, even the berries, it´s all here and tweaked in the good way (not like pearl, that wasn´t so good). it´s a worthy succesor, and it´s appealing not only for the new gamers but for the old ones as well. And, of course, the multiplayer it´s awesome, but that´s always a given in pokemon.

Among other things Pokemon Soul Silver offers you a great graphics with a great storyline. With the new pokewalker included with the package I knew I had to buy it. And I would recommend it to any hard core pokemon fans out there. Cannot wait to play the pokemon black & pokemon white, I'm certainly gonna buy it from play asia. fftw (fedex for the win)

I got it as a present, but just looking at my friend having so much fun between the game and the pokewalker is an instant motivator to get it yourself, if you have DS there is not reason to pass Pokemon Soul Silver

The best Pokemon game
I'm glad they decided to remake this, whenever you are an old time gamer (Silver version of Gameboy Color) or totally new to this series, I still highly recommend this, not to mention it includes an awesome accessory (Pokewalker) which never did on many other versions before, this showed that the producer really sincere towards this game.

Great Game....
A long time veterans of the series might be a bit annoyed with the lack of new features, but as someone who revisits the series for the first time since Pokemon Crystal, I was amazed. It is cleverly designed, and the Pokewalker accessory is a genius way to actually encourage some kind of physical activity. Highly recommended.

Great remake, but still not quite there...
I thought this was a great remake of Pokemon Silver. It was great to revisit those nostalgic towns, trainers, and pokemon. It was also great to be able to travel between Johto and Kanto, as well as getting to choose one of each starts From Hoenn, Kanto, and Johto.
The pokewalker was a nice addition, but it still seems very basic. Although this was a great remake and quite entertaining for an old pokemon lover, it bored me after a while since there were only a few new additions. I still recommend this for any diehard fan, or if you've never played pokemon before this would be a great game to start out on.

Good.. but not enough
The pokewalker accesory is amazing, but a little dissapointing at the same time. The only real new thing is the pokéathlon, some sort of poké-sports, you'll use the stylus, but it gets old quickly, and no pokémon contests. The game menus are perfect though, now you can have the stylus in your hand all the time.

One step forward, one step back.
The music and visuals are really kicked up a notch in this version of Pokemon, but it feels like some of the best features from earlier iterations.

I have no words...
This game is simply awsome! I love the progresses coming on the games of Nintendo DS(i/iXL). The following versions Pokémon Black / White will be surely more fantastic(uses more 3D graphics), but this game is also ONE TO HAVE! The story-line is awsome, and if you also have Nintendo Wi-Fi it's a lot more funnier!

Great Remake!
Just when you think they can't re-invent pokemon they switch it up and they create another hit game. Truly a fantastic experience for those who've never played the original and a nostalgic play through for the veterans. This game is a must for the collections!!!

Pokemon at its best
HG/SS takes arguably the best and most memorable Pokemon experience of its time and brings it forward 10 years into the present.
It could be criticised for feeling a bit too much like G/S's world in D/P's engine, without enough new content (as Johto is still somewhat short and easy). But on the other hand, that's probably the best combination of games the series has ever seen, and it's easily worth it for anyone who enjoys Pokemon, whether they've played the originals or not.

A must-have remake
Very nostalgic and awesome quality product. Wanted it since I heard of it and I´m very happy with the results.
Perfect product quality and very good game. If you are a Pokémon addicted as I do, it´s a must.
The new pokéwalker feature worked better than expected, and is a very useful tool for evolving your pokes.
Also, as other Pokémon games for the DS, it doesn´t simply end. You can keep playing, descovering new areas and monsters, and fun with friends and with the wi-fi battles and trades.
Highly recommended!

Nostalgic & fantastic!
The game managed to recreate its magic while not alienated both old fans and new comers. Great for both casual play and serious. All in all, a great choice!

You can't don't play it!
It's fantastic remember everything you passed in Gold/Silver... That Shiny you caught, Entei escaping through your hands, and the effort that you used when you battled Elite Four... But this isn't the end! You continue your adventure remembering more of the past, in Red, Blue, and Yellow when you go to Kanto. Capture Mewtwo you defeat Red, isn't the best things to do, but the best is play this game and catch all pokemons! This time everythign in 3D and with Online Trades through GTS...

The best I have ever seen!
I'm just a new big Pokémon trainer but I can say this game is just the best of the best. I started to play Pokémon at Platinum version!
But I used to see videos, screenshots and read a lof of articles about Pokémon since its birth, and I had never really played that challenging game until Platinum.
The best part is that I used to watch Pokémon and since first sight I love the Jotho League! And this game just brought my memory back!
And the Pokéwalker? That's brilliant! I saw that you can't do too many things with that accessory, but its another great thing the was added to the game! We can catch exclusive Pokémon with that!
I just do not have a word to describe the game, but I think 'AWESOME' is a usable word to resume all! Thank you Nintendo! Pokémon will never end!

Man, how I used to love the 2nd generation... And here it is again! What is there to not like? 2 region, which equals to 16 badges and all 493 pokemon! And with the pokewalker included? It's pokemon 24/7...

Perfect remake!
Ever since I heard that they were remaking an old version of the G/S, I was overjoyed as G/S was my favorite Pkmn Game! Being able to play the game on a DS has certainly improve my experiences and with the new features added the game feels nostalgic and new at the same time! The addition of the pokewalker was great as you can even bring it with u anywhere and still catch pokemon and find items! I'd HIGHLY recommend this game to any Pokemon fan or anyone who have yet to try it ! :D

Great for new and existing fans
This remake of the second generation Pokemon games is a great nostalgic trip for those who played the originals and also a decent adventure for those who are new to the series.
The Pokewalker adds additional ways to interact with the game and with friends while the 3D graphics provide a fresh new look to the towns and cities of past games.

Brilliant remakes
I'd been looking forward to these games since their Japanese release (which I also have) and it was well worth it! Johto was one of my favourite Pokemon regions of all as a child and this remake really brought it all back.
It has many new and awesome features, most notably the pokemon following you. The Pokewalker offers great ways to get some unique and rare pokemon too!
I'd recommend this game to EVERY Pokemon fan!

Both nostalgic and fresh
I've loved Pokemon ever since the days of Red and Blue. It's very exciting to watch the series progress and update as new technology comes along. Definitely worth purchasing if you enjoyed the originals, if only to see how the game has been refined. A beautiful re-release.

Best Pokemon Game until now.
This game is amazing. Although it follow the same genre as the previous Pokemon games, the best thing is that you can battle in both Konto and Johto. May on the next game it'll be possible to battle in Johto, Kanto and Sinnoh! I'd recommend for all those who like Pokemon!

Return Of A Classic
Ten years after my favourite game of all time, comes the much awaited remake.
The essence of the original Gold & Silver are truly alive in this game. Whilst some may frown upon the re-used graphics of the fourth generation, it is intended to please the fans that grew up with the original GameboyColor incarnations.
Excellent game, with lots of tweaks to make it even more enjoyable. The remixed music is nostalgic.
With the updated graphics, one loses themselves, exploring old areas long forgotten, and new ones, ever delighting us with surprises.
To all eternal fans of the series, this one's for you!

Sure, this game is more of the same, but that doesn't mean its not enjoyable. Its recommendable based not on the new additions, but primarily on the nostelgia factor.

Pokemon Soul Silver
I've being playing Pokemon for years now, since the first Blue, Red and Green. But the Gold and Silver Generation was by far the greatest of all of them. Soul Silver and Heart Gold bring back to life the most beautiful and the most challenging Pokemon game ever. Not just bring it back to life, but it also make them shine even more with new, and brand-new, features. The game play is renewed joining all the good stuff from the other games. Be prepared to confront new and powerful trainers, some of them a lot more powerful. And be ready to be fascinated as you see Lugia coming from the waterfall in a beautiful scene.

Pokemons never change
Yeah surprisingly this game is alike Diamond, Pearl, Platinum games. So you know what actually this game is. So i'd like to tell about new features of HG/SS/ First of all, great, lovely-looking Pokewalker! What do we can? We can lvlv up our Pokemons, catch Pokemons, and collect different items from Pokewalker. That's nice, isn't it? And of course it will count all your steps! Well this was really nice addition to the traditional gameplay)

Remake of the Original Silver for Gameboy
It has been a long time since the original Silver/Gold was released for Gameboy. A lot has improved and lots of new content has been added. Graphics are updated to the new DS standards from previous DS pokémon titles. The pokéwalker is a nice new add-on which works quite nicely and gives something else to do with your pokémons. Not to mention the possibility of getting rare pokémon with it (for example Fly/Surf pikachus). Also migrating from GBA titles works with this game! I would suggest this to anyone who has started to play the pokémon series from this version onwards and for all you who have played the original GB versions.

Even better than the classics.
Of course I expected to be taken back to my childhood, but I wasn't expecting to be totally captivated all over again! Pokemon does the impossible; takes an age-old gameplay recipe and injects it with new life. It's not just a remake; these games take their rightful place as the best Pokemon games ever made, and probably some of the best games ever made period. Can't recommend HeartGold and SoulSilver highly enough!

So Addictive!
The Pokemon series has always been a fan favourite, and these additions are no exception! Gold and Silver were the best Pokemon games of the original bunch, and these new versions are true to the originals, but improved graphics and sound make them just as much fun to play today. A good way to pass the time until Pokemon Black and White are released!

Even though it's Soul Silver...
This game is made of pure awesomeness. The Pokèmon experience has evolved to a new stage where you basically cant stop playing it. I don't play DS that much anymore but when I do, it's pokèmon Soul Silver.
My best in-game moment was when I got to the outside of the lighthouse, and the graphics are too amazing. I almost started to cry when I went to Kanto and saw how it was remade and.... yeah... you have to see it yourself to realize how amazing this game is.

Pokémon forever!!
I have been playing the Pokémon games for more than ten years, and it thrills me to see new advancements and features being made with every new release. HeartGold and SoulSilver is no exception. Though the plot and setting is nothing new to veteran players, it is always nice to see aesthetic changes from the original Gold and Silver versions. Not forgetting in-game features such as walking with your favorite Pokémon, the Pokéathlon mini-games, Gym Leader re-matches and such, HeartGold and SoulSilver is the best Pokémon experience... yet.

I was originally not going to buy into this gen (hg/ss) But the poke walker was too cute to resist. The great thing about it is that it has actually made me go outside and go jogging/walking to get some extra watts.
G/S were my favorite Pokemon games and they've added enough new features to keep tings interesting.
If you've played any other pokemon games you'll love this one and with the new pokewalker its a great buy!

Soul Silver
great game i still own the original Pokemon Gold game, my brother had the old Pokemon Silver game too.
It a great game to pass time when your bored, great for new comers to the series too the learning curve isn't hard to learn either for those unfamiliar with the game there are still type that can be only obtained as far as i see by owning both the games or having a friend trade Pokemon with you to complete your collection.
graphics are look great maybe a bit better than the graphics on Pokemon Diamond/Perl/Platinum.
The music still the same as the original but nicely updated to go with the game.
Sound effects, same as they were in the original but slightly improved, its quiet smart they added sound effects for the water, and when you run.
The Pokewalker not bad reminds me of the digipets / tamigatchi's or whatever you call them, wish it maybe had a backlight though its hard to see unless your in a lit room or outside in the daytime.
minigames i haven't really played them much yet so i can't really say anything about them yet but from what i have played not too bad.

A wonderful return to mystical Johto
For a person who ten years ago was fascinated with the original Pokémon Silver, like me, playing this remake is a wonderful return to that great days of fascination and fun.
Like in the original games you can visit both Johto and Kanto on the remake. The wonderfull story which many and many playes consider the best story ever created for a pokémon game is also present with some additions and very few changes, so you can repeat the experience enchanced with characters and details based on Pokémon Crystal and new ones, without harming the original story.
And even if the story is a known one to a lot of us, new graphics (the best that a portable pokémon game has ever had, with amusing details like smoke comig out of a chimney or fire glittering inside the streetlamps), new sound (hering the trainer steps or the flow of water), new options (like a pokémon following you) and a very confortable touchscreen interface let you experience the adventure in a new way that, one more time, fascinates you.
I enjoy the graphics and sound so much that sometimes I just enjoy walking arround visiting Johto...

Gotta catch 'em all...again!
I have yet to actually finish this game, but it's amazing! If you're a fan of the Pokémon series, this game is worth a purchase, and if you aren't, you better get into the craze because it's definitely worth it!
The interface of this game is a vast improvement from Diamond/Pearl, and I can't help but find it ridiculously adorable. This game is addicting and I seriously can't put it down.
Buy it! It's too awesome to pass up!

A Decent Effort
There is definitely a positive air of nostalgia involved with playing the new Pokemon remakes. The original Silver and Gold versions were certainly the best the series had ever received; largely due to the amount of raw innovation present within them.
These new DS versions are now sadly exempt from such heightened innovation; with a new inventory system and a few other 'neat' touches being all that's new to offer. Features such as the Pokethlon races and safari zone trading never rise above the status of 'bullet points for the back of the box.' And certainly don't expect to get much use out of the Pokewalker accessory.
Regardless of this, you can see the enthusiasm that GameFreak has put in this time around- they've easily outclassed their disappointing effort with Fire Red and Leaf Green. The games are still as fun as ever and the new lick of DS paint certainly makes things look and play wonderfully.
These should make the perfect appetizer for the newest generation of 'real' Pokemon games that are expected in the coming year.

Great Great Great
I could play this game for 100s of hours. They have advanced the easiness of playing the game so much now. The touch screen is now used for items etc, you can set two key items, no returning to the bag to get your rod out, the Gamefreak team seemed to have taken all the annoyances from DP and Pt and got rid of them. The game is still the same old, there have been no major changes to the actual game play, but in my opinion this is a good thing, if it aint broke dont fix it. Overall great game and if you like pokemon you will like this.

I never thought it was possible...
...but Nintendo proved me wrong! They actually made a pokemon game that's better than G/S/C. HG SS brings back everything that made the 2nd generation possibly the best in the entire series, improved in every way possible. The amount of new content is mind blowing, and they kept everything that made the originals so great intact. A perfect remake of a perfect game, I can't recommend this it enough

I can't believe how great a job they did on this. You won't regret buying this, but as it comes out in English in a few days, There won't be much chance to buy yourself a Japanese copy. Its a great experiance playing the Japanese version. THanks alot Play-Asia! :3

Hmm....
I don't have the problem with the game. The only question I would like to ask is why is the newer Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum is $48.90 but the Soul Silver and Heart Gold is $59.90 which is $11 more(shipping is more expensive too). I would've happily bought it if it was around the same price though.

this is a fantastic game with uptodate graphics an pokemon it has one major flaw its a remake of a previeos title and as such it offers very little new gameplay but having said that i have always thought the original gold and silver needed a remake i have got to my 8th badge and am in the middle of defeating clair as i write this and i have still not been dissapionted with the game and the edition of some good new fetures like pokewalker have helped my to stick with the game but overall i would recoumend to any pokemon ethusiats who long for the good old day of pokemon gold, silver, and cyristal

looks amazing
I just bought the japanese version of this game, and its being shipped right now. I can't wait to open that box with my soulsilver version inside of it. The pokewalker looks really cool, because you can transfer a pokemon from soulsilver or heartgold on to it and gain experience while you walk. I watched a few gameplay videos and the graphics are really good. Anyways buy this game, you probably won't regret it.
p.s.
if you're patient (unlike me) the us version comes out 3/14/10 in the US

Greatest pokemon game brought back to life even better
To me gold and silver version were allready the best pokemon games and i was sad when i wasnt able to move my pokemon from those version to the ones that followed so as son as i learned about the remakes i was happy beyond anything
But wow nintendo outdid themselves with these remakes, not only they brought back to life these two clasiscs but they even imporved them with some features from the next gen games (the DS ones)
Overall this games is great but with all the new things you can do for breeding and battling over the net makes it even greater
Also the pokemon walker lets you take your pokemon virtualy everywhere =P

Fantastic remake
If you are even a minor Pokémon fan, you MUST have this game. With updated music, graphics, and battle sprites, as well as new areas to explore, this is probably the best Pokémon game ever made. The new touch screen menu is very helpful for quick access, but if you don't want to use the touch screen, you can always use the X button to bring it up.
It also has some of the hardest battles in any game (no spoilers but there is a tag battle in Dragon's Den that took me forever to complete). The Battle Frontier is also back, but it looks the same as the Platinum one, as well as having the same brains. Not a huge problem, though, since there's still tons to do.
Eusine is, like in Crystal, once again tied into the story, as well as Suicune, so it is kind of like also have a remake of Crystal as well. The remixes of all the 8-bit tracks are fantastic, and late into the game there is also an item that allows you to switch between the new music and the old music. There are also a few 3D cinematic cinemas that look great considering the limited capabilities of the DS's processor.
The Pokéwalker is a very nice bonus with the game, as it allows you to train your Pokémon while you're doing your everyday activities. It also allows you to get Pokémon with special moves that they normally would be unable to learn (Flying/Surfing Pikachu, anyone?).
Seriously, get this game. If not from Play-Asia, then at least get it when it is released where you live. You will not be disappointed. I guarantee it.

Best Pokemon Game Ever
Heart Gold and Soul Silver are the best Pokemon games out. It is basically a combination of Gold and Silver with all the new upgrades from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum with a few new features of its own. Players can also obtain Gizamimi Pichu like the one in the new movie. Makes you wonder if they are going to remake Crystal.

A big upgrade from the G/S games
While the additions to the strategic aspect of the game were sparse (only a few new useful moves learned by a few pokémon), everything else was wonderfully done. The remixed versions of the old 8-bit musics, the Johto cities, the move animations, even the AI were a big upgrade from not only the GSC games, but also from Pokémon Platinum. The only real downfalls are the apparent lack of a catchable Celebi in-game (like in Japanese Crystal) and no VS Seeker. Besides that, I really can't see why any Pokémon fan would not play this game. Seriously.

Soul Silver
One of the best Pokemon games ever. Yes it is a remake, but the added features makes it compatible with the newer Pokemon world. They have even added the world trading network etc. The use of the lower screen for items and bag as well as phone makes it easier than ever to use items. Moreover, the characters are easier to see than in Platinum. I love this game and am glad PlayAsia offers it at such a great price. Don't forget that the Pokewalker is included with each game. It has mini games and allows you to raise the levels of a single pokemon. Moreover, you can catch new pokemon that are generally found in the Safari Zone on the walker and transfer then to the game cart.

Pokemon Silver and Gold
These two are the best Pokemon games yet. The feautures for having the pokemon follow your character around and the layout for the game on teh DS are perfect. The reaction of the pokemon and the use of the pokewalker makes this a more active game and has more interactive facets for the player. Furthermore, the audio is fab. Meanwhile, by having the bag and other features on the lower screen rather than on the X and Y buttons makes access to items easier than ever before. If you love Pokemon-- buy these games and get ready for a fun ride.

Maybe the greatest pokemon game ever
I personally think that Soul Silver is the greatest pokemon game ever. The graphics just blow me away. It is soo cute when the pokemon follow you around and they even show up shiny.

Excellent Game
Although it's a remake of Silver and Gold . They now had new graphics that is almost in 3D . They even combined Johto & Kanto together which is awesome and a longer gameplay . Although it's in japanese , It's simple japanese so it's quite easy to figure out what you have to do next . They have new evolution pokemons which makes people really excited . They even have some really awesome event to get trigger like Arceus event to get the Giratina , Palkia & Dalkia .

Great remake!!
All the features I loved and missed from GSC, but with DPPt graphics and wi-fi! Japanese is at a child's level and all in kana, so easy to understand. Overall a really excellent game. Totally worth the money and the wait.

With tons of additions and new features, yet the world of Pokémon Gold and Silver, this game is a must have for any Pokémon fan. The amazing graphics and dual screen use make this game a masterpiece in the NDS history.

Great game, but not new
The "new" Pokemon is still a great game. The game series has more than 10 years and continues selling well. There's a great game, like all the Pokemon Games, there's a new item called Poke Walker. The Poke Walker incentives the games making exercises to evolue your Pokemon. This shows how Nintendo cares about the health of the users of your products. I recommend.

Best of the Series!
Pokemon Silver and Gold brought new things to the franchise such as breeding and the internal clock. Soul Silver and Heart Gold continue this trend by being the first game in the series to allow your starter pokemon, whoever it may be of the 483 Pokemon dex, to follow you around. The Pokethon is another great addition to the game. The touch screen is much better used in this game than in the past few games as well. This game is highly recommended to any fan of Pokemon

I was super excited to be able to purchase this game. When it arrived, in a stunning week and a half, I was so excited. The game is a great remake, and i highly recommend it to others who enjoyed previous Pokemon Games.

Best out of the two!
I loved Silver when it first came out into america like 10 years ago. Now that I imported this lovely game, I loving it ALL over again, I bought HG, and I saved my money for the best last game, Soul Silver, Im still playing it, But I am at the E4, and I am kick ass in it. Well this game is amazing highly recommended!!

Addicted all over again
Having spent countless hours playing the GBC originals, I was thrilled to hear about the remake. The game definitely lives up to expectations, bringing the game up to date and adding a few extra enhancements. Menus are easier to navigate, and having one of your Pokemon able to follow you around is a cute touch.

Amazing game
I received my game 2 weeks from ordering (which is fast with the cheapest shipping option).
There are so many great features in this remake, not having played the original Gold and Silver games, this is new for me. I love how the Pokémon can follow your character. Features from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum have been incorporated into the game as well, blending generations well and incorporating the touch screen. The Pokéwalker is a nice feature, allowing you to still gain Pokémon and items while going about your day when you can't play your DS.

I have had this game for a month now and I still enjoy this game to death. I have been waiting for a G/S/C remake and this game was exactly what I was hoping for. The Pokewalker is a nice feature. I recommend this game to any fan of the Pokemon games because this is is the best they have so far!

Simply Amazing.
Silver easily was my favorite Pokemon game, even when the DPPt games arrived. Soul Silver is a perfect remake. They kept everything we loved- Bug catching contests, 16 total badges followed by an epic battle against the very difficult Red- and what they added made it perfect. Pokemon following you, the Safari Zone, and the WiFi event related additions are wonderful. I feel like it was the best decision I ever made, to import this game, and I highly recommend it to fans of the original, and to those who never got the chance to play.

Hi, I'm Typhlosion and I follow you everywhere you go ^.^
This game is just great. I played the original GSC games ten years ago and it really brings back memories ^.^
Nintendo implemented more 3D elements and made some graphics update (tall grass and really nice water being one of them). The Pokethlon an the Safari Zone are new too. But the best thing in my opinion is the first pokemon of your team following you. It will even be shiny, if you have one (although not the avatar in the menu, can't have it all ^.^).
Definitely a must-have for every fan of the series!

This game was incredibly fun to play for me. Even thought it was in Japanese, you can figure out what to do next. It follows the same story as the originals, just with more Pokemon and updated graphics. If you loved the originals, this game is worth the buy.

Best Pokemon Game Since Stadium
Gotta catch 'em all. This game has practically every Pokemon available, especially with the PokeWalker.
At first I was sorta sad about missing out on the retro music, but they even included the GAMEBOY MUSIC in this. This game was pretty much made to shut the fans up, so don't expect any good Pokemon games for a while.
Everything you hated about D/P/Pt was fixed in HG/SS. It actually uses the touch screen! Using items and rearranging boxes has never been easier. The auto run and touch screen shortcuts make for everything more convenient. Everything exclusive to Platinum is in this game, including the Battle Frontier and exclusive formes.

A must have
I hated the original Gold and Silver version, but this game is in another level. If you like to play battles with your friends or play tournaments, Soul Silver bring must have features to help in your training. The removed areas in the original version are back and the plot is extended. The graphic is awesome and the music is epic. Some flaws, like some trainers teams, may kill some of the fun (a team of 6 Magikarps or 5 Geodudes), but it doesn't remove the greatness of this game.

A nice surprise.
It's no mistake to think that one set of new Pokemon games is hardly different to the previous set. Despite that, I was amazed to find how addicted I've become to these particular games. The music is also the best in the series, and the PokeWalker accessory is very cool.

Fantastic
This game is absolutely brilliant, this is pokemon at it's best, as a complete fan I am so glad to see this remake, the colours are crisp and vibrant, the game play is magnificent, and the involvement of the touch screen is much appreciated. This game has so much to offer and bring pokemon games to a new level of brilliantness. My only fault is the new box storage system, which I do not feel flows as well as in previous games however this is a minor set back.
The poke walker is a great peripheral, getting you out and walking around, it's a great way to play on the go and make the game have an extra depth with others have been lacking.

A great game ten years ago a great game today
I remember when this game first came out I got it for Christmas when i was in like the 6th grade. It was honestly the most fun game I had ever played at the time! I was in love with this game. I am happy to say, that my love for Pokemon games was revived after playing this game. I am in love again. A great game and worth every penny, probably more. Pokemon fan or not, I strongly recommend anyone who likes gaming to play this game. You WILL NOT regret it!

an amazing game worth every penny
An amazing game I've played yet, I have been playing pokemon games since the first red version that came out, and I was astounded by the quality of graphics they've improved. The cute new addition to have your favorite partner (pokemon) follow you wherever you go. An old event from the previous Gold and Silver version reapearing like the Bug Catching contest, some new features like the Pokeathleon (which is an extra plus, and one of my favorite new features in the game). Eye-popping intro with enhanced music and graphics with the buildings, and some new features now having some 3D effect to it.
I would recomment this game to any fellow, hard-core pokemon fan, this game is a must and it will amaze you with the stuff you could do on it, that will keep you occupied for a long time.

Love from an Old School Pokemaniac
I love the fact that we have a new pedometer to go with this version of Gold & Silver. The ability to not only train your pokemon from the game, but to also capture additional pokemon as well as gifts to transfer back to the game is the most unique part of this version of the classic games and a definite treat for those of us who are still carrying our Pikachu2 from 10 years ago.
The inclusion of GTS from the D/P/Pt series a well as a few expansions on the ideas that were created for Platinum's WiFi Plaza.
While I wish I understood the Japanese language, this game will tide me over until the English language versions are released.

Best import I've ever made
I pre-ordered SoulSilver without really thinking about it, just because I wanted to spend money, but I must say it's the best thing I've ever bought off SoulSilver. There isn't much I can say other than that if you're unsure about whether it's playable in a foreign language, just go with it. It's absolutely fine as long as you don't mind checking Bulbapedia or GameFAQs every few hours. You get to recognise the attack animations quickly and everything else is fairly obvious. Also, it's a great game in its own right, of course.

Very good addition to the series.
While these games are remakes gamefreak did outdo themselves on many aspects. The graphics are top notch where you have GS brought up to DP graphics. There's even a few odd 3Dcutscenes here and there. New aspects added like pokethlon where you compete in multiple mini games to earn medals and crowns plus a few new routes.
Being connectable with DPPt is great and having to alot of Pokemon also makes it a more enjoyable experience. It's not perfect since I have a few problems here and there with it but it's nothing too big to distract from the experience. For someone who like to explore everything this has alot to do and for the fan who likes either kanto and Johto this is definately a must have. A great addition to the series.

Brilliant game
Gorgeous music, visually appealing maps, cute extras and lots of adventures - this game is more than just a reboot of the old version! It's expanded and has all sorts of great knicknacks for those who're familiar with Gold, Silver & Krystal, not to mention a great game for people who have never played Pokemon before. The Pokewalker is easy to use, and encourages walking more - not to mention being a handy way to level up new Pokemon! This game is extremely well put-together, and offers almost every single one of the 493 Pokemon currently in existence, perfect for a collector who wants to catch 'em all, or just people who would like to build up widely varied teams. The Wi-Fi functionality is just as good as in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, and the new box layout, Pokemon following the player, and setup with the touch screen menu make this a worthy tribute to the golden days of Pokemon. Easy to play, a blast, and I highly encourage anybody still on the fence to make this purchase - it'll be worth it.

Great game.
I thought SoulSilver would be an alright game, but I love it. There's a lot of legendaries you can catch! You can rebattle all the 16 gym leaders, fun.
It has a battle frontier like platinum, overall the game is really fun.

The Greatest Pokémon Game Ever.
After spending a few hours trading my pichu egg over, hatching it on SS, trading it back to my diamond to evolve it then trading it back, I've finally gotten into the game.
It's more beautiful than I could have imagined.
It's been nearly 10 years since I first visited the region of Johto, as a 6 year old.
I find myself immersed, and I can't seem to take my hands off my DSi.
This game has stunning graphics, amazing audio tracks, awesome gameplay and more.
This game remains true to the original gold and silver, at least, in my opinion, and veterans to the series may also find themselves surprised by a few things (It's a good surprise, don't worry).
This game has so much nostalgia, but at the same time it feels fresh, and new.
With the whole of Johto, and Kanto to explore, there's plenty to keep you occupied.

A nice revisit
This game contains the feature I've been waiting for the last ten years: pokémon that follow the player around on the map! That alone makes the games the best ones in the series.
The improvements from Gen II make this game a worthwhile purchase even if you did play Gold, Silver or Crystal. The music and the sprites have been improved and the Wi-Fi makes things even more interesting than before - now you can really trade and battle with friends from other continents. This feature brings a new level of social activity to the old games, and the compability with DPP is another nice feature.

Fantastic for nostalgia, great for Japanese learning, AWESOME for gameplay!
Suffice to say, I was rather excited when my copy of Soul Silver arrived - two weeks after the shipping date, granted, but I had already made the mistake of choosing "Economy" shipping. I unwrapped the box excitedly, and was very pleased to see something I hadn't expected - a little model of Lugia! About 4x5x5 cm, with the wings extending further, width ~8cm and height ~7cm. Very nice.
Also included was the Pokewalker, of course, with a manual all in Japanese that I couldn't read with my limited knowledge of Japanese.
Onto the game! It's a great port of Silver, with all the extras of Crystal (as far as I can tell), as well as more awesome features - but, as I did when I first heard about the game, I'll assume they'd be spoilers to you, so I won't talk about them. There are many sites on the Internet with details about that - pick your favourite.
However, if you were a fan of the original G/S/C versions, I assume you know the word "PokeGear" - it's back, in all it's glory, after eight PokeGear-less years! I was very happy when I received it - I was worried Nintendo might skimp.
But, in the full course of the game - I've almost finished - I can confirm that Nintendo have not skipped out on any detail of the original. It's all here still, though some areas have been modernised. It's not bad, just some more detail here and there.
The only language available, of course, is Japanese, but it's all in kana (no kanji anywhere in the game) so it works great for discovering new words in Japanese, if you're as inexperienced in the as I am. I think over the course of the two weeks I've had it, my Japanese has improved a fair bit - I can understand most of what's going on now at least :P
But all in all, this is a fantastic game. Sounds through graphics through even gameplay, to an extent, have been revamped - and hopefully a whole new generation can enjoy the great game this is!

Absolutely brilliant in every possible way
HGSS are remakes of what many believe to be the finest entries in the Pokémon series, and it shows. Everything has been renovated and improved, both compared to the originals and to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. The interface redesign in particular (everything can now be fully controlled with either the touch screen or the face buttons, as opposed to DPPt where this was only really an option in battles) really impressed me. It's also a bit more challenging than the original Gold/Silver/Crystal, which is good, since the originals were generally pretty easy (except for the fight against Red, as well as Whitney's Miltank. It does say something that while most of the Gym Leaders' movesets have been massively improved compared to the originals, that Miltank stays the same in HGSS).
If I had any complaint, it would be that there isn't as much post-Elite 4 content added as there was compared to how much FireRed/LeafGreen added to the world of RBY. But then again, Gold, Silver and Crystal had the best post-Elite 4 content anyway, so there wasn't really that much they could add, but the addition of Platinum's Battle Frontier is nice.
But regardless, whether you've never played a Pokémon game before and just want a RPG that'll occupy quite a bit of time (more if you get into the metagame), stopped playing them at RBY or GSC, or are a dedicated Pokémaniac, these games are perfect (though if you've never played a Pokémon game before, I'd probably wait for the English release, there are points where you may have no idea where to go without knowledge of the originals [and occasionally, with knowledge of the originals, the thing you have to do after getting all 8 Johto badges confused me for a bit, but a spot of searching for the solution fixed that]).

Best updated port ever!
This game was the best in the series on Gameboy Color. Pokemon Soulsilver & Heartgold are perfect prots to the DS. They stay true to all the elements of the Gameboy versions including story (more in-depth), music (upgraded), maps (some new areas), characters, and more. These games both have something to do with Suicune's story from Soulsilver. Suicune is the legendary dog of Pokemon Crystal and jumps around on the map until he decides when you can fight.
The main map takes place on Johto 3 years after the events of Red/Blue/Green. After completing the Johto journey and defeating the Elite 4, you have access to Kanto to battle 8 more gym leaders.
My overall review of this game is simply this, I turned the game on and did not stop until I beat the Elite 4. I used only Feraligatr from Newbark Town to Victory Road in 1 sitting. Yeah, the game was that good. I have never done that with any game.
In Soulsilver, Lugia is your main target Pokemon to catch. Use a Master-Ball on it. Other than this and different wild Pokemon, there is no difference between the 2 games.

Nostalgic revisit to Johto
It's been a long time since I played Gold & Silver versions for the GBC, and these remakes for DS do them great justice. I don't know Japanese, but playing the game is rather easy without knowing it (though, a handle does help). Remixed music is great, and the retelling of the original story is simply amazing.
If you have or haven't had the privilege of visiting the Johto Region back in Generagtion II, you should pick up a copy of these remakes.

Awesome game!!
Despite the fact that the game is only in japanaese, there is no language barrier. People who already played Pokémon should not have any problems playing this game.(The gameplay is as usual as in every Pokémon game.)
The game itself is a remake of Pokémon Silver which appeared approax. 10 years ago.
It's a great pleasure to play the game again with all the new details and to travel again to Johto and Kanto!!
The graphics, animations and sounds are amazing detailed and clear.
I highly recommend this game!!

This is probably one of the very best Pokemon games I have ever played. The music and graphics are amazing. I highly suggest buying this game! You don't need to know any Japanese to play this, all you need is knowledge of Pokemon!

Yes, Gold and Silver and Crystal were right up there with the best of the Pokemon games (with of course, the notable not easy to change battery problem) and SoulSilver does not disappoint ! I think they have managed to make it even better than the original, adding some awesome features. This is the game for true pokemon fans - the best of the old school games combined with all the best new features available to DS and wireless. Brilliant !

It lives up to its predecessor in every way. Everything from the graphics to the music has been vastly improved. The game offers many more new features than I expected. Shipping was fast as expected.

You gotta get this game! Best game on the DS by far!
What a flash from the past with MAJOR improvements and a fantastic story and plot.
The graphics have been imporved drastically and this is the most beautiful game graphics wise on the Nintendo DS to date.
The Pokewalker you get free!, is awesome and just walking helps you with your fitness and your pokemon levels and chances of getting rarer pokemon such as on the Wi-fi only course you can get wild Pikachu which know Surf, Fly, Volt Tackle.
There's over 9 legendary pokemon in this game, which is the most available in any pokemon game.
This is by FAR, the best game on the nintendo DS at the moment and it is no wonder that in Japan alone, this game along with Soul Silver sold 2 MILLION Units in a weekend!
Get this game and you GOTTA Catch em All!!!!

The best remake you'll ever play
Firstly, know that I'm writing from the perspective of a guy who played the original Silver and Crystal versions when they came out. I know there are a lot of people in the same situation.
Well, the remakes do not disappoint at all. This is the most upscale and detailed Pokemon game yet by far, and there are so many things to do that you will be able to play for over forty joyous hours in Johto alone before moving into Kanto.
Game Freak has managed to recreate the original games nearly perfectly (Flash is now a TM, Headbutt is a Tutor move, you can't decorate your room any more, and so on...but these are mostly trifling) with obvious care for those of us who played the games a decade ago.
The Pokemon in the wild are the same as in the original games, but you are able to trade with DPP from the beginning of the game. Game Freak has included a load of legendary Pokemon sidequests from all of the generations as well as a few events. Kanto has been mostly fleshed out (Mount Moon is still small, and Cinnabar is still destroyed), and every city is given a unique flavor. The ground is different for each city, the building have different styles, and Game Freak has definitely accentuated the Japanese theme in certain parts. There is a lot more flavor in each city now, and I'm glad.
The music is excellent for the most part. Game Freak has made sure to include every song in the games, even the Print-screen-error song I used to think I was the only one who knew existed. There are a couple of songs I can think of that could have been done better, but it is more than made up for. There are also quite a few new songs in the game--the new Routes 47 and 48 have a grand Wind Waker-esque tune, and the Safari Front and Safari Zone both have new music, as well as the themes for the GTS and Battle Frontier from Platinum, both of which return exactly the same (like it or not) in HeartGold and SoulSilver.
There are features that some people are disappointed about, such as the lack of a Vs. Seeker (used to rematch trainers whenever you want) or a Pokeradar (used to easily get shiny Pokemon), but I would argue that these aren't necessary in these games. You can rematch trainers with the phone feature, though not as reliably, and if Pokeradars were in, then Game Freak would have to make one large patch of grass in every route, which I rather wouldn't like considering that the encounter rate is so high in these games.
There is no other Pokemon game other than Silver/Crystal themselves I have enjoyed as much as I have SoulSilver. Don't order the game expecting it to be the same as the original games, because it's not. Drop your expectations and let yourself fall into what the remake is like. This is an absolute must-have for anybody with a DS, and a massive reason for others to buy a DS.

Brilliant
As I never got to play the originals I am loving the Ds version with the same graphics. I know it is different from the old games but the changes are just to kind of keep up with the times, and the onslaught of legendaries doesn't hurt also.

Amazing
This is just what you imagine, and more. It IS a remake of Silver, but they have enhanced it in so many ways, so it is worth it. I did not think that the language barrier is too much, and I do not know ANY Japanese. I adored all the little things they did to make it smoother.

Nice Game
I really like the this GS-Remake, it have the feelings of the old game, but also many new things. I find it`s nice that the first Pokémon walk with you. Pokémon Walker is also very nice and useful, for training PKMN. ;-)
I was also really surprised, that I received the figures fo pre-ordering. If I had that know, I would have bought Hearthgold too. (Hmm I hope german versions also get the figures ;-)

Refined
Some technical improvements make it the best pokemon game so far, however it is still very similar to earlier games. After beating the main quest your choice of things to do is quite limited. The same battle frontier events that were originally in pokemon platinum version make a return. SoulSilver players can catch Groudon and Latios whereas HeartGold players have access to their counterparts Kyogre and Latias.

Gamefreak does it again...
I have been playing these games for well over 10 years now and I have to say, I have not been impressed with a Pokemon game since the original Gold/Silver games that came out back in 2000. Ever since the D/P games, the 3 dimensional graphics have made a stunning impact, however, I do not like to praise a game for nice graphics because they don't matter. What does matter is the gameplay. I personally think it is just another one of gamefreak's cash-ins just to make a quick buck because you could only play so many pokemon games to the point you get tired of the same old repetitive gameplay. Instead of finding a way to make these games more fun and enjoyable, they decide to remake yet another section of the franchise that we don't need remade. By looking at HG/SS, it is very hard to say these games could even be considered remakes because of the dramatic changes that these games have undergone. The music is average. I can't express enough on how Lance's battle theme and Silver's battle theme don't have the right instrumentals. IMO they pretty much half-assed some of the tracks, but that is just me.

Not as good as the originals.
But for kids that never got to play the originals this will be great for them I’m sure. I’m going back to the Gameboy games for now as I really wanted to replay these games on the ds and waited for these versions. But they just changed way too much for my taste. They don’t at all feel/sound/look like the original games to me. The Team making this remake didn’t give it the right attention and love that it deserves for the old school fans. I’m done ranting but understand, if you love GS versions you will understand how unfaithful this is to the original when you boot the game up for the first time, it feels remarkably different.

This is a sellout
But so righteously deserved. The music has to be the game's biggest win, with so much effort put into it. The region of Johto is also very nicely redone and should be a great buy for those who would like a new game and haven't played Gold/Silver, and a pretty awesome one for those who played the original games almost a decade ago.

A great remake
Soul silver has arrived and I'm happy to say it's brilliant.
Music: 9 out of 10
The music in these games is fantastic and indeed at a new level, the tracks feel new and familiar at the same time.
Graphics: 9 out of ten.
A major improvement over D/P/Pt graphics, those worried about the modern look wreaking these games can stop worrying. Like the music they feel new yet familiar.
Gameplay: 9 out of 10.
The gameplay is standard pokemon however being remakes these games contain all the improvements that have occurred since the originals.
Overall: 9 out of 10.
For pokemon fans these games are must buys, and for everyone else I'd also suggest giving these games a look.

These two remakes are amazing. The music and attention to detail are just...wow. Very glad I ordered from Playasia and the PokeWalker works great too.
A must have game for those old enough to remember the original Gold and Silver.

A lazy rehash, not a game produced with heart and soul
Welcome to Pokemon Crystal, version 1.01. That's essentially what Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver are: lazy, unimaginative rehashes hastily cranked out by GAMEFREAK for an easy cash-in.
There is virtually ZERO new content in this game that is not present in one form or another in Pokemon Crystal or Pokemon Platinum. There are NO new Pokemon species, battle moves, abilities or natures. EVERY Pokemon in HG/SS can be readily obtained from already-released GBA and DS Pokemon games. Even the Battle Frontier is a direct copy and paste from Pokemon Platinum with zero changes.
Unlike FireRed and LeafGreen, which added the Sevii Islands, the aren't even a dozen new maps in HG/SS. Instead, "new" additions are inserted here and there: Battle Frontier to Olivine City, Safari Zone to Cianwood, Pal Park (same one as D/P/Pt--surprised?) to Fuchsia City.
Almost none of the problems from the original Gold/Silver have been fixed in this incremental upgrade. The Rocket Execs, Elite Four members and gym leaders remain far too underleveled, including their rematches by the time you have access to them. The PokeGear is still annoying, and about once every five minutes, you'll get telephone calls from some bug catcher telling you about how awesome it is to watch his Pokemon become stronger. Kanto is still the same old, watered-down version, with landmarks such as Silph Co., Pokemon Tower and Cinnabar Island being partially closed off or gutted--and this time, lack of cartridge space is no longer an excuse.
Only two groups will possibly find these ports of any value: (1) folks who have never played Gold/Silver/Crystal before and (2) those who have insatiable amounts of rose-tinted nostalgia for the originals. For veterans of the Pokemon games, HG/SS offers nothing new or remotely interesting/revolutionary to the franchise, even for so-called "enhanced remakes." Just grab an old, cheap copy of Pokemon Crystal from eBay if you're so inclined, and save yourself some cash.

Finally my favourite game is back!
Silver was always the best game and now it can be played in the Platinum format, which edged out Diamond/Pearls misplacements. Silver always got me playing, must have gone over 500 hours of gameplay before the internal clock died.. this wont have that problem! The new physical/special format and extra pokemon from hoenn/sinnoh make this the perfect game yet.
LeafGreen (or FireRed), Emerald were awesome fun to play. Diamond (maybe Pearl) and Platinum were great but SoulSilver is going to kick ass! maybe HeartGold too I suppose!
